If the aircraft did not return to the gate and just taxied back (the video was cut), I am willing to bet it was a checklist issue. Perhaps they forgot to set the trim for takeoff which set off an alarm. Of course this is just a guess, but it clearly was not a mechanical.
I bet as soon as they throttled up, the takeoff configuration warning alarm went off and they knew something wasn't right so they killed the throttles, went over the checklists again, double checked everything and lined back up for takeoff.

Kinda ironic. This trainee in tower sounds bad, I also heard him after he got ratings on another video where he lost his ratings

It might have been a passenger problem and the flight attendants called off the takeoff to the cockpit at the last second
