Europa is an all time favorite of mine. It must be heard.

That beach would have been in Brazil. Samba is a Brazilian rhythm. But, oh, yes, definitely, man . Santana has that Latin feel to him. He's got that Mexican background, though he's born here .

Absolutely lovey song by a great artist.
My house is on the side of a hill looking over the valley I own, SO... I have two JBL 12 inch speakers mounted outside facing the valley. Sometimes I turn them on. There is only one neighbor 1/4 mile away, occasionally he'll call and tell me he liked the tune I was playing. this is one of those tunes he likes as much as everyone else.

When my son was an older teen - early 20’s, I would gift him classic rock albums. Santana was one of those bands. Not long after they did their comeback album he was able to be the music aficionado and say to his friends: You don’t know Santana?! You need to check out their early years. 😎
I’ll add "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va", 2 very well known songs, to the suggestions. Their Woodstock performance is an absolute must!
Agreed! Plus Europa. So many other artists have had their way with that tune and I think I have liked them all. There are some especially good contemporary jazz covers of Europa. It’s banger live, catches people off guard with its slow build up.
I saw Santana open for The Rolling Stones in 1981 and again as the headliner around 2016. Awesome, awesome nights both times.

@@AstiJay I think you will like it. First link is Santana doing it live in 1976. Second is saxophonist Richard Elliot live in 2017. Both are great. I promoted many concerts in the 90 featuring Richard.

React to the 1969 Woodstock long drum version of SOUL SACRIFICE, the one with nekked hippies. It was where Carlos Santana introduced Afro/Latino fusion for the first time to the world and the world loved it
Just a little correction This is Santana the rock band not solo Carlos Santana. Santana was a great rock band with of course Carlos on lead guitar. It also included a world class drummer Mike Shrieve and a world class percussionist in Jose Chepitos Areas aa well as Greg Rolie on keyboards who was also the lead singer and went on to form Journey. My point is this was a complete band not just Carlos Santana
I have had the great JOY of seeing Santana Live 4 Times from the 70’s -- 2016. Always an awesome show. The entire crowd is up and moving the entire time. The last time Jeff Beck was with him and did a 20 minute version of this song to close the show.
Try Smooth by Santana with Rob Thomas on vocals. Pure magic!

You MUST...I SAID MUST not make the same mistake as Led Zeppelin Heartbearker-Livin Lovin Maid....Not your fault, you did not know the history, BUT this time YOU MUST DO.... "Black Magic Women" followed immediately by "Oye Como Va". That is how MILLIONS are used to hearing them together, OR we will all tell you about it,,,, again.
You didn't really get much Dead on vinyl , But Santana more than made up for that fact in the UK
