Despite how wonderful every version of this song is, I still prefer the recording on Abraxas. Carlos is the walking definition of smooth. His strength was creating the perfect guitar riff, simple but gorgeous, and working form there. He was never a member of the "I gotta play more notes faster than anybody else." Thank heaven.
The first "rock" instrumental that actually brought me to tears (the studio version). I remember back in 1971, driving on country roads up in the hills SW of Wheeling, West Virginia. I had the windows open, and the studio version of Samba Pa Ti came on the radio. It reached right in and touched that part of me I thought only some poems and paintings could reach. It always does. 🥲🎶🎵
Translated means Samba for you, from the 1970 album Abraxas, Santana said this was the first recording that truly expressed himself. This was the first single of Santana to break into the UK market. This is another masterpiece with wonderful blends from the organ and Carlo's undeniable guitar work. 🎸🎸🎸 Timeless wonderment. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Agnete. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Been Santana fan since the late 60’s. I’ve chilled to this song during sunrise on the East coast USA and sunsets on West coast of USA multiple times. It always leaves my with a transformative relaxed state of being. Carlos is one of a rare few you recognize immediately upon hearing. He truly makes his guitars speak to your soul. Thx Harri. ❤ your channel.
This is the best Santana track ever. He does great with the live version but the studio version has a permanent place in my heart. This Orion by Metallica and Marooned by Pink Floyd are my top 3 rock instrumentals.
Santana makes his talk and sing when he plays,, no need for words, and the band are just sublime, got to be one of the all time great tunes and Artists of all time. Fantastic vibe.
Hari, listen to the Santana album called Abraxas, this song is on there , that is the best version ever and the entire album is fired. It’s one of the best albums ever. If you want some Latin jazz listen to their album called Moonflower it is also one of the greatest.
This looks like when they brought back elements of the Woodstock Era band - Greg Rolie on keys, possibly Michael Shrieve on drums...didn't see the bass player....
Great song, this and Europa are 2 of my favorite Santana songs. He also played on at least 1 Gato Barbieri album. His guitar and Gato's sax are unbelievable together...
Samba pa ti surely an iconic song in rockmusic history.....yes.......Carlos and Gregg Rollie, the original "soundmaker" of this 1971 song from the album "Abraxas", here on this recent live performance, then you could hear this song 1000 times the day on each radio station, on each party, dancing "cheek to cheek" with a girl.....long time ago.......
Great reaction! 😃 I love this video, the drummer, keyboardist, and conga player are the original musicians that played with him at Woodstock!, so cool. 😎 Thank you Peace! 🙏
Agnete - "Samba pa ti", what a great submission!! This was a terrific performance as always by one of my favorites, Carlos Santana. You made my music listening night. Very well done, Harri,
Agnete, Carlos Santana ranks as "my" #1 guitarist of all time. I just simply feel his musical spirit. He has always surrounded himself with top shelf talent as well. Thank you Agnete. Beautiful choice. 👋👋👋
When I was a freshman in University, I used to come home on weekends and go to a local club. There was always a girl there that I had a crush on. Never got the nerve to ask her out but we would always dance to this song near the end of the evening.
Yes..My step dad played that 30 years ago..to me..I was floored..same with hendrix..I play the guitar today..because..both hendrix and satanas.the guitar sang..
Thanks Agnete and Harri for doing my favourite Santana instrumental. Have loved this since the first studio version on the "Abraxas" album. Wore that one out and had to buy a second copy, later on I got the CD too. Only thing wrong with that first version is that it's too short. Live versions are always longer but a bit different, he never does it exactly the same way twice. Love them all.
For those that don't know it, here is a sung version in Spanish by José Feliciano (in this video with Santana). Regards ruclips.net/video/_MpQ4XOO99E/видео.html
I would argue that Harri is not compelled to only react to songs he has not heard before. It is more likely he may chose to not react to a song he has already reacted to. Your membership status does not influence his option..
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard! Love Santana always have! What he makes his guitar sound like is truly spiritual!! ❤️
My all time favorite instrumental
My personal fav chill/instrumental track of all time.

You lucked out with this one brother...the talent hear is awesome! Ty brother Harri
The Great Gregg Rollie on keyboards the voice of "Black magic woman"and later a founding member of Journey.
Love this song by Santana. Thank you Agnete ❤ and Harri.
🥰🤩🤗
This channel is without a doubt, consistently, the coolest and finest entertainment on the web.. I salute you, Sir Harri. Please never change.

Fantastic
I have loved this song now for 50+ years.
Imagine being 16 in 1970 hearing Santana for the first time.🤯
His timing and rhythm are impeccable. Special. Santana!
Have loved this since the early 70s. It's just a stunning piece! Thank you!
A jewel, master guitar player…
What a chilled song . One of the master musicians since the 60,s ..A true musical god over so many decades ❤

I have loved this song since the first time I heard it.
I saw Santana three or four times in late seventies through eighties. Those live performances just transported me somewhere happy.
The live version from Mexico is amazing. And I saw him live in 78 and in a smaller venue with amazing acoustics. It was a great version then too.
Most of all I love Santana's guitar, 😍 I like this sound, you can listen to this kind of music indefinitely and you won't get tired of it.😎
I loved the original Abraxas version: it is on my repeat CD in my car. Now this live version is ear candy too.
Santana makes his talk and sing when he plays,, no need for words, and the band are just sublime, got to be one of the all time great tunes and Artists of all time. Fantastic vibe.
He doesn't play the guitar, he makes it sing.
That is a fantastic song to my ears! I have always loved it!❤❤❤
This gives me goosebumps. Such a great guitarist. The whole band is great! 🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️
Almost the Woodstock lineup!

When young I used to admire this track. However, having later become more emotionally open, I can now 'feel' the song. Life is a journey.
Carlos - always my favourite from back then.
I have been lucky enough to see Santana a few times over the years.I hav e this album. Always an outstanding player
Jaw dropping performance!😲
My favorite instrumental. Beautiful!
🔥🔥🔥

The only thing I use to dread on this song was hearing it fade out.Sounded like he was just warming and probably went on for a good while after.
Agnete - "Samba pa ti", what a great submission!! This was a terrific performance as always by one of my favorites, Carlos Santana. You made my music listening night. Very well done, Harri,
Thank you so much Dave 🙏❤️🥰 Glad you enjoyed it 🌞🤩👍 Sure looks like Harri did 😉😃😅
grande don carlos
Fantastic! Harri you’re right, when listening to this song, you need to dissect it to really appreciate it.
I was at my first Santana concert for my birthday 16 yrs old - they played this
I fell in love with this the first time I heard it.That was almost 50 years ago. Still reaches my soul every time.
Thank you Harri for a great reaction This song brings back fantastic memories 🥰💫💯👍

THE TEACHER! 🙏🏼 AT WORK 😎🤘
From the Abraxas album, I played the hell out of that album, this is is my favorite track. Roll em if you’ve got em folks! 😂
Thank you!
I think that's Gregg Rolie on keyboards!
He was in Santana before Journey
You're quite right, that is Gregg Rolie ...
song of the wind soars to the havens
Thanks Agnete. This was a great choice. I often need to be reminded of what a stunning talent CS is. Harri’s comments were spot on as usual!🌺✌️
Thank you ❤️🌞🌻
Who needs lyrics when we have Santana on the strings!
My favorite guitarist. Drop the mic. 🤘✌👍 Thank you Agnete. 👋👋👋
👍💯🥳
"Incident At Neshabur" from the same album is another great instrumental
Carlos definitely has his own style and sound all his own. You definitely know it’s him if you don’t have a visual.
Don´t tell us you´have never heard this one before!!!!! 😃😃 That´s Carlos Santana!
Harribest knew the studio version, had not seen the live.....
@@agnetesorensenelbom5085 yep I heard him saying that!

Great tune! While we are on Latin rock, check out Marc Anthony’s “I Need To Know”.

Thank you, allways loved JF this is beautifull
Just a lot of feedback on guitar not much to it
There's no need for lyrics with Carlos when he makes the guitar sing.👀👀
Some songs sound better live, some others sound better in its original (older) release version. I prefer the latter.
I like the studio version better.
Harri can only react to songs / music he has not heard before. He chose the live version as he knew the album version.
I'm not sure how that changes my opinion of which version I prefer of the two.
@@BlizzardSeeker As a member I can make request to Harri, I offered both Studio and Live version. It was just an explanation.

@@BlizzardSeeker All I know is that we are asked to find another song, if he knows it. If its RUclips who set the rule?
Here goes a vocal version of that fabulous classic: ruclips.net/video/fDP_lmdic84/видео.html
Very interesting 🤔😅❤️ Nicely done 🌞🙏😊
Studio version much better.
It's NOT a song ffs
