I love how matpat isn’t afraid to touch on a sensitive subject. He does such a great job when covering this type of content. And he doesn’t really say anything that’s an opinion he just lists out facts and connections but leaves it up to us as the Viewers to do our own research and agree or disagree

honestly, I think that zootopia is hinting at things that it needs to. It makes references to actual crimes that can end up with someone hurt. Instead of "Who stole my peanut butter?" it's "The mafia's after me." The fact that Mr Bigg is a mafia boss, things can get intense. Selling different things, punishments for not returning money in time, all sorts of that. It really prepares them for he real world, and I like that.
I love how a video about a conspiracy in zootopia has more views than the population of Romania.

A few things I want to point out (even if this video is five years old at the time I write this.
1. Judy never mistook the bulbs the weasel stole as onions. Everyone else did. She correctly guessed they were flower bulbs, giving their scientific name when she did.
2. The Night Howlers weren't harmless. Judy's uncle accidentally ate one and went crazy. It was at that moment that Judy realized what was happening. The lab process was probably to make the effects strong enough to work immediately on skin/ fur contact.
Aside from those two things, great video.
(I had to watch this movie 5 times for an English project, so I'm fairly sure I remember it well enough)

So, a few minor details. First, night howlers are far from harmless. Even in their natural state they caused one of Judy's relatives to go berserk. Her father didn't even what some kids going near them. And likening the effects of the two drugs seems like a stretch to me. Night howler serum causes victims to go savage and attack anyone around them. I don't see anyone using that recreationally. And the most minor detail of all, I don't think mayor Lionheart returned to power. I'm pretty sure he was still in prison at the end.

I am watching this 7 years later and omg the old film theory intro is so nostalgic. Also MatPat’s voice is so different like back then his voice was quieter and less enthusiastic then what it is now so obviously he was a bit shy back then. Disney goes dark, but they don't go that dark.
One huge difference was that the Night Howlers didn't cause a temporary high. It needed a cure to return an animal to its original state.
That was made for a happy ending. This movie was watched by a lot of kids, and it's a DISNEY MOVIE.
Thunderlord's Decree but just imagine if you could make a crack ball that made you high indefinitely. The drug problem would be far worse with everyone wanting that.
+Thunderlord's Decree that's not how medicine/drug work, unless it's an extended release tablet taken orally, the liver and the kidneys would remove the drug from the body, especially since parenteral absorption from the skin isn't very good afaik. The drug would wear off after a few days.
Nightraven26 I think we can safely assume that the drug goes after the natural biology of animals through some unknown way that can't be compared to how drugs affect humans. That or they just ignored science in favor of making the plot more enjoyable.
It seems that it could have been only a few days, we don't know how long the predators were missing, except for the otter. Mr. Otterton was missing for over a week, but we don't know if the drug was injected in the 1st day he was missing. He could have had the drug injected into him 3 days before they found him. The other predators could have gone missing after him. That's an assumption we can make, or not make. That's just what we decide.

She also didn't know that they can drive someone savage, otherwise she would have made more of a fuss. But yeah, Matt made a few mistakes, as usual. For example, I was under the impression that Mayor Lionheart wasn't out of jail in the interview we saw at the end. We certainly received no evidence that he'd been re-elected.
