Thank you so much for posting. I talked my father into a 2010 RX 350. He passed away last year and your videos help me reminisce father-son car time as well as keep it maintained for years to come.
You saved me a lot of money and enabled a clean checklist for what’s needed for this job! This video is extremely important. Please continue with these videos.
Thank you for the installation video and the Amazon link. I asked Lexus for a quote on the struts and they're $200 a pair ($100 per strut). Thanks again.
Thanks for this video. My RX raises the hatch but then (sometimes) starts closing on me with a little bump-bump-bump-bump as is gradually but surely closes on me. I'm going to try struts before I replace the motor.
Thanks for the vid! Good thinking with the broomstick. I also used a vice grips on the opposite strut to prop it up. Just changed mine on my 2012. Best $20 i spent in awhile! Lol
i had a knocking in mine. it was the clamp that holds the strut in place. it was all rusted, but you cannot see it or even if you try to wiggle you will not hear the knocking. since i cannot find just the clamp, i decided to buy a pair from amazon. solved the issue!
Excellent videos! Just bought a 2010 RX 350...love the car...there's channel on here and the guy is called Viktor G, he's a Master Lexus Technician, I'm sure you're familiar with his channel...where did he go? His channel now says there's no content?...there were TONS of RX 350 videos and now - nothing...
I also recently completed my trunk lift supports from amazon. The OEM for this car came out to $100 so i definitely did NOT think it was worth it. $30 amazon product is more than sufficient
Does anyone know how long these typically last? I was talking with a service rep at my local dealership and he commented that the after market struts only last 6 months...and that's why you should buy the $120 oem ones...lol...
Well sometimes that is true(if you've seen my LG dryer video), and I typically like to buy OEM parts, but when there's a huge price difference sometimes it's worth a try. In my case everything I've bought that are in all my car videos is still working fine, I have had zero issues.

LOL, I debated whether to leave those parts in, glad you liked it!

Glad it helped!
I will order and change them after watching your video. Thank you from Southern California.
Glad to help!

Awesome! Ya in this case I don't see the need to spend the extra money on OEM.

Definitely just the struts are all you need! You'll see the difference immediately
@CarolinaCowboys It worked. Fix was pretty easy.

Vice grips is a great idea!
Good stuff. 2010 rx450h guy here. Your videos make me feel like (outside of maybe a battery issue) I can reasonably maintain my suv.
Nice! Glad to help, hope you're a subscriber!
Dude love your videos.. helps me with my RX thanks.
Glad they're helpful!
Thanks for posting! I've recently replaced my front hood struts. Good videos on the leds, struts and speakers. I've really enjoyed this car so far.
Nice! It's definitely been a great vehicle
Good stuff, glad to see I do not have to unbolt the strut brackets!
Glad it helped
Thank you for sharing. Was there a need to put a C- clamp back on the new supports?
That was only for taking them off, it's easier to put them on, you leave the clip alone
I used an A frame ladder and some 2x4s to hold up the hatchback. Much safer than a pole that can move.
Good idea

Watching this , man I was trying to help you put the last piece together 😎
Haha, yeah it was a challenge!

Oh wow, I had not seen him before but I hope he's ok
Thanks, this made the job much easier.
Glad it helped
Great video and thank you! Will do the same and have my son give me a hand too. Great tip on the grease. Does the new one need clips after install?
Thanks! The clips come with the new ones pre-installed, the whole thing will just pop on
Do you have to have any special powered struts? 0:24
Not for the 2010 model, they are all the same I just chose a certain brand. I think I put a link in the video description.
just bought mine hope they do the trick they were like $32 on AMAZON
Nice!
Good job - very straight forward
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Glad to see you are also a human like the rest of us. Haha.
HAHA! Glad it was helpful
Thanks so much for this. I need to do it. Are the any brands of these struts that you recommend? Mine go out in the cold now. Every time
I put links to everything I buy in the video description, they've been good so far
@@CarolinaCowboys thanks!!
Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Saved me 1500 thanks !
Haha, nice!
I have a Orem radio problem..radio witches stations and goes to cd …nuts man… especially on hot days.. any feed back
You might have a sticky button, try pressing all the buttons a few times to see if one is stuck. Also, take out any CD's and it won't go to CD.
How’s the part holding up since then?
The hatch struts are holding up just fine. Now I have a problem where the motor is wearing out and not able to pull down the hatch.
@@CarolinaCowboys😅 one problem fixed, another appears. Im sure you can fix it! Post a video and if you do!
@@tayshow5642 replacing that hatch motor is a huge pain because you have to take apart the roof and side panels and work around the airbags
@@CarolinaCowboys 🤯 sounds scary!
Can you do a video replace struts for your 2016 rx?
Ya definitely I'll be doing one when mine wear out
Does this model have height adjustment save setting ? I have 2011 and cant figure it out
I don't think they introduced that until the 2016 model
do u plan to replace the spark plugs? i'm at 130k with original plugs
Yep - ruclips.net/video/E0A9wFylQ3o/видео.html
When your life is depend on a piece of stick, use a 8ft ladder.
Sometimes my videos are for what not to do. :-)

I agree! As long as it lasts another 12 years I'm happy!

Good Video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Very unsafe way to try and support the 150 lb door!! A very serious accident can happen
Which way are you referring to? I showed the best way in the video
Este sr. Si que es un inutil
Gracias
