Universal Studios returns to the previous location in Arleta California used as Marty McFly's house for the 3rd and final sequel of the trilogy. The Delorean Time Machine has already been destroyed by the train and Marty runs back to his house to find old Biff polishing his Dad's BMW and his new Toyota in the garage..... imagine this is all playing out in front of you as you view it from the next door neighbor's house, through the kitchen window on your new VHS camcorder! This amazing behind the scenes footage has been kept on the shelf of that neighbors house ever since that day, only to be given to me (Videobob of Bob's Prop Shop) on my recent visit to the house in March of 2013 to be shared with you the fans!!!
(I edited out the personal portions of the video with family members.)

I was one of those kids in the background watching my Grandmother and Mother film this video! As you can imagine we thought WE were famous! Haha. MJF was the most charming and polite person. He took Family pictures with my family. He held my sister in the photos in that hang inour hallway to this day. We hung out with the whole set. MJF would jump our backyard wall after every cut and smoke. Haha. Then come back and look at the shot, then mingle with us. It's was unbelievable. We rode in the Delorean up and down the street. Some of the best memories in my life..What makes this video even more dear to our hearts is the little blonde boy at the beginning was killed by a Drunk Driver in 2010. He was my Baby Brother. Don't let anyone drive drunk.
+Kyle Mccreery Marty was a reefer addict?
don't know what he was smoking, but his trailer looked like it was on fire a few times...hahA
Thanks for sharing your memories. So sorry to hear about your little brother. He looked adorable.
+Kyle Mccreery It is a lot of "hurry up and wait", but interesting nevertheless!
It's been a while since I've seen the movie but this scene is etched in my mind.
Sorry about your baby brother. Good quality on a 1980s video! Take care!
So sorry for the loss of your brother! This video was awesome! I fell in love with MJF on Family Ties and I am so jealous that you guys lived next door to the McFly's ;)!!
Who agrees this is the best movie series ever made
It's the best sci-fi trilogy ever made.
It's the best time travel movie series ever made.
Yes sir I totally agree
i do
I am on your side
No almost but Star Wars the first 3 movies were better ;) and have made a continuing franchise, whilst this is now dead. You might say it didn't stand the test of time, although it's one of my favorites ;)
This is amazing how someone used a camcorder to get all this behind the scenes footage I bet even Michael j.fox would be surprised to see this old video
This is like time travel.
So is: THE TRUSTY BUTTER KNIFE!
I know right! We are time traveler's when watching this! 🔮Lol 😂
It really is. Nobody is glued to their phone. It's weird to see so many people looking up.
80s to early 2000s. The best decades human kind have gone through. Unforgettable, unbeatable times.
1970s - 2000s
can you imagine waking up one day and seeing this going on outside your window?? wow
Well, for a movie being filmed in a normal neighborhood, the movie company have to go around to every house in the neighborhood and get permission to film there. If a lot of people don't allow them, they're then forced to make a compromise or film somewhere else. If you just "wake up" to this happening in front of your house one day, that could mean some legal trouble for the movie company!
@@kimeojin6447 let me tell you this even if I knew about it and I woke up to this one morning I would still be like ..woah...mmmk?
😎
This video is a rare diamond.
Imagine living next door and watching one of the most iconic films being made!! 😲
Seeing Michael J. Fox hanging out with those kids in the end, you can tell he was really meant to be a father. Absolutely perfect with kids, it’s very heartwarming to watch
And this was just about the time he became a dad for the first of four times.
YOUR KIDS MARTY SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT YOUR KIDS!!!!!
I love the 80's. I'm 46 and still love this movie. God bless Fox. Before everyone on a cell phone, gotta love it. The times we're living in sucks on so many levels. The internet ruined and helped society. I miss the 80's
he sure was sweet to everyone including those kids. just a great human being!
lol.... I can never watch this movie again without thinking about the neighbors next door peeking through the blinds
Eh, if you think about it right, you could just pretend it’s the typical nosey neighbor 😂.
Just memory wash the set equipment😂
Michael kissing those kids goodbye on the cheek was so charming. Warms a person's heart!
+CartridgeCanuck Yeah times were more normal and innocent back then. Today some tabloid news would make him out to be some kind of pervert.
People need to appreciate just how raw and awesome this video is! Long before go pros and iPhones. People didn’t even think to catch stuff like this back in the 80s. We use to watch with our own eyes. Now we record everything! So to get this vid is fantastic
Michael J Fox is a great man, he shows his appreciation to all who work with him as well as to the neighbours who's fence he jumps as a parting gesture.
LEGEND
This is a home video of my in-laws. That adorable little boy in the beginning is Shane McCreery. Unfortunately on Nov 1 2011 he was killed by a drunk driver. The filming of this movie and the kindness MJ Fox showed is something this family will never forget. This film was not put up by the family and to my understanding was stolen, but I am not 100% on the details of that, for those that asked. It's pretty cool that Shane lives on in this and so many people have seen it. He always wanted to be famous! There are pictures of MJ Fox with my husband and sister in law too. Pretty cool.
Correction: it was 11-1-10, my nephew's birthday is 11-1-11. I always get those two mixed up
+Sheena Scott Thank you for sharing the background..it is an amazing time capsule...May I ask who lives in this house now? Same family?
Did you see the Delorean
Why do you not know the circumstances? If those are your in-laws why don't you ask them?
Sheena McCreery that is so sad i am sorry for your loss brother much respect may he rip
18:53 ugh, those girls were so lucky
I've always said a camcorder is the closest thing to a time machine we'll ever have. I literally felt like I went back in time and was sitting inside the DeLorean watching this scene being filmed. Big thanks to whoever filmed this and preserved it for all this time. This footage is a true gem.
Lord Kayoss Definitely true
I'm surprised this video survived!
+mr6johnclark Good quality too!
+overtoke if it was a pro vhs cassette was used (one of the ones with Chromium) that recording was solid for at least 30 years... as long as it wasnt stored near a floor speaker, like lots of people seem to have done.
ya
+mr6johnclark RUclips didn't exist back in the '80s, the production probably figured he'd never be able to show it to anyone.
+Coffeebeard You'd be surprised how long a VHS tape can last. I have a twenty year old copy of Jurassic Park that I've had in storage all this time and I played it yesterday -- looks the same as it did back in '95.
The best American film of all time. I've been watching it every New Year's weekend (in Russia it's 10 days) for 15 years. This masterpiece helped me to know and understand America better than all the other American films combined!
awweeeee michael was so sweet with the kids im tearing up he gave them kisses😭
How cool would that be watching BTTF being filmed next door to your home?
This is PURE historic footage! Wow, I have no words. Amazing
Wow this video was made before the internet
+Chris Wilkerson Actually the "internet proper" was established in 1988, a year before this video. Although the internet previously called ARPANet in US had already been established in the 70s.
+Riz Panjwani Actually that is what the Illuminati fabricated and taught you to accept as reality. Stop trying to be a know it all.
+davewah3 LOL conspiracy theorists
+Riz Panjwani Neeeeeeeeeeeeerrrd! :)
Apple, AT&T, Ford, Mercedes, the US Army, Comcast, etc... already owned their /8 blocks by that point.
This is beyond EPIC, LIKE HOLY SHIT! THIS IS THE GREATEST!!
yepp BTTF is always the greatest - epic!!!!
its nice film
A much better time to be alive.
I’d give anything to have a Time Machine. My ass would go straight back to 1985 for sure. The world was a better place.
I wish I could go back to the 80’s…
I'm 90's baby but claim the 80's 😅
I miss the 80s so much, the movies, the TV, the toys, the music, the hair, it was an awsome time. Miss the 90s just as much.
@@secondswell me too...graduated in 1985, joined the Air Force, bought my 1st new car an '85 Bandit II Trans Am, got my 1st house in '86, had a son in '89...life was good ✌💖☮
I've always heard Michael J Fox was a very very down to earth guy and never refused a fan ever. A true actor and a gentleman. Id love to meet him one day. Who knows I live in Ga about 10 minutes away from the movie studio in Peachtree City where tons of films are being made. Oh well time to go break open my Back To The Future Trilogy and start a marathon!
Lovely see Michael young and enjoying his life. A very iconic character, such talent.
Micheal J is just so authentic to the core. What a gentleman and to the gent who filmed this, you captured one of the most incredible behind the scenes moments ever. Fantastic worth while video!
Thank you!
And this is exactly how boring it is to actually make a movie. Lots of waiting around! LOL!
+Thomas Kirby Yeah i bet they spend the whole day there for 10 seconds in the film.
james dean yup... But those numbers don't lie. Lol sitting around waiting to get recorded, he's getting paid by doing just that.
+Kaynos Ain't it the truth, besides in the Animation industry, you'd be lucky you get a second of filming done a day.
+Hotsex spy thats a little overline, you get to record more than a second a day XD
Adrian Sannes It's the truth, coming from first hand experience. Granted, it's a worst case scenario.
Amazing now we are going back in time 😂
Rest in peace, Wendie Jo Sperber, aka Linda McFly!
Yes so sad ☹️
if you watch the movie the first time or 15th time, its always exciting. love the movie and the actors! 💯👍
I look at those cars in the driveway and I can imagine Biff saying, “I’m just finishing up the second coat of wax now, Mr. McFly.” Good memories 😀
Oh man there's that beautiful black Toyota!!!
+manstang351 I always loved those KC light covers. So 80's. Much retro.
+netwalker productions so epic!
Yep that tacoma is so much better than a delorean that travels through time
that toyota was badass, I've always loved that truck when watching this movie
not a tacoma
I don't understand the hate this video is getting. I guess it must be troll Tuesday. I think its fascinating to be a fly on the wall for something so iconic.
A fly on the mcfly wall lol
This video reminds me so much of being a kid, not only the movie but all of the clothes the crew and family were wearing. I remember my parents and their friends dressing like this. The late 80s/early 90s were the absolute best.
I'm always amazed at the sheer amount of WORK required just to set up even simple shots like these. The people, the furniture, the equipment... ALL of it has to be choreographed just right or a lot of time and money is wasted.
This is heavy
Now I get that ;D agree. U also travelling through all the videos footages of BTTF , n MJF stuff? ;)
NataMessi you bet 👌🏼
@@TheRealNabil :) cant get enough
Michael j.fox: he's an ass whole !
Heavy why does that word, heavy keep popping up, is there something wrong in the future?
That's the sweetest thing seeing him with kids!!!! Genuine good guy!
The video quality is outstanding for being a home video from almost 30 years ago. I don't care what others think, I love it. very cool. Thank you for sharing.
Good grief your a douche
You have no clue
This was done over 30 years ago.
Remember, this is before cell phones etc.
Probably the neighbor just grabbed a phone camera and went at it.
Don't be a clueless tard

@@chuckfan1 What the fuck are you talking about? And it's *you're, ya moron. If you're going to insult somebody for no reason, at least learn to spell. You might wanna reread what I wrote. I didn't insult anything. In fact, I was amazed of how good the footage is. Now who's the douche, idiot?
Thats so cool...classic trilogy movie filmed across the street from your house. Too freakin cool.
Makes me feel so old when I realize this movie come out 30 years ago.
Same here, I was 17 in 1989. Such a great time, I loved the '80s!

@Ray Be kind to others, it goes a long way We know that already
What amazes me is not a single person is using a cell phone. *Mind blown*
+JZPotter Of course not. He was making a joke, you idiot.
+Kenny Duffy But the joke isn't very good because it's pretty common knowledge, and very obvious, that there weren't cell phones at the time.
+ProfesserNutButter shut up
+ProfesserNutButter that's the joke.
A joke is supposed to be funny.
Heck of a thing to see some of the final shots of the movie being filmed first- hand! Everything looks so weird from this angle. . .and the ending, with them giving Michael J. Fox the plush fox, is adorable. :)
what a special opportunity this was to film this footage
Idk about any of you guys but it's so cool watching one of my favorite films getting ready
If we really could go back to that simple time in life. This is so cool.
I wish I could go back to the past.....
Me too
@Ray Be kind to others, it goes a long way Yup
@Ray Be kind to others, it goes a long way Actually you're right though because as great as things were 30 years ago I have to remember that I was a minor back then and certainly things that I couldn't do on my own back then I'm able to do lots and lots of things on my own since now that I'm a full grown man with a great paying job and have various opportunities to hangout and have a great time every weekend when I'm off from work and step out of my element and go to certain places that I've never been before and just go home whenever I feel like it without needing parental consent
Love how Michael's chair says "Roller of the Eyeballs"
There it is!! OMG !!! The TOYOTA XTRA CAB FROM 1985 !
I´m gonna cry.
Wow..... you see, this is why RUclips was invented.
To the 348 ppl who disliked
I guess you weren’t ready for that but....
Your kids are gonna love it
And we DO love it though ! Hehe . And our kids gonna love it too. Precise predictions
Thank You for the look behind the scenes of how a movie is made.
I have always been a big fan of MJF, I admire how great a actor he is and how he has led his life with dignity.
Great Scott!
Michael J before Parkinsons took over.
Gotta hand it to him, though. He got a shit load of lemons and still managed to make lemonade from it. Thanks to him, research in Parkinsons has gained a lot of focus since he virtually became a spokesperson. Of course, he stands to gain a lot from any progress made so he's not doing this entirely from an altruistic point of view, but many others also stand to gain from any progress made, so win-win.
Just something so magical about those times...
No phones
I love the fact that not one person complained to this next door neighbor about filming behind the scenes like this. Now days Hollywood people feel so empowered that she would have been forced to sign release forms or not be able to film like this at all.
To be fair, back then there wasn't a thing called "the internet" or "social media". Movies today are huge investments and if personal videos revealing too much of the plot gets out there, it might be damaging to the earning potential.
pHD77 thats partially true it’s just that people are mainly egotistical and self centered nowadays. Everything has to be politically correct. Showing actors behind the scenes now days would be considered invasion of privacy but yet we have TMZ haha 😂
You're right. I bet you if Michael J. Fox has seen this since its upload that he probably appreciates it and the fact that it documented filming history. These egomaniacs nowadays won't be able to enjoy these types of memories 30 years from whenever they film now.
This video is solid gold for a real fan of this amazing movies!! Filming this from the window next door.... EPIC! 👏🏻😁
This is pure Gold! What a treasure find to be there shooting this footage.
Back before the crew or anyone would say "stop recording". Good footage.
Imagine being neighbors with the movie set of back to the future
Круто было бы что тут скажешь
Damn! Talk about "nosey neighbors"!;)
J/K! That was seriously AWESOME!
As much as I love this its a reminder that we are all getting older !
This is the only time I am thankful for those "nosey neighbors"
This has got to be one of the best videos I've seen. Let me elaborate why because I'm still processing it. First of it is a video ARCHIVE of the filming of back to the future. In my opinion it's the best movies ever made in my lifetime. You are seeing how people interact before our society was polluted by smart phones. No one is looking at a life sucking screen. Everyone in this video was interacting and present. It shows how kind and friendly Michael J Fox was to the children and parents, he was real big movie star by the time he was filming the 3rd back to the future, yet he was just another guy having fun on the set. Think about how awful and destructive the Kardashian sluts have been in our society. Do you think the poisonous Kardashians would take time to hug and kiss children who were fans? They live I a alternate universe BUBBLE. They are famous for nothing, and their talent is being vain and looking good while destroying morality, It's very sad what today's society admires and rewards. This is why we miss the 80s, it was a magnificent era, even people who didn't experience the 80s wish they did. Thank you for sharing this, it's truly a priceless video.
When you see things like this it makes you realize just how boring making movies actually is. It's a LOT of pacing, standing, waiting. Then when something happens it's very brief. Then more waiting, standing, pacing, talking, waiting.
+flexor212000 It often takes *months* to create a 90 minute final product.
+flexor212000 Well man, its better than now. Now they just stand in boring green screen and pretend they are in somewhere else
+pooch K A 90 minute comedy is more like 1 month worth of filming, not 2 or 3, but still, it can take days just film a few minutes of usable dialogue. You could shoot maybe 15 minutes worth and have only 3-5 after editing. Another thing that slows down filming is anything outside that is time sensitive due to light. You might only a 3 hour window to film and have to try again tomorrow.
+flexor212000 Lots of checking the gate before there was digital.
+bunnyfreakz at least they are not distracted by curious onlookers
Whoo this is heavy!
Really cool video, not sure why it popped up for me on RUclips today, but glad it did!
The video was blessed by the Algorithm.

Thank you for sharing this. It reminded of when I was on a movie set one time where there was a lot of nothing going on with actors sitting under trees in the shade and someone walking around with a big Kool Aide dispenser on their back handing out drinks. Every now and then everyone would gather up and act out what seemed like a minute or two scene, then stroll back to the shade. I made a comment to the director about this and he looked at me and said, " It's not the time that the scenes take.. it's the time between the scenes that take the time." He kinda sounded like Rosanna Rosanna Danna for a minute.
This is amazing!!! That the neighbors of the house they are shooting at hot sooo much behind the scene footage!!! Priceless !! Sooo sad the actress that played Marty’s sister passed away! Just a phenomenal movie!!! Really one of Spielberg’s best!!! ❤️❤️❤️
