It’s called a gun.
Nonsense, the homeowner is terrified and banging on his window while gently pleading with the intruder to leave...This is how they handle deranged outlaws in Laguna, with compassion and care!
There is no Castle Doctrine in California.
@@AmusedChild Wrong.
Yeah California is pretty strict on actually using your firearm for self defense, it has to be a deadly threat I believe entering your home. And I'm sure there's so many other factors.

Bring back the mental institutions. 🤦🏻♂️
Gotta dig up reagans skeleton and ask why he closed our facilities and granted amnesty
Nah, Bring out the second amendment 💥
It’s such a pathetic coping mechanism when CA apologists try to blame Reagan for the massive homeless problem. As if no one in the past 5 decades could have just reinstated forced institutionalization if they wanted to. Newsom could push for it now if he wanted. But the truth is that the State government was united in banning forced institutionalization. This is a state that won’t even keep violent criminals locked up.

You do not have the right to protect your property. What are you talking about? This is California.
Not in California.
There is nothing that can be done; Gavin Newsom laws in California protect all homeless and criminals is prohibited, touching or hurting them...
But Californians didn’t impeach Newsom. I think Californians want this no?

Appears the police want the people to handle him smh
That’s it! They’re leaving it up to the neighbors to take care of it! Either that or hoping someone will give him a ride to Newsom’s neighborhood.
Forty years ago, this would never happen. One of the men or a group of men from the neighborhood would take care of the problem. I'm 62 and this was normal during most of my life. Men took care of problems like these. They were not harassed by homeless people, bums, or squatters. They fought back. If they were old or if there were too many of them, other men would join in to help. Women were not harassed because men would defend them. Now, men and masculinity are shamed and most men under 40 were raised by single moms and fed soy. Boys under 10 are turned into trans. There are no men left anymore. Can you imagine some bum wandering around your neighborhood and harassing people, including your family, and you're a man and you do nothing? I could not live with myself, I would HAVE TO go out and confront the guy and make it clear he is not to return to the neighborhood. I'm not beating my chest or Superman here but I simply would not feel pride in myself as a man if I let this happen and if I did not defend my family. So what if you get arrested and sent to jail for a few days? It is better than to sit and take the humiliation of not defending your home and your family. Do you think any future employer or person would look down on a man if he said, "Yes, I have a felony and spend a month in jail. I beat the hell out of a bum who was going around breaking into homes in the neighborhood." I would hire the guy in a second and be proud of him. What is wrong with people nowadays?
Richard Ramirez (born February 29, 1960, El Paso, Texas, U.S.-died June 7, 2013, Greenbrae, California) American serial killer, rapist, and burglar who murdered at least 13 people in California in 1984-85. He was convicted and sentenced to death but died while in prison.
Crimes happened plenty in 1980. Perhaps moreso. Technology simply makes it appear like it's more common because we are able to hear about ALL the crimes of the country, rather than simple local crimes.
@@TheVermilliaFamily What does a serial killer have to do with a persistent bum stalking around the same neighborhood for months or squatters taking over someone's property? Your comparison is ridiculous.
I agree with what you're saying and I often tell people the same thing. But what I was talking about was more about behavior in public and the unwillingness of men to assert or protect themselves.
@@TheVermilliaFamily Bro what are you even talking about 😂

There is a perfect solution for this. The neighbors need to band together to purchase a one way ticket to a bus terminal in NYC with a key and a number on it. Let him know that there is a package in a locker with a bus ticket to deliver the package back to LA and $5000 if delivered. Little would he know is that the locker does not exist and he is stuck across the country.

Thought OC didn't put up with this 💩
They areest and charge in oc, but the only charges would be trespassing ...petty theft, breaking and entering. Sadly, the charges don't hold much time and criminals know how to game the system.
Ummm yeah. That would not be happening in my yard.

Oh it happens in Cali? Catch and release... Nothing new...
Sounds like he’s looking for a one way ticket to heavens gate….
If he violates a restraining order why isn’t he in jail/prison?
Damn, California isn't even looking after rich people anymore.
There's no justice anymore, Jesus is judging our nation. 😢😢😢
Sounds like a ( fill-in ) paintball problem… with (fill-in)backup…
We should make him neighborhood watch😂
The State needs to give him $2k a month and apologize for treating him like a criminal
Totally. He will sue the city of laguna beach for causing him distress. No doubt
I believe that city has enough 'money' among the residents to 'pool' and hire a lawyer that can 'harass' city, county officials and the p.d. and the state for it's crappy 'don't touch' laws.
A dog barking at him aggressively in a backyard fenced in area, he could look in windows, be a sexual predator, anything.
Why isn’t he kept locked up? Electric fences work as do large dogs.
So does an electric anything.
Taser on full force, unlimited.
"Here, hold this, Mr Bum".
He is mentally ill ...trespassing and a violation of a court ordered restraining order carries a jail time up to one year if violated more than once is mandatory up to 3 yrs in prison time.
Here in California, it's not trespassing unless you have a sign posted. My friends in Oxnard came home from vacation to find a bunch of vagrants having a bbq in their backyard. The police were called, they came out and literally told my friends that their hands were tied because they didn't have a "no trespassing" sign on their gate. The criminals have more rights in California than the law abiding citizens do 🙄.
So defend yourself. Him simply breathing is a assault and a threat.
Gavin prodigy
If Gavin had a son.
Can the cops not escort him to a homeless shelter or put him into some sort of program. It's an inconvenience for the neighbors but it seems like he needs focus and direction. Not constantly arrested and getting release. That's not solving the problem.
They can’t be forced into a program. They have to go on their own, and if they want they can leave any time.
Do you also still believe in Santa Claus?
You think a stranger prowling near your sleeping family at night is a mere inconvenience??
Protect yourself
Batter up
Hire me as security for a few days. Everyone just needs to be on code & not get government involved.
MAKE HIM " NOT WANT TO COME BACK"!!..
I live here in So Cal. Up in LA we deal with this alllll the time. The police arent going to do anything. No one is going to do anything about this. You just need to build a fence.
It’s ridiculous that this man has repeatedly trespassed, has committed breaking and entering, theft and terrorized residents in their own home and he is repeatedly caught and released to offend again! What is the point of arresting him at all anymore ? It’s disgusting how law enforcement does not care and neither do city leaders. They would care and prosecute if their homes were being targeted.
It’s not law enforcement it’s the da and the judge but if you really want to get technical it’s the government that presses the courts
Grew up in Laguna...It used to be so safe... there's nowhere safe anymore 😢
Sad
seems the only person arrested and jailed was nancys hubby's lover with hammer strike, also todd is a wimp
You guys voted for this. Best of luck.
We had this issue when I lived in Puerto Rico, but I think it was multiple people doing it. Also, when I went back to my old neighborhood at the projects to visit relatives, a man was brutally beaten by a large crowd, & parade around the whole projects for everyone to see, for doing the same. No one called the police, & I don't think he made it alive.
He'll break into the wrong house and all hell is gonna break loose
Hold the politicians accountable
The Mental Case is probably a CA politician
Hopefully Todd and several of his neighbors vote correctly in the future.
Here's another example of the use of your 2nd amendment rights. 🙆♀️🙆🙆♂️
its called trespassing.... WTF. Lock him up.
We're talking about California, laws are upside down here. For someone to be arrested for trespassing, there needs to be a visible "no trespassing" sign posted on all entrances to a property. Been told this by the police when I've reported a bum taking a shower in my backyard, and my friends have been told this when they reported bums bbqing in their backyard. People need to vote differently for things to change in California, progressive policies are at work here...and they're anything but progressive.
What's the point of arresting him if he's going to be released the next day
wait until he enters and defend your home
Buy a German shepherd
Time to dig a hole.
"That guy? Yeah, we don't see him anymore, don't know where he went..."
Make Asylums Full Again!
Another reason keeps coming back, it's nicer there than other places, he's not afraid to sleep there and nobody else is on this turf, knows his way around, your habits, when you turn off your lights et he is watching all of you and this is stalking, don't wait til he grabs a kid or hurts an elderly, someone single, his intentions long term not known. He is checking you all out and maybe you can get orders of protection, all the neighbors, get pics of him all over, he will have to stay away from the area or be arrested, but then could be right out again. Catch and release not working for the victims of this type of crime.
I don't know what happened. I guess he tripped, hit his head and rolled into the pool. I tried CPR to no avail. So sadly he's dead and no one can do anything about it. What are ya gunna do?
I swear, if law enforcement won't do nothing about it, then we the people have to take it up into our own hands. It's that simple.
Mental Institutions are needed.
If he was doing that in east l.a.or watts. His little adventure would have been over awhile ago.But laguna beach folks are to civil and patiently hopeful he just goes away.Personally if that was my yard. There would not be a 2nd time.
I'm glad I live in a place I can defend my home and family.

We have the same problem in KC Missouri. This is an example of ineffectual governance. We need to elect much better people in municipal and state governments.
A pitbull, or a couple of Dobermans .
California needs to start enforcing the laws. And stop letting mental cases out in public. They have more rights.
OFFER THE GUY A JOB?
A guy recently asked me for about twenty bucks to get a hotel room, like that's a life saver. One night and he's begging again, get a job, they are out there, I don't have sympathy for people not wanting to work, if able to and he said he was kicked out of somewhere so he did something wrong.
Remember these simple words to solve the problem;
"I was in fear for my life because he had a weapon"
No sympathy. homeowners choose not to protect their property.... deal with it.
Wow, my house would be up for sale, so fast.😢
Fight for your property, what’s wrong with you.
How irresponsible to keep letting him out...More innocent people stay in jail a lot longer...i wonder why he isn't held accountable for breaking the restraining order...
Cities ordinances need to change, alot of them wont alow gates higher than a couple of feet tall like Huntington Beach. People need to be able to secure thier patio areas.
And if this guy just happens to disappear one night would anyone miss him? Stuff happens.
