    Hi Sonya. I’m not Jewish, but I so admire your culture. It is so beautiful that you stop everything once a week to spend time with the family and with God. What a beautiful tradition. Love watching you prepare food with your precious children. I look forward to your next video.

      I am so grateful for Shabbat- the 1 day where everything goes away and we just focus on the important things in our lives- family.

    • @lesliedeleon2192
      @lesliedeleon2192 Месяц назад

      Hi Nikkkir you can incorporate that tradition in to your life too! God created in 6 days and the 7th day He rested. Is not a good example for us to stop? He did not need to rest but is written for us to follow that example. He knew that we need it. Do doble amount of food to have for shabat. Little by little.

    Shalom Sonja! Isn't it great that now we have the stand mixers so no more messy hands! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Your children are absolutely adorable! My children used to love to bake with me, too. And of course before I got my stand mixer I had to knead my bread, too - and let me tell you that one loaf was almost gone while it was still warm. NOW, I promised my Optometrist some Challah bread - so I have to do that before my next appointment! Ha Ha Ha Ha. Bless you and your beautiful family, Sonja! Still working on the 4 braid Challah.

    Last night I made challah for the first time following this recipe and it turned out SO GOOD! My family called it a show stopper and devoured the majority of 1 loaf with dinner. This morning for breakfast I sliced it, put a little butter on each side, then toasted them in a pan to go with breakfast and oh my goodness! What a way to start the day! Sonya thank you so much for sharing your life and recipes!

    What a weekend we had traying out Challah recipes and this one is our favorite! It is delicious! Had a little trouble with the dough being very sticky when we first tried to roll it out...by the 3rd loaf we decided to add a little flour as we rolled it out...any other suggestions on how to get it a little more "formed"?

      Yay!! I’m so happy you loved it. I place my completely cool challahs into a plastic bag sealed well. On Shabbat I heat it on a warming tray and it’s perfect. They also freeze really well. When I’m ready to use them, I defrost the challah. Wrap in foil and heat on a warming tray or oven. Comes out super fresh.

    • @SonyasPrep

      Hi, I use this recipe specifically because it is so quick and simple to make, especially while being a busy mom. It doesn’t sacrifice the taste as it comes out perfectly soft and delicious.

  • @AnnaRvlogs

    Hi what language so you speak and where are you from. I am Jewish and make challah using half bread flour and half all purpose. Then I oil my hands to need and braid. I add oil before flour. I use a kitchen aid mixer to mix the water and yeast that already rose after adding it together with sugar then I add eggs
    After mixing I add oil the. Flour. I don't do 5 pounds of flour. I do 2 cups of bread flour and 2 cups of all purpose flour. I wonder why one would do 5 pounds of flour.

    • @SonyasPrep
      @SonyasPrep  3 года назад +2

      Great question! We do 5 lbs because there is a specific blessing that is recited when making that amount specifically.
