Words fail me. I haven't the vocabulary to describe the sheer musical genius from all concerned. Simply wonderful. Thank you all,
This is precious ! A jewel to be kept on my special box.
her phasing is so ..mature .. and what a terrific accompaniment - what a band !
The clarinet intro sends chills up my spine.
Excellent group. Congrats Joan.I love the sound of the group. Brilliant arrangement. The singer is unbelievable.
Supreme voicing Joan and Andrea, this orchestra is magical, beautiful arrangement. Thank you.
Andrea really nails it.
Beautiful tune. The bass clarinet really backed Andrea nicely.
One of my favourite songs played beautifully. Thank you for calming my soul. Andrea is angelic.
Excellent simply pure excellence Joan and Andrea et al!
Sung and played with a delicacy that reflects the story that the lyrics portray. Delightful!
Great arranger and multi instrumentalist. What you have is a jazz conservatory.
The magic of the bass clarinet. See Chamorro - Sail Away / Velejar for another.
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo !!!
Andrea really knows how to sing a ballad like very few can and at the age of 18. What an amazingly talented young woman!
Beautiful! Great orecastration...Not an easy tune and Andrea does it so very well.
Simplemente hermoso y refinado. Lo mejor.
Wow! Love this.
I am in Heaven, one of my favourite songs.
Perfecte fills meus. Un barretasso per a tots.
Enchanting performance based upon superbly fine arrangement, beautiful tone of Joan bass ;-) and this amazing little girl blue in the front line who makes us believe in whatever she sings, no matter that her English fails her occassionally ...
I have concluded that the way the SAJB singers handle English is just enchanting. It's their way of expressing themselves in that unfamiliar language. Nothing wrong here at all. I just watched this video for the first time. Absolutely poignant and beautiful in every way. Thanks.
Mr. Parks,
I can't begin to agree with you more. Her English is flawless. And the warmth of the bass clarinet is perfect. But as we across rhe pond used to say, she could sing the Manhattan phone book and would see a million
Oh, and by the way what's the difference between alto and bass clarinet,
Lush harmonies. beautiful.
Superbe ! Et la "petite" toujours aussi musicienne... Quels talents chez Joan et ses élèves !
Un arreglo fuera de serie! 👏
Beautifully done . The bass clarinet anchors the reeds/ woodwinds section. Congrats Joan. Echoes of Gil Evans.
Beautiful sax solo, sublime!
Sublime gets it for the entire presentation.
wow!!!
Andrea impressed me in this video particularly. (as almost always)
But you also - Joan
This never gets old. It’s the best rendition of the tune I’ve ever heard.
Chet Baker's is great too.
This has to go down as one of the great sax solos. It’s just brilliant!!!
Bravo
un des meilleurs sax. , bassiste, directeur et arrangeur de bands espagnol en collaboration aujourd'hui avec Andrea Motis : jeune chanteuse de 20 ans et spécialiste trompette et tous types de saxo: une vraie étoile qui monte... ET A UNE VITESSE;;;;
Scoth a’ cheoil! La mejor versión cantada q he escuchado 😃
Exquisite!
Excellent!!!♥♥♥
Another tune for a future Bass Clarinet Rhapsody CD.
Your comment seems to suggest that there is one out there already. If that it so, I'd love to hear it.
@@roncannell4665 I would love to have Joan combine the videos in which he plays the bass clarinet. One example would be the one with Velejar, Tom Harrell's Sail Away in Portugues.

Another is with Elia Au Lado teu

I wasn't over impressed with the orchestration, too much Joan Chamorro. With all the flutes I was reminded a bit of tracks on Miles Davis' Porgy and Bess album.
In places, Andrea had to really concentrate hard to stay in tune.
It's a beautiful Rogers & Hart show tune, ably presented by Sinatra, on his "In the Wee Small Hours" album classic. An arrangement closer to that would have been more suitable. Sometimes you can be too "clever" with arrangements.
If you personally have preferences that's just fine, but why should musicians feel compelled to copy Charlie Parker or Miles Davis or other greats who came before until the end of time. How can jazz evolve if the music is always stuck in the same groove, good as that may be?
Senorita stupendous
The thrill is gone. Very nice but just another lounge singer.
Maybe for you, speak for yourself.
Senorita lovely your more than a lounge singer I could sit in the lounge all night to hear u sing
@@ferreiraronald7873 I think he speaks for himself, although maybe mistakenly assuming he represents "higher culture".
