I've been working on this stuff myself a lot lately and it's really helped me so I hope it helps everyone else trying to learn to use the major scale in a more musical way.
Thank you this is sooo helpful! Lately i’ve been learning how to play solos and improvised. Sometimes when I play along with back track my brain just go blank and forgot all of the shape. When that happen (all the time tbh) I just go with my ear and feelings
Great video. All the guitar channels : * voice volumelevel :5 * guitar volumelevel: 10 Makes you toggle volume on your phone up and down, to prevent tinnitus on the guitar parts, and hearing what's being said.
Thanks for all the great ideas. Like many, I'm stuck in all of these scale patterns. I really liked the idea of playing through all of the triad shapes. I'm going to start working on that right now!
_What Do I Do With All These Scales - The Major Scale_ Many thanks for this. After watching many _learning lead guitar videos_ , yours is the 1st that actually explains this.
Hi, I really enjoyed to see the triad shapes within a major scale shape! Can you go further on that lesson? It helped me a lot to be aware of the chords being played. Thanks!
GuitarLessons 😎 well I just played over the backing track about 6 times. Played on 1st and 2nd string between 5th and 15th frets using 5, 7 & 8 as my “home” position. Nice clean amp setting with some plate reverb and it was like my little piece of heaven to unwind after work. Thanks again.
Could You talk with us about harmonic Major's functional harmony...and modal :> because,we can make few different chords on some degrees of ionian b6 :) so many rootles dominants we have there, but only one is diatonic... We must investigate it :D how to live with harm.Major, in practice :>
Hi Nate. Hope u can answer this pls. Bit confused. Say i have a simple chord progression of G C and D CHORDS. Does that mean i play G MAJOR scale over all these chords.. OR Do i play G MAJOR scale over G CHORD C MAJOR SCALE over C CHORD etc.. Hope that makes sense. Thanks
If g major is the key then you would use f major scale. The other chords put together form the sound characteristic of the key of g. So yes the g major scale over all the chords.
Forget this. Learn licks from your favourite artists and vary them. And be careful to emphasise the right notes when you move to F (in key of C) and G. Most importantly work on your ear all the time. Never let your fingers lead except for when you are experimenting to find new sounds.
I trust this man because he has big strong arms.
Agreed
Lol
I trust him because he has PRS and Marshall in this video. Good taste is just as important as theory knowledge! Lol
prolly cus he does a lotta fingering
This is by far the best video about how to approach scales when soloing.

I’ve been trapped in the major scale shapes for like 2 years. Thank you for this
It gets so hard getting out of just the scale and actually make music!
Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks! This was exactly the link I needed to get in between scales and jamming.

this channel is so good if not for the low volume when they talk it's either they don't have mic or they do but they don't talk into it
Tricep game is strong🎯
Very very helpful tips. Thank's man. Keep on sharing your knowledge. God bless.
Really helpfull! So when combining scales you just try to use bits and pieces?
And what a beautiful guitar! Is it a PRS?
Yeah, limiting your choices out of a big scale shape can help make things more manageable when starting out. Yep, it's PRS S2 Semihollow.
Great video. Had to try it out right away!
WOW this is such an eye opener. Many thanks :)
This was a great lesson al the way around. Thank you.

Practicing it this way helps me remember which note is for which particular chord better than just running the scales. Good video!
