One thing that helps me learn a new scale is understanding how it's made up and how it varies from one I already know.
That's an excellent way to go. Especially thinking about it in context to a major scale.
I learned the major scale and kinda move it around, I think I might be playing different scsles or modes but I'm not sure.
Modes can be tricky to get your head around!!!
For YEARS I was convinced I had read that the minor pentatonic was the ONLY scale for rock .
I think a lot of players believe that. I know I did for a long time!!!! 🫣🫣
I learned the minor scale before the major scale and I blame Santana
Yep, dam you Santana and your sweet sweet sounds 🎸🍬🍬🎶🎵😎
I think the minor scale gets used way more than any other in the world of rock and metal!!
