LOL Stef the voice of reason in the lighthouse. I did enjoy when Travis got grounded! Looking forward to the future episode of BMX and Mr. No Shirt....
You two work great together. I posted a video of yours Steph on some of the most popular vloggers sites to try to help get your subscribers up. Keep posting and learning and enjoy. Toronto does good.
Yeah sure do the ‘lip test’. There is no test short of a health department analysis that is accurate. Don’t roll the dice. If you get cig really bad you will never be able to eat tropical reef fish again without having a relapse. You will be sensitized to it for life. Get local knowledge. Don’t listen to someone’s RUclips video about it.
After watching your latest video, I hope that you can sail single handed. The way that Travis likes climbing old lighthouses you might have to sail him back to someplace to get a broken neck fixed up! Did you do any videos of the repairs that you had to do when you got your boat - that would be interesting. We have sailed a lot of the Bahamas and enjoy watching your viewpoint of the trip from the Great Lakes. Susan & Rick, SV Othergoose
Travis has been quite the risk taker all his life! 🤪 😖 we filmed clips here and there but not with video making in mind at the time, so perhaps we dig them up and figure out something to do with them! Glad you're enjoying our adventures!
I was on a dive trip once where the dive master had a small Hawaiian sling. As soon as we were in the water the biggest baracuda I had ever seen came right up to us and stared at the end of his pole. He followed us the entire dive. Occasionally the divemaster would shoot a lionfish and the cuda would tear it right off the pole like a freight train. No need to worry, he wasn't after you, they are trying to train them to hunt the invasive lionfish. Still a bit nervewracking when a cuda larger than you follows you for the whole dive 3 feet under you, looking back at you whenever you check to see if he is still there... :)
@@bahamasking2063 hmmm, sorry. Im too old and spoiled to remember... maybe jamaica? Anyway, it might be a bit creepy, but it might also be kinda cool and make some good footage if you speared a few more lionfish. Not sure if you would want to, but id definately be dumb enough to test the theory...
Interesting test for that disease. I guess cooking well doesn’t kill that? Thanks for sharing that tip because I’ve heard about it being a big problem in the south but didn’t know any way to tell if your fish had it ( aside from the pelagic species like mahi, tuna, wahoo, etc being free of it)
From what we’ve heard, cooking it doesn’t kill it. We’re happy someone shared it with us. There’s nothing concrete to determine if a fish truly has it since it’s not detectable by sight/smell/etc but a test like that seems to make sense and doesn’t hurt!
FYI, high end restaurants use really good salt in small amounts to curb the bitterness of some coffees, some of the most expensive salt in the world is almost exclusively used this way
So what time of year did you have to leave the Bahamas and was it because of your insurance guidelines of where you had to be at a certain time of the year ie hurricane season?
Hey Sandra! Our Bahamas visa was for 3 months which allows us to leave with what we think will be enough time to make it down to Grenada before hurricane season
We never have issues with our furler because we don't have one. Hank-on sails FTW, baby! We always have the perfect sail for the wind -no lameo half-furled crap foresail. You can't be a baby too afraid to go out on deck though. Dropping it downwind can be an adventure as well.
You are MEAN!. Showing the giant crab with all that white flesh in the body. Here in northern California, they have decided to charge the same price as gold, well you feel like that when you see the crab price in a store.
Great video, thank you so much.

😂 she def is the voice of reason when it comes to the more riskier business! And yeah! We got some good clips!🚲
You are one of the better cooks I have seen in sailing videos! This was a great video.
Thanks so much! 😆😆
You two have some of the best looking meals on RUclips.
Thank you 😋

Perfect video. Good day for all of us. Good luck. hard work pays off. my best wishes
Thank you very much!
Nice video
best sailing channel ever!
I could see this channel growing like SV Delos did. More content would expedite this growth.
Cool tip about the ciguatera lip test. Hadn't thought of it, but it makes sense.
Yeah! We were happy it was shared with us!

I did the coffee and salt thing once. It's definitely only good for pouring down the sink 🤣
🤣 definitely
FYI, high end restaurants use really good salt in small amounts to curb the bitterness of some coffees, some of the most expensive salt in the world is almost exclusively used this way
Oh wow that’s good to know. I’ll (Steph) definitely need to try that with some of the more bitter coffees we’ve purchased!
Y’all do know that lobster season is closed in The Bahamas right?
Yep. We left the Bahamas back before end of March.
❤️❤️❤️😊
Another lighthouse adventure again- after what happened last time? Be careful out there just say'n.
LAC
Definitely! On both accounts!

I got ciguatera in Bahamas after eating barracuda. That was no fun.

She needs better gear at least fins she had to kick ten times
Got some new fins!😆
Lobster season is closed. The removal of lobster from the ocean during the months of April, May, June and July is illegal.
Yep. We left the Bahamas before end of March.
@@SailingJibsea I can only take your word for it. I trust this was actually the case.
We do not release videos in real time. Our videos are about 2 months behind. We are currently in the USVIs.
