I would recommend his performance at Woodstock (1969). That would be a great reaction. Welcome to the world of Carlos Santana! His music has been a staple in my playlist for over 50 years. Thank you for your reaction, it was enlightening to see a young person experience Santana for the first time. Blessings!
Yes I hardly could agree more with these guys here Biss! soul sacrifice Woodstock 1969. Pay attention also to the young drummer he was the youngest player at Woodstock at 19 years old Michael was a phenomenal drummer even at that young age. By the way they were high as a kite at this performance there’s a backstory to that but too much to go into here lol!
Absolutely1 +1 Pwople don't realize today, but Santana most probably was the first 3rd world rockstar ever. The Woodstock performance is so much better than his performances since the 90s, because he phrased totally different later. Probably to not get bored 🙂 The Woodstock performance is also remarkable because of a 16 year old drummer, whom he features, so much talent at this performance.
I had the pleasure of jamming with him about 25 years ago. I play the drums, and just being in his presence was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
Just cruising thru RUclips and saw your vlog. Damn you are pretty. I took love this song by Santana. Keep up the fantastic work. Gilcortez from Texas (USA).Adios.
"Samba Pa Ti" - Samba For You. It always seemed so. It was like he played for the individual in the audience. Welcome to the world of Carlos...BTW - the "thingies" are called maracas. PRS is his guitar choice.
Hi from Monterrey Mexico Samba pa ti It is a song in samba rhythm dedicated to God in the moment of most suffering and redemption of a person. here are the lyrics Samba pa ti ( Samba for you ) I am the shadow of a sorrow I am the echo of a pain sad loneliness What's left for me today? The memory that I loved you And a strange desolation, I am the shadow of a sorrow I am the echo of a pain I want to forget I want to find forgiveness Have mercy on my heart I implore you, Oh my lord I will erase the darkness And I will hide my crying The memory that I suffer It will become a song I will come back to life I will sing again, you'll see I will come back to life I will sing again, you'll see
I'm 69 year old in the year 2023, and my son was conceived listening to this song many years ago with an ex partner. whom I truly loved...she sadly passed away in 2019. The emotion and passion of Carlos Santana's guitar playing will always keep her in my heart.
You MUST hear "Soul Sacrifice" (LONG VERSION, ITS' A MUST) live version from Woodstock 1969. They were practically unknown then, but surely things changed after that participation. A timeless classic!
Finaly you reacted to Carlos Santana. He ist a living legend for more than 50 years now. He and his guitar are one, his guitar really sings and expresses so many emotions. This music always brings me in a very good mood and I feel happy. Some other very great songs you should enjoy: - Black Magic Woman - Maria Maria - Smooth - Europa - Jingo - Oye Como Va
Love this song. Heard it the first time in 1970 in a funky bar (the sink) in Boulder, Colorado where I was a student. It brought tears to my eyes, it was so beautiful.
It’s a Paul Reid Smith guitar. The 1969 performance at Woodstock is the seminal performance and its live, like a crafted volcanoes of pure passion from his whole group as a collective, called Soul Sacrifice.

Santana is an American Latin rock band formed in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist & songwriter Carlos Santana. They played at Woodstock in 1969. They have had a lot of great songs & instrumental rock tracks over the years such as "Jingo", "Evil Ways", "Black Magic Woman", "Soul Sacrifice", "Oye Coma Va", "Everybody's Everything", "The Game Of Love", "Hope You're Feeling Better" etc. The song "Smooth" & "Maria Maria" were done later in 1999 & rejuvenated the career of Santana.
Do you mean Woodstock? Santana didn't play Monterey pop. They were playing the Fillmore in SF that weekend, opening for the Who. Woodstock was their first major appearance in '69.
The guy playing keyboards is Greg Rolle who would later form Journey in 1973. Neil Schon who is the last original member of Journey also played with Santana as a teenager.

🇨🇦 Probably in the top ten Guitarists in History ! I have been trying to get you to react to his Woodstock version of 'Soul Sacrifice' for a long time ! This is a very deep rabbit hole !
I got to see Carlos at the House of Blues a few years ago. I noticed then that he used 4 different guitars during the evening. Not going to pretend I know the why and rational for that but obviously it meant a lot to Mr Santana. Different tools for different jobs I assume.
Carlos Santana is 75 years old now. He played a couple of times at the famous Jazzfestival in Montreux/Switzerland. His most popular songs are Oye Como Va and Black Magic Woman.
However those were just commercial successes. HIS GREATEST MUSIC WAS AFTER HIS SPIRITUAL AWAKENING. CARVANSERI, WELCOME, BARBOLETTA, ONENESS, BLUES FOR SALVADOR, MOONFLOWER, EUROPA were his crowning achievements. Oye como va and Black Magic woman have been beaten to death and are boring commercial successes in comparison.
Hi there. Carlos Santana became worldly famous on the 60s Woodstock festival. You could take a look at his debut. Specialy "Soul sacifice". "Evil ways ""Black Magic woman" and this one are early classics from them ✌take care
That guitar was manufactured by PRS company from Maryland. One of the top guitar manufacturers in the world. You need to watch one of Santana's performance of his famous "Soul Sacrifice" song when he was in his early 20s performed at Woodstock concert in 1969. Enjoy and react to this musical live performance.😊
I saw Carlos Santana several times in my 75 years of living and always enjoyed his music and stage presence. Wish I could go back to the sixties and seventies when we had amazing music, groups and great times. Now I’m approaching the end and I’m glad I had the chance to witness these great bands and musicians.
A milk company here in New Zealand used to use Samba Pa Ti as the ad music. Spent about 15 years having no idea what the song was, but I had that ad recorded and would play it over and over.
it was a constant part of the "slow rounds" in disco (that was similar to what nowadays is called "club") in my "good old times" :-) together with whiter shade of pale, some pink floyd, old (pre-disco) bee gees, etc ... where has all the good music gone ? :-(
This man tried to create his own genre of music. He dreamed of as sound that encompasses jazz, blues, rock, and salsa I think he succeeded. The man is ageless in his performance. No different now fron 50 years ago. If anything, he's better. Take it from aguitarist with 50 years experience.
React or watch my Carlos santana when he emerged in Woodstock fest in 1969 Sole Sacrifice...I was 20 then...the emergence of this great great man Guitarst band leader.. dozens of epic number s
This is some quality listening right here! I scrolled through a few pages of the comments and didn't see anybody post a comment about your question of the two handheld shaker things. These are called maracas.
Best concerts i’ve ever been to have been Santana.. seen him 5 times in last 7 years… this song played in House of Blues in Vegas is the best venue ever for his music. Not a bad seat in the house, always sold out, and the acoustics are incredible. He’s 75 now, still playing great, see him while he’s still touring!
This song is from 1970 Abraxas album so you are actually hearing him from his younger years and it's better now than back in 1970 . That is the original band playing with the original members in 2016 .They put out a new record with the original line up and went on tour .
Yeah you're right. Look at videos from early 70's to late 70's. If you listen to Samba pa ti then you will imagine being in raptous embrace with a lover, or flying through the air or the Cosmos. Rapturous or Divine is the word.🙏
Hello Bisscute, that guitar Santana played on this song "Samba Pa Ti" is called " Paul Reed Smith" made in state of Maryland USA. I have one myself. Glad to see you enjoy watching Carlos Santana performed. Enjoy!!!! 🙋♂️🤗👍👍👍🙏
I’d suggest just about anything from his “Abraxas” album from the late 60’s or early70’s, don’t remember which. Getting old and the memory isn’t the same, but I remember the music. It’s a great album.
I started listening to Santana over 30 years ago and I still listen to his songs. Their is a lot of variety in his catalogue and he has made music with a lot of different people.
Santana's prime was actually in 1999 when his album 'Supernatural' (which was recorded w/ guest singers and artists) sold 30 million copies worldwide (13 million copies in the US) and scored hit songs like - 'Smooth' (feat. Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20) ... 'Maria Maria' (feat. the Product G&B) ...'Put your lights on'(feat. Everlast). Carlos Santana debuted in the late 60's w/ his brand of latin fusion music... his record sales peaked in the 70's before 2 of his band members left to form Journey (guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Greg Rolie) ... Santana released a string of albums into the 80's, but by the 90's, he was without a label and left for broke... It wasn't until Santana recorded the 'Supernatural' album and made a massive comeback in 1999 as his popularity skyrocketed and at age 75, Santana is still the king of latin fusion music.
Santana is for trained ears, perhaps a song that you like more from his golden age is "Black Magic Woman". He also did many collaborations. I recommend you see when he played with Steve Winwood, it's a journey of melodies and cultures and the two have a connection as if they had been colleagues for years
Had the pleasure of bumping into Santana on the streets of San Francisco. He said one of the coolest things to me I'll ever hear..."Love and Light My Brother"
I have no way of picking a favorite lyrical song. I just can't do it. But this is my favorite instrumental period. It's over 50 yrs old now. I had finally learned about 2/3 of it in the early 90s. I was in Parker Music in Houston noodling around with it. A guy came up to me and said "sounds good" I didn't look up and said thanks but he loses me at this point. It just explodes. Then I looked up and it was him. Parker was on I-45 on the way to IAH. I knew the staff and that he would pop in for supplies sometimes. He has many cousins in Houston and charitable interests. He was in a hurry and took off. I sat stunned as the mgr laughed. I ran into Ernest Tubb and 2 band members there one day. I found them a Bass player who happened to be outside right then. They were playing Gilly's that night and needed one. It was a convenient spot for musicians coming into town. It is a Sam Ash store now.
Don't forget their hit song 'black magic woman' and Santana also collaborated with other singers.. Among my favorite songs is 'smooth' (ft. Rob Thomas from matchbox 20) 'Into the night' (ft. Chad kroeger from nickelback.. 'the game of love' (ft. Michelle branch)
I have lived in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area for most of my life and I can tell you that the name Carlos Santana evokes a feeling of love and respect for the Bay Area legend, who has wowed sold out crowds for 50 years. A winner of 10 Grammy Awards, his breakout performance at the 1969 WOODSTOCK Festival is still talked about today. Inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1998, Santana was not only a trend setter, combining Latin Jazz with rock and roll, but also a teacher and influential in the styles of future guitarists. My step father was a keyboard player in an amateur band that played local gigs. Their lead guitarist was one of Santana's students and an amazing player himself. It was not uncommon to have a member of the Santana family join them on stage. Another of Santana's students and former band member was Neil Schon, who along with keyboardist Greg Rolie, and bassist Ross Valory, splintered off from Santana in favor of a heavier rock sound. Their band eventually became known as JOURNEY. You may have heard of them. It makes me so happy to see young people exposed to and enjoying 'real', old school, music. It's the greatest service reaction channels, like yours, provide to a new audience.
You ask about the guitar. It’s hard to tell because of how dark the scene is, but it looks like a PRS, or Paul Reed Smith, guitar. Santana was one of the first, if not the first to use and endorse PRS guitars when they first hit the scene back in the mid 80s. He was a small luthier that came up with a killer design that grew rapidly in popularity. Story goes he hounded Sanatana to try his guitar, and once he did he was sold. It’s the one Sanatana has predominantly played since then, although like most he has a large collection of guitars to choose from depending on the song and the sound he’s going for.
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .

Hi from Monterrey Mexico
Samba pa ti It is a song in samba rhythm dedicated to God in the moment of most suffering and redemption of a person.
here are the lyrics
Samba pa ti ( Samba for you )
I am the shadow of a sorrow
I am the echo of a pain
sad loneliness
What's left for me today?
The memory that I loved you
And a strange desolation,
I am the shadow of a sorrow
I am the echo of a pain
I want to forget
I want to find forgiveness
Have mercy on my heart
I implore you, Oh my lord
I will erase the darkness
And I will hide my crying
The memory that I suffer
It will become a song
I will come back to life
I will sing again, you'll see
I will come back to life
I will sing again, you'll see

I love the way he lets his guitar do the singing in this one. Very expressive.
You MUST hear "Soul Sacrifice" (LONG VERSION, ITS' A MUST) live version from Woodstock 1969. They were practically unknown then, but surely things changed after that participation. A timeless classic!
When he played he was playing for the angels back in the days his attire had pictures of angles.

1st Santana album given to my brother and I was LOTUS. Mind blowing!!!❤
Santana made beautiful morning music, start your day with this and your day will be amazing.
Such a beautiful song... it touches my heart and brings smiles and tears at the same time.
Santana is a guitar master and a legion in the Latin community. You can't go wrong with any of his music.
You probably meant to write "legend".
More like legend in the US Mexican community L.O.L.
Go back to early 70's to mid 70's videos for Santana in his prime!
Songs, Oye Como Va, Black Magic Woman, Smooth, virtually every thing from the 1960s-1970s.
Such a Distinct sound from his Guitar. I recognize it within 2-3 notes..
He is the greatest Latino Rock God

EUROPA , is another rapturous performance from Carlos and the band ,check it out.
El está cantando 🎶 con la guitarra ❤
the sound of love making right here
You ask about the guitar.
