Great video! you mentioned 5:40 that only euro spec got v8's. Actually US spec got the 380sl 450sl 420sl 300sl and lastly the 560sl (which is actually a bigger engine then what the euro had) these were all V8's 3.8 liter 4.5 liter 5.6 liter. However euro had less strict emissions so a bit more power but later 500sl's 86-89 were also affected a bit by emissions. Not to disrespect euro models whatsoever just informing you that USA and EURO spec both had V8's just us spec had stricter emissions so the intake and exhaust manifolds restricted airflow to meet the standards.
What I wanted to say was the fact that US specs with 6 cylinder engines are cheaper than US Specs with V8. Apart from that you're utterly all right. Well, the history of export policies of that time are really interesting. Thank you very much for kind words Stephan 😉
@@Classyque the 300sl which was the 6 cylinder was only sold in europe as a more fuel efficient and smoother handling model. check out the wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_R107_and_C107#European_Engines
The rear deck scoop is for the discerning few, I find it visually distracting because of its black colour. Given the opportunity to own this beautiful R107 model, I think I'd opt for the 450SLC hardtop coupé.
I was 6 in 1971 :) and have an 450 for about 22 years now
Wow, that's great to hear! ;)
They never sold 6 cylinders in the USA I think. Great video, thank you!🙂
Nice video and car. I ride 1971 350 SL stick shift.
Those taillights are the best they ever have had!
Have a 91' R129. Good stuff.
Great job mate!!! Love the video and the amount of good information shared!!! BTW nice 500sl!
Thanks a lot mate ;) I like to make the video short but intensive :D

Great video.
I love the SL series. I have two R129's and an R107 .
What a collection! Congratulations 😉
Damn dude great quality video!
Thanks a lot ;)
Spoiler back it's a charm!!
The taillights are probably mostly for snow. The inner "wall surface" would almost always stay at least partly clear.
Right, that may be also right! But the question is who uses a convertible car during winter?
Thanks a lot for comment Martin ;)
i love it

Thanks for your comment. 450 SLC would look mesmerising 😉
Nice luxury car 🚘!
Don't say ugly in the title when mentioning the R107.
Thanks for a comment however It's just a subjective opinion and a matter of taste ;)
very weak done,, stunning car
Doing my best ;)
Esse carro 🚗 de Daimler Benz teve vida longa 🎥 1971 a 1980.
The steering wheel does not look from 1982!
Well, yet it is! The car is 100% stock tbh ;)
According to BABVVO and TEBBVO sadly soon all gas cars will be banned!!!
How do you manage to pronounce every word in a contorted way? :D
Same things won't change even after years of training 😊
@@Classyque fantastic review. Keep up the good work
