  • Mako is the headlining roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. This Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coaster is the tallest and fastest coaster in Orlando. But how does it stack up to the other B&M hypers? Find out in this review!

    Mako is the roller coaster that made me overcome my fear of letting go of the restraints. Because of it, I now ride every coaster with my hands up. It's just such a good ride. I always make sure to ride it more than 5 times every time I visit. Back row all day!!

    This roller coaster should win an award for having the most POVs on RUclips! 🤣 All jokes aside this was a great review and I regret not riding it when I visited SeaWorld Orlando last

    Yay, I love Mako so much! It's very rare for me to give such high praise to a B&M, but that just shows how amazing this ride is. That 5-second sustained airtime hill is one of my favorite airtime moments on any coaster, especially in the front, as it's more sustained there. It's my favorite in Florida for now, and if not for my strange love of wing coasters, it would be my favorite B&M.

    Sea World Orlando needed this. Not just cause of blackfish but they needed more airtime at that park and boy they sure got it. What an absolutely fantastic fit, the layout is so good. The presentation is stunning with the color scheme, the themeing, and the setting of the first half riding around and over the water. The airtime is truly glorious compared to other B&M Hypers and just as sustained. And it's not just camelbacks, a speed hill, small wavy turns, hammerhead turn, and other unique elements that few hypers have. The second half looks like the only downside to this ride in terms of forces but it still shines in the presentation department.

    during those two twists, I imagine that’s because of your movement away from the train’s center of rotation. Pretty cool!

    Rode Mako for the first time yesterday. Yeah it's awesome. I rode it 4 times. It was pretty much a walk on every time, no lines at all even with only 1 train running, was surprised. That very first airtime hill is just nuts actually. Love it so much. Great airtime the whole ride till the mid course breaks. WIsh the mid course didn't slow it down so much but oh well.

  • @Kittyhat
    @Kittyhat 11 месяцев назад

    The point about the 7 car hypers being more consistent across the train is true, ride this thing in the middle to appreciate the perfect way it sustains airtime for as long as possible over those 3 untrimmed straight hills. Very unique feeling especially with no seatbelt

    Mako was a huge surprise for me when I rode it in 2018. The airtime was absolutely fantastic! I loved the layout and the setting is great to. My favorite element is the wave turn where it feels you will be dumped out of the ride.

    This is my homepark and I love Mako! I haven't been on every B&M hyper yet in America, but this one is easily my favorite. Also, I usually have quick queue and I have always requested what row I wanted. Kraken only ride where they specifically had row 2 and row 7 blocked off for quick queue, but if no one is in the last row, they'll let you go where you want.

  • @Paolo8772

    Mako looks so good, especially because of the way you describe it. It's also the furthest state from where I live (except Hawaii) and I've never been to either state. I've also never been on any B&M hyper, whether it has a drop less than 200' or over 300' or anything in between. All of that over-romanticizes Mako for me. Great video, thanks for posting!

  • @thequackenscoasterchannel2927

    Oodles of airtime is the perfect description of this ride. The first half as you mentioned is quite amazing, I just wish the ride sustained that quality air after the mid-course. Despite this, it's my favorite B&M hyper and sits nicely in my top 10

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  3 года назад

      I agree. That's why I may take Candymonium over this for the US B&M hypers.

  • @Thuggysmurf
    @Thuggysmurf 2 года назад

    Thorough review of each ride element. I've only ridden the B&M hyper/gigas in the U.S., but have this ranked at #2 behind Fury. They do everything right on this ride. The ops are top-notch. Have only seen trains stack when there's a larger guest having an issue with restraints. On the wall they have an electronic seat chart that lights up green so it's easy for the operators to see when someone is strapped in sufficiently, speeding up dispatches. The end section of Mako isn't elite, but I'm still glad they made it that way because it is fun to watch that section of the ride from the paddle boats in the lake right below.
    I haven't experienced trouble accessing the front row using Quick Queue, but maybe that's just been good luck (I get assigned on Kraken though). I've ridden Mako 16 times in a day before, and 6 times in a row without getting off (prior to noon, harder to do in afternoon). The quantity of rides per hour you can get on this coaster is part of the appeal relative to other B&M Hypers.
    Mako "makes the park" in the same way that Fury does for Carowinds - like if Sea World Orlando didn't have Mako, there wouldn't be much incentive to revisit. Mako also has the Sea World chain's best restaurant right next door (underwater shark aquarium restaurant) and a solid rapids ride on the other side, making it enjoyable to just hang out in this area of the park most of the day.
    For me, Mako blows Candymonium out of the water. Not just the ride itself, but 1) Candymonium ops are unreasonably slow, 2) Candymonium's merge point for Fast Track still results in a 20 minute wait, while Mako's quick queue puts you right into the station. Candymonium during early entry at Hersheypark is pretty nice though, able to marathon, gotta give credit there.

    I just rode this tonight Halloween 2021 at night and it in nothing short of savage lines were nonexistent and we got 4 back to back rides that makes everything else very tame I thought the second half only seems weaker because the first half is so intense and sets the bar incredible high definitely best experience and the ride at night just proliferated all of the rises sensations the airtime is really unnerving the first time since it gives you way more than you experience from any other ride. Pure bliss! If I had to choose to only be able to go to one ride for the rest of my life the mako is an easy choice I honestly have no need to go on anything else just perfect! Heaven on earth!

    Great review. The first camelback reminds me of the one on Shambhala at Port Aventura which I think is even more sustained. It's normally the first park I do in Orlando as it's pretty laid back, but has a stacked line up.

    My #1 coaster for 3 years, until Fury 325 and Lightning Rod came along. It’s my “channel” logo and I might even consider getting a tattoo of it 1 day! Absolutely love this coaster! Front row is great for the speed hill, and following portions before the end. Back row is great for everything else before the speed hill; that drop is AMAZING, and of course the 5 second hill is very memorable IMO. 9/10 for me, haven’t ridden VelociCoaster yet, but I will soon, I know it will be better than Mako.

    Good review! I love Mako but I still prefer Nitro to both this and Candy. Nitro has basically the same first half but with a double helix instead of the speed hill (which I much prefer) and then the second half is wayyyy better. Not to mention it's height and setting add more to it as well. Candy is super close with Nitro but it's also much shorter so I tend to lean Nitro for that reason. I anticipate Diamondback to be my favorite though, whenever I finally get to ride it 🙌

    I like your videos they're pretty good. Much better than most of the other douchebags with coaster channels. However B and M Hypers are all pretty much the same. Like I've said for years, you give people the Pepsi challenge and blindfold them and put them onMost people won't be able to tell you one from the next.I give bnm credit, Because just like in the ice cream community you need to have a vanilla. Everybody needs a vanilla and that's B and M. Nothing incredibly groundbreaking, nothing unique, most Innovations, and that's a word I'm using generously, are generally toned down copies of other manufacturers innovations. H*** their whole business model was copied off of their previous Employer. All the way down to the track... At the risk of being too negative here, I just hate all the credit B and M gets Because it's really easy to do what they do whenever other coaster manufacturerDoes the trial and errors and you just copy is the final product
