Thanx Joxh That answers a lot of my questions. I quit trucking 33 years ago and things have changed a lot since 1981. I bought a 94 Pete and all the paper work you need now is driving me crazy ( thank goodness I am a little crazy anyway ) I guess wanting to haul cattle at 60 yrs.young might be crazy to some people but not me. I'm good for 800 miles and I have herd most hauls are 400 - 700 miles is there any truth to that ? What make trailer do you think is best Merrit,Wilson, Barret or Eby ? Thanx again Joxh
Joxh : I live in East Texas (Bullard) around Tyler and was thinking about hauling from sale barns around this area to Tx panhandle , Oklahoma , Kansas and maybe South East Colorado. I currently work as a boat captain out of Pascagoula Ms. but am ready for a career change back to trucking.
Thanks for that info. I have been wanting to get in to cattle hauling and was not sure how to set up a trailer. I am still not sure about spreading the weight on the trailer ( dont want to get too top heavy). I expect to be overweight that is part of the game but does a spread axle help you get your axle weight close to leagle . Please do some more videos they are very helpful . Thanx again
Joxh : Thanks for the advice . I have a 48 foot Fontain drop deck I am rigging up to haul hay. I hauled Lufkin pumping units back in 1970's and they didn't like it if you showed up with Transcraft trailer. I think Lufkin quit making trailers a few years back. My truck & trailer have farm tags for now and I was going to play the ( I'm hauling my own stuff game) for now. I see lots of bull wagons on I 20 around Shreveport and they must be on that Hereford haul.
