I first watched this movie with my grandpa. I was 3 when the movie came out and I watched it a year or two later since at 3 my attention span wasn't that big. I watched it with my grandpa and it became our movie. I loved it so much that I watched it all the time and even got Tron toys. To this day I still enjoy watching this movie with my grandpa.

People always talk about what happens in a movie but for me remembering how something happens or remembering a movie visually is also important too. It’s sad that the visuals are the only thing I can remember well for this movie. The director deserved a better script.
I don’t think it was a poor script so much as it needed a longer run time. It’s hard to feel immersed in this beautiful world if we only see a small glimpse of it. This also applies to character development. I would have loved a 3 hour run time.

This movie had one of the best uses of 3d in the theater. Nothing was 3d until Sam was pulled into the grid. It gave this really intense sensation that the world had drastically changed as soon as it happens.
First time seeing Sam rising up to the arena, with the soundtrack slightly increases as he rises, the audience cheering up and the entire arena changing shape to prepare for Disc Wars was probably one of the best scenes ive seen on the big screen. Honestly, im super pumped for Tron 3 even without probably the actors that did this movie and yes... Even without Daft Punk themselves (rip :C).
Then rensler flexes by doing a triple midair spin dodge lands and poses then drops himself just a bit for the extra flex and avoids the rebound disc then just looks at him like yeah I just did that what about it
i think it has the same purpose like Taekwondo, it's for confuse the enemy. Sometimes taekwodoin take so much steps before attack to confuse their enemies
This was one of the movies that was definitely worth watching in 3D and this scene was one of the great instances that showed why. When he first gets transported into the world and the lightcycle battle were other great moments showcasing that.
Was it in 3D? I don’t remember that. The big deal with this film was that it was partially shot in IMAX 70mm. The parts where the aspect ratio change here would’ve appeared even more square than 16:9; it was _epic._

Idk how much of it was an intentional design choice and how much was a natural consequence of the digital world having more CG so the effect was able to be integrated more, but either way it made for a noticeable and awesome extra sense of depth in that world. Hard to explain but it was dope. 😄
Agreed. Disney did the original when there was a major change in technique. The 3D in this was awesome. They did the 3D to make certain things stand out. Not everything all at once. A banister here, a car there, bushes. It was artistic.

@@InjusticeJosh I think he was talking about the first and second guys who got killed, not Rinzler. Also, Rinzler technically can't kill Flynn. The disc is suppose to automatically kill programs by a simple touch of the edges. But since Flynn isn't a program, all the disc can really do is scratch him.
Of all the things that gets stuck in my mind about the scene, it’s that small dodging of the returning disk that always gets me, like, the first dodge, cool, but to have the spatial awareness, knowledge etc. to know to dodge just at the right time? Amazing.

I was totally captivated by this film. I was lucky to go to Disneyland when they where promoting it. They had a version of Flynn's Arcade. Also rode Space Mountain while listing to The Game Has Changed on my headphones. It made the ride that much more awesome.
I REMEMBER THAT OH MY GOD! There were a bunch of stunt performers throwing the lightdisks and I wish I had more time to play in Flynn’s arcade, I just played rampage, it was so fun, good memories

Imagine how friggin uncomfortable those outfits were. They were custom-designed to tightly conform to their bodies, to match the aesthetic of all clothes forming onto programs’ bodies.
The music and aesthetic was just perfect and iconic. Love this movie Soo much! The Disc battle was Soo stylish and funny and this music by Daft Punk was just too cool and hearttouching.

I'd love to live in the Tron world for at least a day. I hope someone or some company can build something like this. I don't think making those hovering glass objects will happen in our lifetime but the lights and the aesthetic designs inside Tron would be so cool to get a feel in. I feel like it could be possible to make a lightbike area and a disc wars area for people to take part in -- obviously without it killing anyone lol.

3:54 I never noticed he tried to pull off that breaking-the-floor trick he used in his first fight but Rinzler just positions his feet to avoid falling through the hole and then the hole repairs itself as they’re fighting upside down. God damn this movie was so cool.
The fact that this has the same plot as ant man 3, came over a decade earlier, and still surpassed in music, emotion, writing, dialogue, humor, and especially VFX quality

I was totally captivated by this film. I was lucky to go to Disneyland when they where promoting it. They had a version of Flynn's Arcade. Also rode Space Mountain while listing to The Game Has Changed on my headphones. It made the ride that much more awesome.

Imagine how friggin uncomfortable those outfits were. They were custom-designed to tightly conform to their bodies, to match the aesthetic of all clothes forming onto programs’ bodies.
How did this not get an Oscar for best visual effects
The music and aesthetic was just perfect and iconic. Love this movie Soo much! The Disc battle was Soo stylish and funny and this music by Daft Punk was just too cool and hearttouching.
