Follow along as we finish preparing our Camper Van for Winter Van life in Europe!

General AT3 all terrain
About us:
We're Jodie and Joe and after years of searching for a new home, we realised that London can't offer us the lifestyle we dream of.
We've quit our jobs and sold our home, and are no longer tied to London, or even the UK.
So we bought our 2018 Peugeot Boxer and began our renovation to turn it into our perfect little home on wheels.
As we travel and explore each new place, we will be creating a list of 'must haves' to help us find the perfect place to call home.
Join us on our adventure as we build our campervan and navigate the highs and lows of vanlife in Europe and more!

To the lovely hearted people who made this video ❤
Thank you! That's very kind of you ❤️
I don’t usually comment on RUclips videos but the production quality on this video is awesome! #FrigginProfessional 🎬❤
Thank you, we love making them!
Underrated channel ❤
We think so too hehe 😜😂
Missed you guys, looking forward to watching you in warmer weather while I’m freezing in the North East of the UK, living vicariously 😂😂😂😂👍
Put your big coat on! ❄️
Good job guys... New wheels are a must for any van! 👍🏻
Thank you, they make for a much smoother ride too!
Awesome video again guys
Dear Jodie from the future, can you tell me next weeks Lotto numbers please?! Heehee. Very happy for more content guys, thanks and please drive safe and warm X
Yeah sure, 7, 56, 43, 86, 5, 17 🤣
(We don't play, no idea how many numbers there are supposed to be!!) Thank you for watching!! Xx
Really enjoyed watching you guys, take care and have fun in Europe ! 🍻🍻
Your van looks amazing inside and out, Can’t wait to see all of your adventures in Europe
Thanks it's been a lot of work!
Love you guys so funny and love the boots
Great video guys 😂👍
Thanks so much Neil! ❤️🥰
Great video guys ... you two have THE best on screen chemistry ever. You can tell you two were destined to be together. Jodie .... 9:40 .... You just gonna let that slide? lmao. Good luck & safe travels in Europe.
Aww thanks! (I'll definitely be getting him back, dw!)
Great window sillls, though maybe round the corners off to avoid scraping your heads on them.
We thought about that but it's actually been fine! They only stick out like 2cm and we've not hit our heads (yet!!) Thanks for commenting 🥰😊
Looking good Jodie, Van's not bad either😄 so in a previous video you were caught filming for OF's, this time a wet dress competition, is there some fantasy role play your trying to create? Love seeing how your preparing your little home on wheels. Safe journey
Haha thanks for watching!
Another great video of your progress, really excellent work. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks so much Gareth! 🥰🤗
And the best video editing transition (@ 3:25) goes to...
Haha bit wobbly but it was almost there 🤣♥️
Love watching you guys…..funny and entertaining….a breath of fresh air 👌👍
Thanks so much!
Awesome
Thanks Tomas ☺️☺️
I hope it’s as warm and cozy and it looks!
So do we!!
I’ve got no windows in my van but I have four cctv cameras on the outside of the van which record. I can view it live on my split screen monitor. It’s a Durite system 4 channel with night vision.
Ooooh that sounds cool, perhaps a future upgrade for us?!
Enjoyed your video, as always. Have awesome adventures in Europe. Looking forward to following them.
Thanks so much!
Looking forward to the European tour!
Thanks Paul! We can't wait to share it with you! 😍
Van looks good, you 2 work and edit awesome. Thanks
Thanks so much Flash x
The van looks amazing well done
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for the inspiration I bought my Van a few weeks ago, Im slowly-ing the build.
Excellent news!! We wish you all the luck - it's hard but definitely an adventure worth doing. You learn so many skills and lessons and get to explore when you're done. 😍
Great video looking forward to the next.
Thanks so much Eddie 😊❤️
So invested in this series - you two rock
Thanks Tony! So glad to have you on board 😍
Vans looking very good, well done both.
Thanks so much Matt! 🥰😊
Looks good with them tyres. I take it you have traction control or a way of locking the diff for them tyres to work
Preparing for winter - Go somewhere warm - correct !
Also, Jodie was spot on, several firms will do all you need electrically in one box e.g. Growatt.
Haha yes we have to survive the cold journey to the warmth, plus we don't know how far south we'll get yet!
That single box would have saved us a lot of time and money, but it's Joe's hobby and he's obsessed so I let him get in with it 🤣🤣
Hey, Joe, while watching campervan videos I came across one I thought would be good to point in your direction, as rewatching your build episodes I worry that you are guilty of making a common mistake in your door insulation... Try checking the youtube channel @roadandboard, more specifically the episode "Macht diesen Fehler nicht beim Vanausbau / Türen dämmen" (Don't make this error when insulating your van doors).
I realize you most likely don't understand German, but the video should speak for itself... The problem is that door handles are not water proof. In the video you can see how water poured on the outside of the door above the handle causes water to run down the inside of the door - which in your case is difficult due to the insulation you put in... It is a problem you also need to take into consideration if there are any holes at the lower sides for the trims....
Putting in the sound dampening mat is OK as such, water can still run down past it, but doing anything else inside the cavity should be avoided. A better solution would be to cover the cavity with a plastic sheet, using some kind of adhesive to keep it tight (commonly used in cars), and then place e.g. a 19mm Armaflex or similar layer on the outside of this before covering it up with e.g. a wood panel...
Thinking back I realize I actually know this problem from an old car I used to have. I had taken off the door panels in order to mount some new speakers, peeling away the plastic sheet providing the water barrier behind the panels, and when it rained the water came in through the doors, soaking the floor mats.. . 😞Of course in my case the problem was even more pronounced, as windows that can open up offer even more openings for the water to get inside the doors...
Keeping the current insulation in your doors makes it difficult to get rid of any water that comes in, and you risk both more rust - as well as mold problems...
Looking forward to your next videos!
That is very interesting thanks Erik. We will have to peel back the coverings and see what we can do when we get back to England.
A hand Winch is great. If you get stuck.
Excellent idea!
@@JodieandJoe very cheap option. They're some good 12 volt winches out there as well
A really good job guys!
Thanks Oleg! 🥰😊
Lovely job on the van.....well done both.
Thanks so much Vincent! 🥰
I was always wondering whether or not the Ducato factory alternator can handle TWO 360W DC/DC chargers. Is the alternator holding up without any issues? THX & keep up the good work - love your videos!
I was worried too and thought about upgrading but it handles 60A of DC to DC charging no problem
The condensation is from lack of ventilation, the real trick is allowing ventilation without letting in the cold.
Interesting we'll try letting in a little air and see what happens. Thanks for the tip
@@JodieandJoe I have an Australian Holden panel van , that I used to sleep in regularly. Condensation would gather on the roof, to the point of dripping off. By leaving one of the front windows down , just a little it solved the problem completely. However I did have to make a mesh piece to fit in it , to stop mossies. Going to suggest something based totally upon theory. You have a diesel heater. Put a Y or T section on the air intake , with a gate to vary between fresh and recirculated air, obviously the fresh running outside. This way you can heat the air coming in. You will also need to have an exhaust vent for carbon dioxide and moisture. Breathing creates moisture in the air. Your van should already be equipped with some. If not , they have to point downwards on the outside. This stops rain coming in , and also cold air. With your heater running , most have a thermostat / switch, the air pressure inside should be slightly greater than the air outside, meaning the exhaust vents , should not draw cold air in.
Thanks so much Bruce - we will have an experiment ☺️☺️
Pucker video guys. Can I ask about the TV/screen set up you have.
Thanks Murray, our TVs was from Amazon. Sharp 1T-C24DH2KG2FM 24” Smart LED TV, 12V/24V we're pretty happy with it although it's not full 1920x1080
@@JodieandJoe thanks guys. And the mechanism on which it is attached and retracted?
The flip down TV mount was Amazon again. Beetronic 13 to 27" TV Ceiling Mount Bracket Fold Up Down Away Flip Sloping Loft Roof 75x75 100x100 VESA
@@JodieandJoe appreciate the info
Great videos guys , following along and subbed . Can I ask I have same van and looking at same rogue alloys . My originals were 15inch , did you upgrade to 16inch rims, if so can you give me the tyre specs for these . Do they rub at all?
Thanks guys
Glad to have you subbed! We got the 16” 5x118 Rogue CC1 Alloy wheels with General AT3 all terrain tires.
They look like a tight fit but haven't rubbed at all. Very happy with them and Rogue Alloy!
Thanks for the quick reply as about to order these as I'm uilding my Peugeot boxer L3. With a victron setup. Do you have the tyre specs at all. Eg(175 x blah blah. You guys do make me chuckle 😃. Do you have any video on tank install ?
115/112 S.
Of course theres a video for it in the van build playlist and more!
did you have to recalibrate your Speedo as those wheels look a lot bigger
Rouge alloy said we shouldn't need to but I've noticed we're going slightly faster now when comparing our GPS speed to the speedometer
@@JodieandJoe thought so
Did you fit a diesel heater i cant remember? Might want to cut the ledge off the window bov near your heads on the bed, looks like it could be painful if you're doing a bit of moving around in the bed if you know what i mean!
Yes we did! It's featured in some of our other videos, but we didn't show it in this one. It's under the drivers seat!
We considered that, they are only tiny ledges and don't stick out much.... so far have had no issues haha 🤣
ruclips.net/video/SXID8Kau4PE/видео.html 👈Installing it! 👈
@@JodieandJoe thanks, I thought you did. I'll check it out as I'm considering trying to rig one up for my garage if I can find some kind of 12v power supply to run it. Enjoy your trip.
Doesnt matter what wheels or tyres you have, once the treads fill up with clay from a muddy field, theyre all useless! Thats why off road vehicles have recovery tracks and whinches.
Good to know!!!! Xx
Great video. I guess you guys are finding that the Thumbnails that generate most views are ones of Jodie looking "fetching"? It's kinda sad that it seems to work that way .. but you gotta do what you gotta do to get those views up!
Got to play the game 🤣🤣 thanks for watching x
Part of me thinks what a ridiculous time to be hitting the road. And part of me thinks what a perfect time to be hitting the road....
Very true!
