Some of the most beautiful ensemble group playing I have ever heard. Each cat is kicking ass but still tight and together, never losing the group thrust, motion, balance and energy. But most of all I can feel love and joy you all are putting out together. Superlative performance!
Everbody is soooo brilliant in this!! You think the bass is the best thing ever and then the keybords take over....and then the drums...and guitar...they are masters!!
Greg Howe, Hendrix/Holdsworth mix...maybe, I really like the lead guitar execution and the acting. Great bass and drum rhythm section, keyboards work well also. Miss Jimi and Allan, hope to hear more from Greg!
Love this group but I heard the original version “ Live” on WRVR in the 70’s. Tony Williams “ LifeTime” .... Tony, Allan Pasqua on keys, Tony Newton on bass, Allan Holdsworth on guitar. Phenomenal! Holdsworth & Pasqua had a group with Chad Wackerman on drums, Jimmy Haslip of Yellow Jackets on bass. Great music !
Listening to this, and then listening to the Lifetime version , it's like two different songs. But in a good way. each has it's own identity. This one flows and is more fluid. The Lifetime version is like a steady, groovin' and heavy as hell. Great artists on both versions.
Tetsuo Sakurai, Greg Howe, Dennis Chambers and wonderful keyboard player (name?) playing Allan Holdswirth tune! Amazong performance. AH in the heaven must have been proud - RIP Allan, I cannot believe you passed away already 3 years ago (4/15/2017). Ps) good to see a Yamaha SY99 synthesizer, from 1991(?) too.
This comment section summed up: "I am a boomer, I can't handle change, or people having musical freedom. This is blasphemy and no-one is as good as me or my idols. Why?" And then a bunch of bullshit reasons. For example, "the original is more musical." The fuck does that even mean?
@@jimmessina Notes are there, but yeah it's way too Rushed/Mindless for being Howe.. Not the easiest track to jam on tho, it's got couple of strange chromatic moments in the end.
@@kcorpora1 Ofc I do enjoy/value it, but I talk from experience, it's not the easiest track to improvise on, and It's possible Howe wasn't too much "in the zone" in that moment. The Piano solos are absolutely Incredible otoh..
Greg Howe -Guitar Tetsuo Sakurai - (bass) you may want to check Casiopea and Jimsaku (Fusion bands for which he used to play) Akira Onozuka -key Dennis chambers -drums
Casiopea is awesome. Had the luxury of seeing Dennis Chambers play with Frank Gambale a couple months ago in Chi. Greg Howe is awesome on Simon Phillips most recent Protocol album. Check it out.
this freakin rips. all these guys. damn
Greg, you monster speed picker, awesome you are,i erik de winkel am from holland, the netherlands, will always be your fan!!!❤❤❤😢

A fitting tribute to the master...

The best of this version is the keyboard solo!!
Agreed, some amazing harmonic/melodic minor and latin stuff in there!
The keyboard player here is severely overlooked .. (!)
He put his ankles in it !!!
It is refreshing to see that even masters like Dennis Chambers make mistakes at times (3:35). Wonderful performance!
Everbody is soooo brilliant in this!! You think the bass is the best thing ever and then the keybords take over....and then the drums...and guitar...they are masters!!
This guy is amazing!
Really blasting ...I dont think I have heard anybody do this tune at a Holdsworth level...
Greg Howe, Hendrix/Holdsworth mix...maybe, I really like the lead guitar execution and the acting. Great bass and drum rhythm section, keyboards work well also. Miss Jimi and Allan, hope to hear more from Greg!
Wow, I can skip the next cup of coffee. I love how DC takes Howe's high energy approach and focuses it to a smooth burn...

Dennis is a straight up legend
Tetsuo Sakurai Kicking ass as always.
Esse tecladista toca muito cara!
O maluco é brabo!

This is a good interpretation
..but I think Allan's version is more musical
greg´s studio interpretation is awesome, but this one wasnt even close...i think he didnt even played over the right chords hahaha

Ha! Chambers was off on his solo. Probably cuz it's in 3 and he forgot the accents are on 1.
First and last time you’ll hear him make that mistake!!
DENNIS CHAMBERS!
These guys go to a private bar and drink because this shit can set a building on fire 🔥
彼って結構るけぶしなんだよ、全く!
Exquisite everyone in their prime. A lotta tight nuts!!!!
I actually like this version a little bit more than Allan's
Dennis Chambers!
two sides to every story
How was in top form here
A good version. But Allan will forever be the man.
@Dr Diablory Exactly. Howe is playing licks and scales up and down. Nothing more.
Fontsman howe said this whole thing was extremely stressful for him. The extraction album, tour, etc... he’s chilled since
Zaitrippin may i ask where you saw? i’d like to read or hear more on that if possible haha
