For quality bike locks :
I bought the ‘Litelok One Moto’ made of a Boaflexicore strap & hardened steel alloy lock body. Weighing only 1.46kg! It’s both light, flexible & easily stowed away in your luggage as opposed to a heavy chain lock.

Good informative video, especially like the night time clip.
Thanks Ali, another great bit of tech the adaptive headlight which switches on after a lean angle of 7°
Separate LED elements in the main headlight provide the best illumination of the inside of the curve, pretty neat!
Got mine about 3 weeks ago and the 1000km check is up now. It's my first bike in general so I can't compare it much to other bikes except the couple ones I had for a short testride. But I love it, it's really great for a beginner. It's kinda a jack of all trades, nothing stands out exceptionally, but everything gets done more then well enough.
On my first day, I drove almost 300 km in one go, until the tank was empty and it was just pure fun and joy.
If you're looking for a good allrounder, you should definetly check this one out
Thats awesome Bam thanks for that update, you must have got well accustomed to the bike in that 1st ride! Yes I'd agree the bikes not heavy to move around, easy to flat foot & get through traffic. Then its sporty with loads of torque to have fun on thd twisties for sure. I'd agree it would make for a 1st bike. I'd love for you to update here how you get on riding the bike, any niggles or joys? Thanks, Daz.
Hey mate.
How's the bike been?
I'm about to do my das and just checking insurance costs and this is coming up cheaper than a cb650r for me 😂 😂
@andigorani after about 4000 km now I can tell, I love that bike and it was a great decision for me. Just 2 weeks ago my buddy and me drove some twisties through the Alps, total of 550 km for me, and I had no issues at all, considering I'm still a beginner. Engine has enough torque allowing you to go up quite the steep hills and overtaking campers was no big deal at all, too. It's not the lightest bike out there but far from the heaviest, so it feels pretty nimble.
There are just 2 things which aren't the best, the Quickshifter is pretty rough in the lower gears, going from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 works fine at certain revs, if you don't hit them it's quite a bump. The GS1250 of my buddy is even worse though.
This can be fixed with a custom mapping though, which I'm planning to do soon.
The other thing, this bike really doesn't like low revs at all. Like, below 1800 to 2000 it feels like the engine is choking and about to stall. Dunno of other bikes have similar issues, but I remember the old Honda I had in driving school wasn't quite as bitchy in that regard. It's no big deal, just pull and drag the clutch a bit. It's just something you have to be aware of
@@bam3xs that must have been sweet riding the Alps on that bike, as you discovered its got plenty of poke to dispatch slower moving traffic with a blip of the throttle. I guess you didn't see much of the scenery 😁. Yes my GS has a clunky auto gear shifter, I never use 1-2 but 2-6th is ok, I don't tend to go down the gears either as that's an even bigger clunk. Like you say it helps if you are in the right rev window, your pending re-mapping will improve it. I really appreciate you updating your thoughts riding the bike here & the pros & cons Bam 👍 It'll help the biker community.
Never ridden the 900R but did have had the F900xr on loan when my bike was getting some work done. I really liked it although I was too tall for the screen and no matter how I had it, it seemed to blast the wind right into my helmet.
Yeah to be honest after having a big screen on my normal GS there was obviously a lot of wind buffeting but it is a naked. Along with the standard screens I imagine there will be screen bolt on's or extentions to further heighten the screen 👍
This is a beauty!
@@Thabang_G Definitely 👍. Have u had the chance to ride one or are you an owner?
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTripsThis is my next bike, I’m a new rider and taking delivery of my G310R next week, but in two years I’m hoping to get on a 900R! I think it’s stunning and very well balanced for me.
@@Thabang_G that'll be a great transition eventually from the GS310 to the F900R. You have some exciting times ahead. Let me know how it all works out. I posted a vid on the GS310 too, it'd be great to get your feedback/comments on here how you get on with both bikes as an owner 👍👊
Great review, funnily I test rode the exact same bike a few mnths ago and just took delivery of one this week, great bike 👍🏽
Small world! The F900R did make a positive impression on me too, you have some good times ahead with that bike. Are you just going to use it for day trips or anything longer?
Nice video and nice accent. You sound local to me (Leicester [Coalville]) but could be anywhere in East Midlands. Nice to recognise the roads.
I really appreciate you're comments, thanks 👍 Yes I'm south Leicestershire, nice that you recognise some of the roads. I tend to go out to the Rutland Roads as its nice around there although some 50mph zones now. Daz
planning to get one
Awesome Fred, you won't be dissapointed, let me know here as a new owner how you first get with the bike, the weathers arrived just in time for you! 👍😁
Very detailed video made, well done
Thanks Harry, I really appreciate that comment 🙏
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTripsnot a problem, going to look at one of these tomorrow afternoon for my first bike 👍
@@HLB2512 did you see bam3xs comments about this being his first ideal bike? Positive comments. Let me know how you get on 👍
I'm looking at the bmw configurator and can only find like 2 seat options or so + a lowering kit. So I don't get why you mentioned so many seat options there.
Hi mircea, on the BMW Motorrad website, select the model of the bike then click the 'DATA & EQUIPMENT' box. Scroll down to 'Dimensions/Weights', all the seat height options are there. Hope this helps.
Thank you..
You're welcome 👍
never understood why reviewers dont put the year of the bike being testing in their title. despite it being discussed in the video, people will be searching for these videos years down the road and you come across a video with no year in the title just doesnt help anyone
Thanks for the spot, I've amended the thumbnail.
seat options are for your country. its fixed in asia. probably on the low side; NO options. sos not for asia for sure. Displays tft pressure ? NOT a alarm only ?
I didn't know some options were not available in certain countries, that's not giving customers more choice which is a shame.
can cruise be added later as sure not std in asia.
It's an interesting question Ed? I would advise to contact you're region BMW Motorrad dealership, they should have the answer for you.
It can be added. I asked the BMW dealer in my country during my visit today :)
@@Cem_Ertug Great 👍
Nice looking bike but 1250 looks nicer
Horses for courses I guess, I think they both look great though.
I'm actually favouring the old GS looks compared to the new 1300.
The 1250GS looks more imposing...
imho, aside from the GS maybe, all BMW motorcycles look dull & boring
The look of a bike is subjective I guess 🤔
