- Today’s adventure took place over three days, from Winchester to the backwoods of Page County, and some of it during a “post tropical cyclone,” and its aftermath. It starts with us finding a few geocaches in Winchester, checking out rising flood waters, then getting rerouted due to washed out roads. Then we check out the remains of Catherine Furnace, an old iron works, built in 1846. Finally, we explore the town of Shenandoah and the site of another former iron works turned public park. It was as always a fun few days of exploring the world we live in. Thanks for coming along, we really appreciate it, and don’t forget to like, subscribe and all of that other stuff!

Wombats, Lanternflies, and Mosquitoes! Oh my! “Watch and learn, daddy.” Those boys and their sayings.
I hear “watch and learn” easily once a day. The “wildlife” is intense out there, especially the wombats!
How exactly does a toothbrush “spring up.”
We spring load the kids toothbrushes just to make things interesting. Some days they grab the toothbrushes and into the air they go, some days they just sit there. It’s always surprising. Hah.
Catherine Furnace is amazing. It does look like something out of Tolkien. Did you ever figure out what was giving you the heebs?
No, I never did. Probably a bear watching me. It’s happened before and that’s what it was.
Watch that first step. It’s a doozy!
Tell me about it. Brought back memories of that time I was searching for the I of the hurricane down by the James. My back hurt for weeks.
