Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and supporters in the USA today. What a lovely tradition you have, I love the idea of a day dedicated to gratitude! I hope you enjoy this fun and Christmassy (kind of 🤭) hot process soap. All the details, including link to the recipe on my blog, are in the description box. Take good care of yourselves, and keep your eye out for my short videos, I'll be sharing a lot more of those in coming months while I write my book (they are much easier and faster to edit! Having good fun with them too 😊). Lots 'a love, Elly 🌸

Oh wow, lovely Elly….love the green colour , I’m always looking for a nice green and last week I infused dried parsley ( I meant to buy spinach 😆) into canola oil for 4 hours and then made a hot process soap for my son , he loves green soaps. Despite buying the wrong dried herb , the soap came out beautiful , like darkish avocado colour, just lovely.
Anyone receiving yours soaps will be lucky Elly and I’m sure they appreciate it .
    Great video 👍

Hi Elly , I just started learning about soaps. I’m a nurse and work from home. I have been following you for a bit, you do a great job of explaining everything. I am just going to try this for me. I do this to help de stress from my job. Thank you for all you do! Kay

That's lovely Kay, and a great reason to make soap for yourself. I was a social worker when I first started soap making, so I understand completely! Enjoy.

Oh that's great! What water level do you use? Do you find your soap very thick and crusty? How hard is it in a week? So many questions! 😄

Lovely colours to the soap. I love orange, green, and cream or white together. I’m currently making one myself with those colours just a month before Christmas. A bit late on for the time of year, late November but I’m gonna go for it anyway. I must try the hot process protocol, I’ve only done hot processed rebatching on errors or failures, and cold process. Love your channel Elly, always look forward your videos. Love from the UK

Thanks, that's so nice. It's never too late to make soap I guess, you can always give it or enjoy it in the new year! :) I love these colours too - and just today I realised it's the Indian flag and the Irish flag colours.

Thanks for this video Elly. I've been too busy to make cold processed soap for Christmas, so this is a great reminder to use the hot process method. The smell sounds amazing and I love the colours, and I chuckled when you got mica everywhere lol! Happy Christmas!

Well I thought I was done making soap for the year too, but there’s something about your videos that inspires me to try new things!
Going to go look for a HP soap recipe to try this weekend! Maybe a dual lye shaving bar?
Thank you again for your wonderful content!
Is it too early to wish you a Merry Christmas? It’s funny because in the soaping world we’ve been thinking about Christmas since July so saying it out loud is finally nice!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Thank you SO MUCH for this hot process soap! I will definitely BE trying it soon!🤩 I tried your Neem soap recipe and it came out FANTASTIC!!👏🙏😍 Now that it has cured it really is a nice soap to shower with! LOVE IT!!! And my friend said she'd never make neem soap, as it stinks....but I don't agree with her....mine actually smells okee....giving the fact that it is a NEEM soap, I think it turned out amazing! I even sent her 1 and just waiting for her response...hehehe. Was also inspired on making a coffee soap after your video, and I actually deviated from your recipe, but it turned out good as well. Haven't used it yet, as I've made SO MANY soaps and I want to try them out ALL at ONCE! Lol! It is super exciting, making soap...and I've come to realize that 1g this way or that way does not really make a difference. So, now I'm less intimidated by soap making...🙏😅
Many blessings, Elly and happy holidays to all here watching a master soap maker!❣🙌🤗😘

Happy Thanksgiving from the U.S.A Elly! I’m so grateful I found your channel. I’m new to soap making and I have learned so much from you just in about a month of watching your videos. I’m on the hunt for a used crock pot at the moment so I can try my first hot process recipe. What size crock pot are you using here?

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  13 дней назад +1

Hi Sarah, thank you! This one is quite small, I think 2-3 litres/quarts? You can also use a stainless steel pot on the stove if you'd rather not get a crock pot. Just use very low heat and turn it off once the temp is adequate.

I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your incredible videos on soap making. Your videos are not only informative but also so inspiring! They’ve given me the confidence to try soap making for a school project.
For my project, I’ve decided to create herbal soap, and I would love to hear your thoughts on my planned recipe. I’ve put together the following ingredients and measurements to make approximately 5-7 bars:
    - Olive oil: 200g (40%)
    - Coconut oil: 150g (30%)
    - Shea butter:100g (20%)
    - Castor oil: 50g (10%)
    - Lye (Sodium Hydroxide):67g
    - Distilled water: 150g
    - Beetroot powder: 0.5-1 tablespoon (for a pink to reddish hue)
    - Essential oils (optional):10-15g (e.g., lavender or peppermint for fragrance)
Since you’re such an expert in the craft, I was hoping you could share your feedback. Do these proportions look balanced to you? Is there anything you’d recommend tweaking to ensure the soap turns out well?
I’d be so grateful for any guidance you can offer! Thank you!

Elly, I am so impressed with your teaching and beautiful soaps! Would it be okay to add some finely ground coffee to the soap, maybe in a layer, and possibly as a light dusting on top? I would actually love to do this with you carrot and turmeric hp soap recipe. Thank you!

    Hi Elly!
When I line my molds with the baking paper my soap comes out wrinkly because the paper wrinkles. I wish I could have clean and straight sides and bottoms! 😅 I was wondering if it’s because when the soap warms up the paper starts to wrinkle.. Any idea what might be up or what I can do? Love your videos! ❤

Hi😊 love your vids so much! Q.: if fluid hp curing time = cp curing time bcuz water amount needed, main advantages from the fluid hp process would be aesthetic + F.O. better scent retention? Curious cuz I never made hp soap yet? Thks in advance 😊xx

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  12 дней назад

Yeah, that's it. It depends on how much water is used though. And some fluid HP soap recipes use yoghurt and other things, with less water, so it depends on how you approach it. But basically, the more liquid, the longer curing time (and more potential shrinkage). I don't think scent retention would be much different, although if you add more water at the end that would cool off the batter more for adding FO (and the more liquid, the slower the batter will harden).

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking

You can use citric acid in any soap recipe, if you want to add it (as long as you do the calculations for it). I don't always add it to my soap recipes.
