What if we get married in the USA before our fiance visa gets approved?

Oh! That’s a very important question. If you get married then you are no longer eligible for a fiancé visa and that case will be cancelled or denied. If it’s granted anyway you can’t use it to move forward with your immigration process. You would have to start again and determine your ability to file a spouse case after you get married.

You are no longer eligible for this, but you can still change your status. I did this with my spouse. We get married here in the United States while he was with a visa. We changed the status for him without applying for a marriage/fiancé visa and I think for us was a straightforward process. We did this process without an attorney
