Right? We'll possible get a retro that I suspect will be a bit like Stalker (slightly different uniform colours?) but this guy is pretty vintage inspired AF
I always like Leatherneck because he was a traditional soldier…. I never bought him though bc I was always buying non traditional soldiers! 🤣🤣. I like what I see so far and look forward to getting him! Great review! Cheers!
This guy is💯 legit. Another home run for the vintage style joes. Not too many left to get and I’ve skipped quite a few. I’m just snagging these mainline characters that look correct
Fantastic review, thanks! Freaking awesome figure; there's so much 80s Awesomeness packed into that design that it's like therapy for me, lol. And that 'stache.....Love the stache!! That looks like the same pistol that came with Retro Gung-Ho and Hawk, but they added a sighting scope to it; verrrrry nice! Can't wait for this man! This will make for great custom fodder too! Lastly, I wanted to ask, what type of torso design is under the vest? Is it the same combat shirt design as Stalker, Grunt etc? Thans again!
I can sense your excitement for this guy through this comment man - you're clearly buzzing! Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment William. Really great to have you around these parts!
Is it just me, or is the upper handle on his M16/M203 combo a bit too small compared to the M16s of previously released figures such as the Crimson Guard and of Grunt?
As a 80s kid I wanted leather neck and the only figures on shelves were lifeline and sci fi. A real shame the brand diverted away from the military theme.
I differ on that - I like the wild, barmy stuff too. Sometimes its a bridge too far but most of the time I lean both into the military theme or the sci fi themes equally. That's the beauty of the IP really - got a little something for everyone!
@MoDXtraGC That'll be a long time from now! But I've got Mutt and Junkyard in the post, so I'll let you know what I think of him. Can't wait for Law and Order. That was my first ARAH figure back in 1987. Here in NewZealand we didn't get G.I.Joe until 1987. So the '86 and '87 waves are my formative characters. My brothers and I had nearly every figure. Sci-Fi is my most anticipated.
@@drewlovelyhell4892 I love Mutt & Junkyard - one of my favourites from the year. Law & Order are hotly anticipated with me too. Did you catch a glimpse at the production leaks that were knocking around of Law & Order?
@@MoDXtraGC I don't recall.. but the renders give me a solid idea of how he'll look. I expect we'll get diorama photos pretty soon anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing how Order looks with his headgear on! 😸
Chris, you bastard! I’m still waiting on my Alpine from Pulse. And my preorder for Leatherneck say October! WTF? Anyway, great review. I already had him preordered, but now I can’t wait to get him in hand. Loving the return of the time travel effect!
I think he looks great..his hair sculpt doesn't bother me since as you said you can cover it up with the hat . It's crazy how early you guys are able to get them over there thanks to that in demand store you mentioned . Great job on this unboxing and review video as always Chris 👍
Yep - In Demand Toys do sterling work. The curse of "Pulse Exclusive" has resulted in this wonderful blessing as they (and others - shout out to Kapow Toys and Props & Replicas too) import their stock. :) Hope you're well Wil - getting all set for the holidays?
Ok. Apologies for the misnomer. I mean no offence. Consider the use of “soldier” in the vid a small “s” in the sense of “toy soldier” or “soldier boy” for the sake of simplicity and nothing more.
I actually made a video on the subject a few weeks back (cause I get asked this all the time) which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/Dri_lpvLfSU/видео.html BUT - the TL:DR is this - they're imported by independent retailers here in the UK from East Asia, and often arrive early. I make a pre-order with them, and I get it when I get it, I'm just fortunate that it's often earlier than elsewhere.
Yeah I think I'm just going to wait for the inevitable retro. Not a stark "Classified" enough version for my liking. Quality review mate, I particularly enjoyed your take on the skill attributes hahaha
Been into classified since the beginning but after the few more characters I want I’m out ….quality is going way down (especially in head sculpts and overall figure construction also to much reuse (especially with the accessories) to many exclusives and they do on purpose to cause a feeding frenzy ) I’m a 82-87 guy and we are closing in most have been released there’s probably about 10 more characters I want

I didn't really consider that - but can totally see that POV on him. I think they're leaning more heavily into the OG vintage figure look with the choice?
Another excellent candidate for a dirty wash on the vest. The kneepads are an eyesore for me, but the rest is good stuff. Leatherneck will look fine hanging out next to Gung Ho on the shelf. Semper Fi.
Hey there LiquidEntity - how's it going man? Thanks for watching. Surprised you're not a fan of the knee pads, they seem pretty innocuous to me - but we've all got our thing LOL
@@MoDXtraGC I just go by Liquid. Kneepads arent a real dealbreaker but 1) I would have preferred loose pants here 2) this particular kneepad design bugs me and 3) I cant help but instantly notice Airborne reuse everywhere. Thanks for the early review.
Are you in 🇦🇺, or 🇬🇧 ? It seems like you guys get Classified figures way before everyone else does? Ya lucky digeriedoos. Lol. Leatherneck was my favorite Joe of all time. I can't wait to get mine in October of 2025. Haha

No, it's not you, it is smaller in size by comparison to previous M16 rifles we've had in the line.
