Those SL were the ultimate iconic car of the rich and famous when I was a kid growing up in the late 70’s and 80’s , one of the most beautiful cars ever made , absolutely ahead of its own time , stunning design by Joseph Gallintzendörfer and Friedrich Geiger ❤️🇦🇺

I don't remember what exact product was it because we have many things in our shop so always using what works best... but if you'll google something like "plastic polish" you will find something ;)
Nothing difficult... you just need buffer, some wool pad and polish for aluminum... also you can do that by hand it will just take more time and the final result not will be exact same.
@@IAMDetailingI have a buffer. What did u use rubbing compound or polishing compound first then wet sand with steel wool wash and buff with polishing compound till it shines?
Yes, correct the pant is single stage and we using many different combinations of pads, compounds, speed and pressure. It's not about one product so unfortunately I can't answer your question.
wish you was around when i had my sl280 i regret selling it, i have allways been a SL Man i have now a SL400 /SL450 but them classic cars with the chrome had all the looks these days they look good but not like the 70s and 80s cars, When i drove my SL in the 80s i use to get looks now it seems even if you have the top of the range you dont get the looks like before
Sometimes things happened but always I'm talking first with my clients and tryin to explain it.. and we removing only what we know how to do it. Thanks god we live in CA where is almost no rust so it's not very difficult to remove those parts.
Since this car has this classic paint (623 light ivory / hellelfenbein?) I think it would be really cool to make it look like an early 70s SL. It won't require that much, in adition to a euro bumper swap you need to remove the third brake light and change to a pre-facelift front piece under the bumper. And then there is the wheels, 14" won't fit because of the larger brakes but 15" steel hubcaps (from W123 / W115 limo) on W126 steel rims will look almost identical. Except for the 1" larger wheels it will look exactly like a 1971 350SL.

Timeless design. Sexiest body Mercedes ever made.
My ‘87 560SL needs exactly this detail and original showroom shine.

Very nice. That 560SL was a nice car before you started, and exceedingly nice afterward.
That last 10% improvements takes time.
