Hi Elly, this tutorial inspired me to make my first batch of soap with leftover oils. The soaps had a whitish film on top and some grainy crystals - probably lye that wasn’t dissolved. I cooked them up today, 2 days after the initial pour, and am really happy with the cooking. I can understand how hot process can be relaxing. The only challenge was guessing how much extra water to add to the pot. For my small 3-bar batch, which is a mild cleansing soap, I added teaspoons of distilled water. Thank you very much for the tutorials!

Hi Elly, watched your video this morning the morning after making soap that went horribly wrong. All my fault. Put too hot lye mixture in to oils then when I realised trace was rapid I hurriedly moulded up my soap and put in oven heated to 170 then turned off before putting the soap in. So too hot mix went in to hot over. What a mistake to make. This morning I have a blistered burned mess. Well that was a lesson on patients.
I am so cross with myself as the colour blend for my orange Halloween soap was perfect. I’ll wait longer for the lye mix to cool next time. Boo hoo 😢
I love your videos as you show us things do occasionally go wrong but to carry on and fix it if you can. Lots of love
    Thanks Kim

Great video Elly. Also love your attitude about whole situation. Finding humor in mistakes, instead of kicking oneself, has me laughing at myself quite often. Wish all mistakes had such a simple fix;). Thanks Elly.

Thank you, another very interesting video. It’s good to know that even the experts can make a mistake. And when that mistake happens to me, I know how to fix it.
