The important part is knowing which group is which. There are some groups that even cry for their perceived victimization from people who just want to live in the same country as them. Namor's people are actually had blue skinned in the original comics. It's only one things about Namor that they didn't change.
They changed his ethnicity for 2 reasons:
1. Only another historically oppressed ethnic group could fight the Wakandans without people saying it's just people invading Africa, which is racist.
2. His actual origin story is too similar to Aquaman's, and even though the Submariner's comic came out first, since Aquaman is more well-known and his movie came out first, people will assume that the writers were just copying Aquaman.
