Allan Sherman was a great talent who passed away very young.

Wow! You just don't see this kind of quality of talent anymore on TV. It's a real treat to see celebrities get together to do numbers like this.

My mother owned many of his albums and I grew up listening to them. Him and The Smothers Brothers and Homer and Jethro.

Love Dino & love Allan Sherman ! It's great to see them together!
I grew up listening to both of them! During a serious illness ,the laughter from listening to all of Allan Sherman's records was the best medicine for me & helped me overcome my struggles!
Between Dean Martin's handsome face & great voice,& Allan Sherman's genius, I could not ask for more! May these two icons rest in peace! Talent like theirs does not seem to exist anymore! Thanks for this great video!

Today's yoots will never know what quality entertainment is. We should all cry bitter tears for what was, and will never be again.

It was probably the network censors who made him change "bladder" to "backbone." But they kept in the Lenny Bruce reference, which is hilarious if you know about his reputation for vulgarity at the time.

His comedy style was just excellent. A combination of very Jewish humor and a vocal and writing style of a parody of a no class guy singing popular songs.

I wonder what was with those pants on Allen Sherman? "Maternity pants," Dean jests. You can see his knees poke through between 1:15 and 1:20 ... Were they "trick" pants or something... maybe for a gag or skit they did later in the show?
