As a member of this crew, may I say I was honored to be a part of this and I thank #youtube #vsauce3 Jake, and the rest of the team for literally making a dream come true. I was in the credits and on the BTS video for a show I cant wait to watch! I hope to see you guys soon. I guess I have new dreams to think up. I hope i get to come work with the team again next season.
Jake always seems to have a high production value. Remember when he shot on the set of Penny Dreadful? All of his videos are like mini movies about science
@@ectojerk6928 I know! I love this guys work. I wish he would get picked up by mythbusters. Like some of his stuff is even more detailed than them. I love educational videos that focus on things like this
THAT would be an interesting topic for the behind-the-scenes video! But instead, it's just "Look, it was so cool making this! Guys, don't you think it's cool, too?"
I noticed physics girl used the pronunciation of gigawatts as (G-GA-watts) which was the original intended way that the S.I. unit was supposed to be instead of the more common "GI-GA-watts" that is used by everyone else and for that she receives extra credit. Awesome stuff guys
4:11 Fun Fact: Micheal J Fox would film his TV show Family Ties during the day and Back to the Future at night. He roughly would get about 3 hours a sleep a night and would sleep in the back of the station wagon that would transport him between filming locations.
"I got a little taste of what it was like to make the original movie".. More than a little, you got a big taste of it, reproducing parts of it very impressive.
This is a really amazing recreation. Kudos to the whole cast and crew! I was hoping you would've explained a little more behind the Universal backlot services, and how you got access to the courthouse square for filming. Great job!
Hey guys! What an incredible job?! Wow, I'm totally impressed! I've got a cool story about a scientist who is travelling back in time to talk with his younger version about the consequences of his future if he's going to be the same person as he is now. So to avoid getting lonely and unhappy in his all future he builds a time machine in his basement and travels back to the '90s to talk to his teenage version. But the problems starting when he realises that the younger him is not in the place where he needed to be. I call the effect "Balance paradox". So what nature did to avoid keep the same person in the same place and time more then once is it sent the younger version back to the future to fill up the gap in time and space. This is where all the complications started. I'm a sci-fi writer and I also got a video-related business by the way and I'm working on stories like this for 15 years in my own language. (That's why my English composition is no the best) Let me know if you know anyone interested in making a film out of it.
I bet universal probably paid for it to promote rentals of the movie on its 35th anniversary, but vsauce3 probably had to pitch the idea and it probably cost $5k or $10k.
I can't understand how they recreated doc's lab with the huge speaker. Was it just a giant piece of grey spandex stretched tight to make the cone shape? It would be hard to re-collect all the memorabilia that appeared in the intro to that movie, including a TV set and a VCR to put an NTSC signal into the TV.
Are we not going to hear from John Kaefer, the composer who who got dangerously close to Back to the Future music? 😅 Great work, honestly, especially for a completely digital orchestra!
I love reactions like this! People always have this image of CGI being obviously fake-looking, completely oblivious to the times when CGI has been right in front of their noses and they never noticed!
So much fun to be on the original set with you, Jake!! Congrats on an amazing show!!
Beals Science hey sir, did you have a TED TALK?

Beals Science thank you very much :) & thank you for being someone who helps makes this world a better place! Knowledge is power!!!!!
Puppy Puppington Thank you!!
It’s insane that they filmed this on the actual set. It’s so impressive, that the set is even there! Amazing video!
"Jake, that's not a real building"
"IT'S REAL TO ME"
I love it!
Vsauce, once again, creating the youtube red shows that have the best quality possible
This is the only "remake" that should be allowed :)
Gustavo Polo this is more of an homage.
The same guy who played the mayor is in the movie I knew I recognized him that is awesome in so many ways
And he looks the same age!
@@leijen208 Maybe he has a DeLorean?

Shows how far you can grow in 10 years!
Somehow doesn't receive much views often, sad tbh,for a high quality production video
You shot it on the actual set?! That’s so cool!!
Not the set Isaac the real place
With an original actor!
I agree! I LOOOVED the movie!
This must have been so FUN AND COOL!!
it's also a real building to me Jake, i feel you
I'm so excited for this series

Brilliant brilliant brilliant, great Scott “see you in, the future ..
I love the film Back To The Future and I absolutely love how well you translated it into science
With all the investment here this series should be shown on Television
@Boco Corwin ddq
To be on TV it has to have expensive production and be awful.
Wait, the DeLorean really sounds like a deep V8 motor engine? I am stoked.
right? I thought they added the sound effect!
@nah dude Yeah, it isn't. In the movie they added the V8 sound in post production I believe

This was awesome. What a great way to kick of 35 years of BTTF!!
A big salute to your hard work sir!
This has always been my fav of the vsauce channels and vids like this are why

faithful to the movie, too, i was surprised that the marty character pronounced it gig-a-watts...
My favourite part is The part where doc goes “88 Miles per hour!!!”
It's weird, i got the notification for the actual episode, but not this one
So Vsauce3 is going full Mythbuster.
It's about time

Great Scott! That looks great
This was amazing :) put a smile on my face!
Man this show is pretty awesome
This Behind the scene is as interesting as the episode itself!
Great work, Jake & the crew.

I can’t believe that so many people took part in making this video.
SO MUCH EXCITMENT FOR ALL OF THIS 😁😁😁😁😁
Great episode. Too bad I won’t be able to see the others
you will, just not today. One every week. The whole season is free, only thing you get if you pay is you can binge watch them
For his work he is still underrated
INCREDIBLE PRODUCTION!!! falo do BRASIL, AMO DE VOLTA PARA O FUTURO, I LOVE THE BACK TO THE FUTURE, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
If you apply too much science to a movie about time travel , you may create a paradox
Love this so much! Wish I could visit this place!
two few views, he deserves much more!

How do you finance something like this!? Does youtube really make money off of this series? The production value is through the roof!!!

Fabulous!!
Mayor Goldie Wilson, I like the _sound_ of that
You mean 1985, Jake. It would be 34 years if it was 1985.
I Love you, Jake.
You have the most badass job, Jake..... For real...

Physics Girl is the best part.

Hey man. Such a great video! They still have the set there?
Now we need someone to make a shot by shot comparison.
Loved it! :D
Ollé muy divertido,, la película es una de mis favoritas y esto me comprobó cosas que lógicamente sabía pero entretenidamente

Why is the original set of back to the future still standing in the first place ?
I want back to the future 4!
Vsauce3 is the Game of Thrones of RUclips channels.
"ITS REAL TO ME!"
They also unbolted the Mr fusion on the back of the DeLorean there was a hole right there did anybody see that
I thought that DeLorean had a bit more oomph. :)
Jake looks like he could be Rick Moranis son
