Great video! I really like the joes that look more military, so this he is right up my alley. I think he looks great. Is it just me or is that backpack peg super long? I'm pretty sure that bracelet and glasses are going in the accessories bag. I like his gun, but yeah the k-bar would've been cool. I can't wait to get my Leatherneck. I appreciate the warning about the watch. As always thank you for taking the time to do this review. Keep on cracking mate!
Good video sir l thought he should have been taller but he's a welcome addition to anyone's collection. It's good to see finally we are getting figures from the 86 line which is long overdue. I pre order leatherneck and dial tone
First off, first time watcher, and late starter with this collection. I have only gotten the Marines. So Gung Ho, Sgt Slaughter. And Barbecue (Not a Marine, but a Maurader now. And I was a Firefighter in the Marines so I am including him.) And I will wuthout a doubt be getting Leatherneck. I love your review. Made me want him even more. A couple things... a Marine "hat" is called a cover. And his rank insignia if it had the crossed rifles would signify him as Staff Sargeant, I don't know what his rank is supposed to be in the Joes. Lastly everyone is hating on his height. I like it. (So long as it is not the new size norm for all the figures.) As a kid, I grew up thinking Gung Ho and Slaughter were larger then life, and Leatherneck always struck me as being more average. As a Marine I know first hand that you don't have to tower over everyone to be scary. The cliche, It's not the size of the Dog in the fight, but size of the fight in the Dog, fits this new Leatherneck perfectly. Chesty Puller himself was reported to be 5'7" and he is pretty much a God amongst Marines. So I think Leatherneck being smaller then the other two and just as mean and green and filled with Spit and Vinegar is right on point for his character.
Well first off, thanks for checking in and for finding the channel. I appreciate the support and kind words. As far as Marines go, I couldn't agree more. One of the toughest groups of fighting men history has ever bore witness to and you're spot on, strength and courage comes in all shapes and sizes. Thanks also for the intel, as an Aussie I always enjoy hearing from blokes who have served and being educated on the terminology, equipment, uniforms and so on.
Great review, Leatherneck (Don Frye) is one of the guys that are great when he is paired up with his cartoon buddies for me, so I can't wait for Wetsuit, Sci-Fi and the others from that vintage line to come to Classified for sure. Cheers! 🍻
Shark is in full effect with the wave that was supposedly delayed by half of 2025 or this was the last wave that wasn’t delayed maybe. I look fwd to his arrival soon! Thanks you for the review Adz
All we missing at retail here is Dial Tone. We shall see what happens on that front soon. Good old Hasbro distro roullette strikes again lol Thanks for watching, man.
@ 🤣 it’s been such an uneven distro with them this yr. It took them twice or three times as long to in stock and ship Alpine from their own outlet than the other retailers in their expanded network- in some cases retailers had the same wave in stock two months ahead of pulse. Then there was the jinx doc and retro beach wave that made zero sense how those couldn’t be found at most outlets when they’d moved outside of Asia either. Amazon was a mess with their dates of delivery with that wave also. I think pulse just started shipping out the alpines and IGs finally lol I haven’t seen dial up anywhere in stock since the four or five of him that popped up on a foreign market online portal right at the beginning of Dec and I passed on the impatient tax then but I didn’t think he’d be high and dry everywhere else too 😂 These waves have been so all over the place this yr with distro balancing seriously. The entire wave with storm shadow v2 was heavily discounted by Walmart and even Amazon in the weeks up to Christmas, and people took full advantage. So by the time pulse caught up most of the collectors essentially had their pre orders filled by big box retailers at discounted holiday pricing. Leaving pulse with bundles of cancelled preorder inventory to deal with. Of course scalpers gonna load up regardless to max out some of those figs to jack up prices on them once amazon and Walmart charge more for the same figs from those third party sellers What a mess. I bought interstellar 10th anniversary limited edition 4K for around 55 when it came up on preorder it sells now for about 135+ on eBay lol because it sold out at retail already
This figure looks good. He does seem to be a little bit on the shorter side. I always envisioned him as a big tough Marine so I'm surprised he's not quite as big as gung ho.
I never thought of Leatherneck as being really big. Not compared to Gung Ho and Slaughter, atleast. I like the short and stalky aspect, gives him more grit. Plus Marines come in all sizes. We aren't all Giants. In fact, it's reported that Chesty Puller was only 5'7".
It's very disappointing that they made him shorter than Gung-Ho and Sgt Slaughter. His 50th Anniversary figure is taller than Gung-Ho in the same series not to mention in the comics as well plus he was just about even height wise with Slaughter in the cartoons. I wanted to get him but not so much now after seeing this review thanks for making it.
His lack of height is noticeable and it makes me wonder if it is Hasbro cheapening out (likely). So I totally get it being a sticking point for a lot of fans not wanting it. Totally fair. Glad you found the review helpful.
Finally catching up. This last few months have been hectic. Great review. Leatherneck was one of my favourite figures as a kid, and due to not finding a Sarge, was my only moustache wearing marine. Yo Joe 😎 cheers for the shout out 🎉
Hey mate, my absolute pleasure. Wouldn't have been able to get the jarhead without your assistance. Keep on, keeping on and all the best for '25, brother.
Is this entire wave the short folks wave? 😂 we saw that be a thing with SAW but I don’t remember if Zan was shorter than his siblings but I thought even Zandar comes up shorter than his preceded siblings also. If so I’m guessing dial up will be the continued trend of shorter bucks in this wave. Looks like we could be going in the black series direction which all of those are noticeably small by contrast to classified 20-23 waves for sure.
It's interesting to note that, mate. I'll do a formation of the three newbies and check when I get up. I'm putting it down to Hasbro cost cutting. And if that's the case, you may be on to something with them going in the Black Series direction and that is really disheartening.
Size does not equal ability to brawl. Most of my best brawlers in the corps have been shorter. Wirey with an attitude to prove themselves. I honestly think it fits his character more so.
Great review. He looks great but wish he was a tad bit taller. I don’t think he needs to be the size of Gung ho or Sarge. But he seems a bit short when standing next to regular sized Joes. Maybe once I get him in hand, that may not be the case.
Thanks, David. The height discrepancy seems to be a sticking point for a lot of fans and I totally get it. As I demonstrated in the video, it's not too big a difference to ruin the experience of the figure imho.
Yessir it's a classic vintage piece. Yeah the Classified take is... okay. Like I said in the video, easy enough fix via a third party. I do like the figure.
The face sculpt is great, 5 o'clock shadow really adds a lot of dimension. Other than that, I'll buy him just because, but the fig doesn't do much for me... I think of him as sort of a filler character 🤷♂️. Nice review.
Totally get that angle you're coming from, mate. I was going to hold out on him as I mentioned in the video, but I got pulled back in like Michael Corleone on a bad day.
His new rifle looks okay. The stock is different because it's more modern adjustable type stock. At least they are giving us some new tooling. If you get a chance pick up the slaughter triple t cup transformers crossover. The o-ring version of leatherneck in that set is much better than the Vintage o ring in my opinion. Skin tone is better and the sculpt just looks better. I managed to get a good deal I think I paid $50 for the set. Normally it's close to 100.
Yeah it's okay and they have attempted to modernise it. It's just a little short in length imho. I still need to get the Thunder Machine before I consider the TTT. They aren't cheap here, if I see a price that warrants purchase I'll pull the trigger.
@@SharkEyesToyView Yeah the transformers crossover sets in my opinion are neat but overpriced. I got mine at GameStop using my monthly reward. Then I had redemption points and a gift card so that's how I managed to knock $50 off. Apparently here in the US the thunder machine was showing up at Ross before Christmas. For 25.00! Good luck finding it though. I managed to get one online for 52. Haven't had a chance to open it yet.
Great video! I really like the joes that look more military, so this he is right up my alley. I think he looks great. Is it just me or is that backpack peg super long? Another great review Bro 😎
Amazing review! Glad I found your channel, new subscriber, very detailed and thorough review 👍🏻
Thanks for the high praise and for joining me on this journey. Much appreciated.

Thank you, mate. A little bit more height wouldn't have gone astray, but at least we finally got him.
First off, first time watcher, and late starter with this collection. I have only gotten the Marines. So Gung Ho, Sgt Slaughter. And Barbecue (Not a Marine, but a Maurader now. Leatherneck was a big dude in the cartoon. He wasn't average size !

Cheers, Frank. And absolutely he does. He also looks great alongside Stalker and Gung Ho.
We definitely need Wet-Suit now. Great review as always
Damn right we do, mate. Thanks for the kind words and support, Shane-o. All the best for the New Year.
@ just gonna go wide open and see where that gets me
Great review. I have him already
Thanks, Robert. He's pretty cool.

Awesome video. I'm thinking about getting a few G.I joe's for my collection 😆
Cheers matey. DO IT! The line has some absolute beauties to latch onto.
Strength level 2?? Hell no lol 😆
Yeah the Hasbro employee in charge of that department screwed that up.
They should have used a bigger body ! Leatherneck was a big dude, Sgt Slaughter size !
It wouldn't have hurt.
This figure looks good. He does seem to be a little bit on the shorter side. I always envisioned him as a big tough Marine so I'm surprised he's not quite as big as gung ho.
Well I guess he could have been a little bit taller, but it's not too jarring as he's somewhat stocky and his arms are quite defined.
Ya your right brother this one should of been close to a Sarg.or roda pig
They need to rescale gung ho and roadblock to fit the line better. They’re too oversized.
@shanonwelch9995 That is in a nutshell how I view him, mate.
His rank is real, Staff Sergeant in Army & Marines
I may paint the glasses silver and give them to Buzzer, they would look better than his swim goggles
No harm in giving it a bash.
His collar rank is different than his shoulder patch. 😂
There ya go. Hasbro gonna Hasbro.

His forearms are thick,I am just curious as to how his forearms compare to that of retro Duke??
I don't have Retro Duke so I'm afraid I can't help you.
Aces video!👍 Sounds great!🙌😁
Oh good good. I didn't alter anything on the audio front though.
Im digging this one ,he dont look to bad brother,i got him pre order at a few places lol who ever gets them first lol thanks for the vid brother
Gotta play the game that way hahaha. I like to call it Hasbro distro roullette lol. Thx for watching and the kind words, mate.

Another great review mate
I need this line to slow down a little, running out of shelf space 🫠
Time for a bigger house, mate.
Dennis Farina in action figure form! Thanks for the great review.
@@gmwforce1972 Wait... hold up. Dennis Farina reference out of nowhere haha
Cool looking figure Happy New Year
HNY Shawn. All the best for '25.
Great video! I thought of passing him up but I may have to get him after all!
Thanks mate. He's a rock solid addition to the line.
Must be nice. They told me im getting mine in another year.
I'd say you'll be seeing him well before then.

Give me my mission brazil repaint.
F**kin A, brother! And Wet Suit also.
That's not a knife.
😂 There's always one in every comments section.
Looks great
He's a solid figure.
Hell yeah I'm adding him to my collection...he looks great. I agree with you I always thought he was a brawler and a tall strong character in gi joe
Do it, he's a solid addition to the line. As for his lack of height, makes me wonder if it was cost cutting exercise.
