- This is a fun clip from Fanfare, a musical variety series shown during the summer of 1965 featuring Sherman and Herman. Here Allan Sherman does "the American version" of one of Herman's Hermits songs, and gives Peter Noone "the English version" of one of Allan's songs.
Allan Sherman was the original "Weird" Al Yankovic before weird Al was even heard of! Such talent, Allan was!
He was even one of the inspirations for Weird Al which was pretty cool
One of my favorite comics of the 50's and 60's Allan Sherman was a brilliant talent. Too bad he left us so soon. We saw Peter Noone doing a show about ten years ago and he is still a great talent and quite a gentleman. Thanks for finding and posting this clip!
Peter is on facebook live most evenings.
Great to see this. ALLEN SHERMAN WARM WONDERFUL MAN. SURELY MIST
I only WISH that TALENTS like Allan Shermans' still existed!
@@johnmaki3046 THEY DO BUT CABOL OWN THE SYSTEM DONT WANT THEM UP FRONT. ITS WHY MUSIC IS TOEN DOWN. THERE KEEPEN US NOT TO FIND BEST OF US. BUT WHEN VIBRATION OF GODS PRESENCE HITS US. YOU BE IN IN GODS HIGHEST AWARENESS. AND ALLEN SHERMAN BE ABLE TO TALK TO HIM ON BOTH DEMINSIONS.
He’s still playing shows at the NYS fair ever year in August. Me and my father have been going for the past 3 years but he’s been doing shows here well before that and my fathers been going till he dragged me in a couple years ago . Good time! If you want to see him for free concert, come to the NYS Fair next year, he’ll definitely be there.
That was fantastic, Allen Sherman and Herman's Hermit's with Peter Noone. I remember listening to my father's Allen Sherman album. before I ever even knew who Herman's Hermit's were. and then to find this online is definitely amazing.
Two greats from the 60's. Unique and different talents sharing a moment together.
Noone was great. That is for sure. No comment for the rest of your statement.
Allan Sherman was a genius with lyrics.
Kroonerguy ohh yeah! he was amazing! ❤
Agree
@@danniandreasen9018 really was💜💜
PETER NOONE really enjoyed this
Rest in peace, Allan...you were a uniquely hilarious talent.........thanks for posting!
I saw this the first time around and never forgot it. So glad someone downloaded it!
Just saw Peter (age 74) spring of 2022 in Oxford Alabama. He put on a fantastic show!
A rare and fun clip from a much more innocent and happy era.
I had the opportunity to meet Alan Sherman who was signing autographs at Shopper's World in Chicago/Lincolnwood in 1965. I can remember 54 years later his white shirt, black tie, & smile. I was the last person in line with my mother. He got up & left after he signed. He did not live long. RIP
My parents bought our Alan Sherman albums at that very Shoppers World!
What a joy between Allan and Peter on this sort of collaboration. Something that is very rarely ever done anymore. Hope that there are a lot more of these RUclips videos.
Being a Mancunian I always liked Peter Noone. He had a lovely personality which you can see here.
Brilliant just brilliant 👍👍peter so cute
OMG, two of my favorite performers. That was fabulous!
Just finished reading Mark Cohen's bio of Allan Sherman. A brilliant man who had a bad childhood who never got a grasp on being an adult. Died way too young indeed.
Brilliant. No other way to describe him
AGREED!
I still have my original 45 of "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh"
Hilarious! Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thanks from me as well.
that was adorable
I found this from Peter Noone's site. This is funny; thanks for posting it!
ty for sharing! I love all things Allan Sherman, even if it was my grandparents generation
Sticky Wicket! That always breaks me up!! How peiceless, and for the band members to be included and play along, too.
I didn't know this existed!
Wow! Charming and hilarious. Thanks knoon!
Love it! I well remember Alan Sherman. But I have never heard of this show.
I have never seen that! Thanks a million for sharing!
this is great
This is really good. I laughed a lot.
What joy🤗
2:01 hilarious!!!!😂🤣😂🤣☺️😂🤣💜💜💜love it!!🤣😂
3:04 That should be "I shall POST this letter, later". Even Lerner and Lowe got it wrong when they wrote "Stamp me and MAIL me" in "Get Me To The Church on Time".
Episode aired 11 September 1965
Fantastic !
What fun to run across this.
This is a true treasure - the verse to "Muddah, Faddah" is NOT in the original song!
this line is actually from the sequel song Return to Camp Granada
Mike Minick is right- you can find the sequel here on RUclips as well.
This was fun to watch
Priceless!
Brilliant!
Thanks
Wasn't the same guy who mocked the British Invasion with "Pop Hates the Beatles"?
What a wonder piece of 1960's nostalga. Thank you for posting it for prosterity
Yes it was
it'd be nice to see people sing live these days
Brilliant
. . .I have a magical parody pencil, but is in my mind
this is so hilariously silly I'm laughing so hard
Would rather have Noone of this guy
Sweet.
And that's how Hermy baby was born.
Guess who performed that tonsillectomy on...Ringo. ( Ringo, Ringo).
Yes he was.
Not my era, but i can dig it.
Never seen Allan perform Return to Camp Granada live
Well done Noonatic yet another gem such a great clip two artist enjoying what they do best entertain
Fantastic, also well done Mellisa hating the Beatles personal I thought they were very overrated and
Overplayed on the radio at every opportunity, I just could not stand them
Ha ha! This was cute--and funny.
👍🏻👍🏻❤️👍🏻🎼👍🏻❤️👍🏻
omg that was funny.
Allan Sherman the original "weird Al"
Brilliant!
Of course , if you actually believe they made those songs up on the spot, then I've got a city bridge to sell you... ;)
This guy played a "nerd", but he was VERY HIP!
keep playing this, its very funny....Allan Sherman died far too young.
Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pale of water. Jill forgot to take the pill now she has a duaghter.. That's the duaghter I took to the sluaghter. I gave her to Jack. I'm jack he said come with me and let's rip.. Rip. Jack the ripper...😂🤣🤣

Mrs brown you’ve a very ‘orny dawta
That was funny wunnit?
Art Jaramillo is suffering from terminal seriousness...
😅
😂
Peter "Herman" Noone was a very good sport, playing along with that joker.
I can't even imagine Sherman trying something like that with the likes of Lennon,Jagger,Townsend, etc.,huh?
And yes,he did "spoof" the British Invasion.
I can see Peter Townsend playing along with this..
My sister needs a new phonograph, she wore out all the needles. Besides I broke the old one in half. I hate the Beatles!
Like hell he doesn't know any American songs.
Sherman milking his 15 minutes of fame.
