The only data the phone should interact with is direct functions, like the lights and fitting, and sensors as raw for use any compatible fitness app. Not shady spy stuff for corporations, generally that sort of thing lowers value( like the 'cheap' smart TVs ).
They could do some interesting things with future versions such as integrating pressure sensors into the footbed to aid in improving running form and gait. Also they should make the charger a weight scale and switch to a right angle cord or integrate it underneath so it can fit up to a wall. They should also use a pull loop as a switch for fully tightening and loosening them for putting them on and off.

As a nursing student, I've already had the pleasure of working with patients who have various conditions which would make tying their shoes difficult if not impossible, such as parkinsons or neuropathy. Self lacing shoes such as these in an easy slip on type form factor would be absolutely ideal for people like these. I would love one day see this technology implemented in healthcare setting for these types of patients as an easy way to increase the quality of their lives. For this particular population group, the value of this technology can absolutely be a game changer. The color lights aspect would be awesome for those who take care of easily confused patients. Sadly, those with dementia can sometimes easily become lost, and the light up function of these shoes can help to increase the visibility of their loved ones especially at night. for the right population group, even at 400 dollars, I would have to argue that the added safety and convenience offered would be absolutely worth it, especially if it can be subsidized with insurance due to the quality of life and safety aspect.

wow this is soooo much easier than regular shoe laces! living in the future is AWESOME! I can't wait to be able to pair my shirts to my phone as well! 6:48, no no, you're right, it makes them worthless.
Fair warning to anyone interested in buying these. I have owned mine just over a year of a similar shoe the BB Adapt 2.0 and one shoe does nothing but flash when trying to charge. So my left shoe is fully loose and wont charge or tighten. My right shoe worked for a month then one day when 100% tight and will not loosen. Contacting Nike resulted in basic steps trying to use the buttons to reset them which did not work. After all of that and about a year of owning them I was given the option to return them for my money back as they do not repair or replace these or the components inside. They only will offer money back if you bought them from Nike and have your receipt. So those who bought from resellers like flightclud are SOL! I can no longer recommend them even though they felt great all day and my shoe looked similar to the Back to the Future II shoes!
I want the bottom of the shoe to have a replaceable grip. Shoes last about a year if you wear them often. If a shoe breaks, it is usually just the bottom that goes. If that could come off, even with screws, that would make the price a bit more worth it for the average consumer. Maybe making them last two or three years before something else fails.
That’s only true if you buy good quality, traditionally made, leather shoes or boots. Most modern shoes, even the expensive ones, are crap, glued together with low quality materials in a way that makes them unrepairable.
@@Chipsaru Nah a lot of athletic shoes fall apart quickly on anyone that's rough on shoes (me here). Great video! Just a side note; the shown white shoe in the weight comparison is not really made of recycled material. It is just a PR claim. Some months ago a couple of journalists unveiled that these dark spots, or "grind" as Nike calls them, are made of unsold, *completely new*, shredded Nike shoes :(
I actually own a pair of these. The app experience is probably an 8 out of 10, but you end up hardly using the app after initial setup. I can control them from my watch, or use voice controls to lace/unlace them. I never use the lights. They do last 2 weeks for me and I just leave the charging pad in my office to charge when absolutely necessary. I did the ultimate test and wore them on a week's vacation to Disneyworld. My feet kinda hurt the first day, but after that I was very comfortable and never felt the need to use different shoes. I did bring back-up walking shoes just in case the experiment went awry. All in all they are excellent shoes for me and I feel taller in them. Probably because I am taller in them.😂 Great video as always from the ShortCircuit gang!
Maybe a dumb question; if the battery dies while wearing them, do they remain tightened or do they loosen? Realize you may not have experienced this though, but just curious if you’d randomly have loose shoes or have to pry them off your feet if that happened
@@lorenzocadei4300 @TheGhostsSoul I'd need to look it up to be sure, but I believe there is a reserve amount of battery for unlacing after the battery has died. Also, they are not impossible to remove when laced unless they were super tight.
Still got my Nike Adapt BB 2.0 MAG's (most recent edition of the Back to the Future design) from 2020, and yes I do wear them! Not often worn mind you, but on occasion very fun 👟
"Alexa, untie my shoes" would be quite a fun party trick (and wouldn't really require any more tech than these shoes already have). Still not actually useful, but at least a small step to feeling like Ironman in your everyday life.

As a Czech, I actually do not understand this american prudence. In summer many girls here just walk or use subway in flip-flops and shorts, and nobody complains about it. Everybody just finds it perfectly normal.
@@litaveccz it's not prudence. Its a joke. Its a common meme that people with a foot fetish will always comment on videos and say "feet" or are vocal about wanting to see women's feet. That's why she made the joke in the beginning of the video about how if you were expecting feet pics, this isn't the video for that. So when they did show her feet they censored it as a continuation of the joke.
Not only is censored porn a thing, but it also caters for the same audience that are traditionally into foot stuff & submission. They didn't really make a difference blurring her socks.
As someone who wears slip-on shoes, I think this would be good for me. EDIT: I heard the price, and it's not for me. So far, I haven't spent over $100 for a pair of shoes, and I'd like to keep it that way.
To clarify: these were designed for people with manual dexterity issues, who are physically unable to tie them. Last i knew, only an extremely limited run were made (might be out of date on that info though). The first pair was given to Michael J Fox as part of a back to the future thing.
Imagine being some random guy named Earl, you're just walking down the street living your best life and all of a sudden your shoes tighten up right as you're crossing the street.
In terms of them being more accessible than other shoes is they aren’t. I can’t lace my shoes so I just have slip on shoes I use. The size and weight is a problem for accessibility. Also the fact they don’t have an emergency unlace button is a nightmare scenario. What if you get into a car accident and your phone is destroyed. Hopefully they can get loose enough or they’re being cut off.
I was wondering if there was a manual operation for the straps just in case the battery dies for whatever reason and I want to lace up anyway, but that’s a good point also
Just so people who aren’t into shoes know, the reason the Air Mags (back to the future shoes) are so expensive, is because they are a very limited pair that were only sold at auction. The auction proceeds all went to Michael J. Fox’s foundation. Can’t remember exactly how many pairs there are, but they’re limited which causes the value to go up obviously. So most of them don’t go up for sale because they were bought by collectors helping support a good cause and getting a very rare shoe. Whenever they do come up for sale, it’s normally from a reseller who buys and sells tons of shoes, or through someone like flightclub where they are a reseller who actually run a real business. And, it’s helps that because they are so popular they can afford to spend $20k on a shoe and sit on it for years at a time if need be. They originally released in 2011 and then again in 2016. 2011 don’t remember how many pairs were sold, but in 2016 only 89 pairs were made. That’s why the price is so absurd.
The only time I'm buying a pair of shoes with electronics in them are when someone makes a proper pair of VR walk-in-place shoes. even then, a bidirectional treadmill would be superior as it could deal with movement scenarios such as crawling or sliding, where a pair of shoes could only deal with walking, just on a smaller scale than a Kat Walk C.
This has all the features inside to be able to upload to Nike where you are with the gps on your phone, and all your steps information with the cpu, storage, and gyroscope within the shoes
Guys who are into feet are the same type of guys who get turned on by censored porn. So they didn't really make a difference blurring it, they just produced a different genre of porn
I have been eyeing a pair of platformed shoes where the platform is clear and can be accessed and filled with items. This video has made me want to put a thick strip of electroluminescent tape around the inside because there's room inside the platforms for quite a battery.
It is worth noting that the reason the Air MAGs like the Back to the Future ones get released as an auction model with the proceeds supporting the Michael J. Fox Foundation which is a non-profit organization for people with Parkinson's. But of course, the resellers need to re-coupe some of that cost because they don't actually care about the charity aspect of the shoes.

Probably because I am taller in them.😂
Great video as always from the ShortCircuit gang!
Maybe a dumb question; if the battery dies while wearing them, do they remain tightened or do they loosen? Realize you may not have experienced this though, but just curious if you’d randomly have loose shoes or have to pry them off your feet if that happened
@@Ghostsoulless very good question. I was wondering the same thing
Sarah is a natural! Such a lovely, positive, playful vibe.
The feet censoring is so hilarious. It was even funnier in the emergency bag video with Linus.
If they had an home assistant integration i might had considered them, changing the lacing with routines would have been sick
"Alexa, untie my shoes" would be quite a fun party trick (and wouldn't really require any more tech than these shoes already have). Still not actually useful, but at least a small step to feeling like Ironman in your everyday life.
@@SchwachsinnProduzent I'm talking about actual routines. Like having the shoes to tie in the "leaving home" routine and untieing them on the "i'm home" one
there's still time, but you're very right. that's great. come home, loosen them. etc.
They do have voice assistant integration. As weird as it is, ‘Hey Siri, untie my shoes’ works.
The blurred out socks 🤣
Sarah is great. Seems like such a sweetheart and comes across very genuine and funny.
Great videos guys.
I love her humor and spontaneous laughs, great addition to the LMG team!
I could care less about the sneakers, but Sarah is just such a charming and bubbly personality that I think I would enjoy a mouse review with her, just because I know the LTT team would find some weird and fantastical stuff and she's guaranteed to have the best reactions 😂
“Aw, man. I forgot to charge my shoes.”
🤨
Also imagine going through airport security wearing shoes with a bunch of electronics inside.
I would love these shoes, but needing to use my phone to activate the auto lace mechanism is a deal breaker for me. The could have done something smart like tapping your heals together would activate the lace mechanism, but what do i know :)
Tap your heels together 3 times to go home. 😁
Yeah, probably gonna stop working in a couple of years, making them useless. As self lacing shoes, at least.
@@DPedroBoh what shoes you were daily last "a couple of years" anyway? 😅
no, this feature just is from another universe, Wizard of Oz. But this act could bring a Maps to your home.
@@AngryApple Adidas Sambas for me, usually 2 years, 3 if I'm not abusing them.
Sarah is such a joy to watch. She might be a great graphic designer but she has what it takes to be a great hosts.
Lmao I love how they censored her feet even though she was wearing socks
As a Czech, I actually do not understand this american prudence. In summer many girls here just walk or use subway in flip-flops and shorts, and nobody complains about it. Everybody just finds it perfectly normal.
@@litaveccz it's not prudence. Its a joke. Its a common meme that people with a foot fetish will always comment on videos and say "feet" or are vocal about wanting to see women's feet. That's why she made the joke in the beginning of the video about how if you were expecting feet pics, this isn't the video for that. So when they did show her feet they censored it as a continuation of the joke.
sadly yes:(
Oh, sorry I just didnt get the joke after workday, had a shortcircuit in my head.
Not only is censored porn a thing, but it also caters for the same audience that are traditionally into foot stuff & submission. They didn't really make a difference blurring her socks.
This girl's eyes are mesmerizing, Sarah's videos are always so fun.
Sorry I missed the school bus. Had to charge my shoes.
As someone who wears slip-on shoes, I think this would be good for me.
EDIT: I heard the price, and it's not for me. So far, I haven't spent over $100 for a pair of shoes, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Just wear them 4x as long and it is fine 🙃
You want a pair of Nike FlyEase. Also I found that AirMax 2090s work well as slip on shoes thanks to elastic materials
Sarah: “I’m not saying I’m a sneaker head but… I’m a sneaker head.” You don’t gotta hide that drip.
To clarify: these were designed for people with manual dexterity issues, who are physically unable to tie them. Last i knew, only an extremely limited run were made (might be out of date on that info though). The first pair was given to Michael J Fox as part of a back to the future thing.
never watched a video she hosted but love her charisma! love all the lmg video hosts :D
4:39 I love how you can see a tad bit of stomach.
7:13 Love the jumping jacks.
6:02 why y'all play me like that with the censor? 🥺😔
lmaooo I love watching sara unbox things, she has such a good personality for it
Imagine forgetting to charge your shoes, what a time to be alive
Imagine being some random guy named Earl, you're just walking down the street living your best life and all of a sudden your shoes tighten up right as you're crossing the street.
We're at a point in society where feet need to be blurred out, i find that quite sad
I'm SO happy that Sarah actually consults the manual. I feel so represented =õ)
I was wondering if there was a manual operation for the straps just in case the battery dies for whatever reason and I want to lace up anyway, but that’s a good point also
OK, the beginning part was hilarious. But seriously, I didn’t take Sarah for a sneaker person. These do look cool, though.
Will the uncensored be available on flow plane?
Lol 😆
Maybe there OF!
Yassss, the Butt is in the house!!
You should have phrased that differently💀
Sarah is fast becoming one of my favourite LTT personalities. 😂
The self lacing reminds me of spray on shoes from cloudy with a chance of meatballs. "How are you gonna get em off nerd!"
This has all the features inside to be able to upload to Nike where you are with the gps on your phone, and all your steps information with the cpu, storage, and gyroscope within the shoes
Those shoes aren't the only thicc thing on the video👀
Ohhh noo, no feetpics... I will stay anyway
Damn, just when I thought LMG might fulfill my foot fetish >:(
Look at the bright side: at least they're now on the same level of taboo as boobs, buttholes, and genitals.
Guys who are into feet are the same type of guys who get turned on by censored porn. So they didn't really make a difference blurring it, they just produced a different genre of porn
@@subvert221 To these guys, filling in the blanks with their imagination turns them on.
I have been eyeing a pair of platformed shoes where the platform is clear and can be accessed and filled with items. This video has made me want to put a thick strip of electroluminescent tape around the inside because there's room inside the platforms for quite a battery.
Now that I'm thinking about it... I could make electrically heated shoes...
