    was in Bequia in 1976, sailed from Lemington, south of England in 75, crossed to Barbados, then Trinidad and north from there. I am also from Canada. We had a sextant a few charts and a few books hahaha. Today everybody has so much electronics. We sailed without all the frills, less time repairing stuff, more time enjoying sailing. we did have a compass aahahah. A few videos back I think I heard you say your water measured 281 PPM and you were happy with that. It may have been another sailboat with that info but If it was you , please try to get the ppm down to at least under 40 . Zero is perfect.

    • @SailingJibsea
      @SailingJibsea  2 года назад

      Lots of electronics to help out these days for sure! Oh wow, haven’t heard anyone out here getting 0 ppm out here!

      We are! Now that it’s winter, the evening temperature is a lot nicer and it’s cooler at night, nothing like Chicago but we’re thankful for lower temperatures and humidity!

    Lunch for the Shark, good job.
    Yes, Naps are good, sometimes 2 or 3 does the trick. lol.
    My wife has one of those fold up cooler bags, would you believe it, it actually works pretty good. But, yet I have real coolers when needed.
    Nice waters and the town, like the colors.

    It seems to me that a lot of the sailors fish to far behind the boat for the speed that they are traveling. A good portion of the fish are going to be right behind the wake foam (if not in it). You should always either be close enough to get the fish in or fast enough troll speed to keep them away from the sharks. Just try it and see if you improve in eatable fish caught.

    You should be a plastic fishing line bobber. The one's that are usually red and white. They won't get waterlogged, and if taken care of, should last for many years. Your lucky that nice gentlemen was there to help you get your keys back. A beer gift is a fair thank you. Raw tuna, yummers. Stay groovy and stay safe.
