Apologies the Rusgo tds does in fact say to wear skin protection . …. Didn’t get that far down 😂
Thank you
ooh boy , having owned several "Italian Quality" cars , hope the spray gun is better built :)
Haha , no , I can vouch for the slim xlight & combat , they're awesome guns 👍
keeping the original body line through rear quarter panel into rear door is rare to see , usually bogged out, as is the front guard and door .. not easy to get straight .. all the best in the build!
The panels don’t have the shape in the steel. Which means making the shape in filler my only option .it’s funny how a sand and paint ends up being a lot more . Cheers for watching mate
Great stuff Mark - I'll be starting the body work on my HZ one tonner hopefully soon, and this is a helpful guide. I wasn't sure which products to use for bare metal but I like the sound of the Resto Finish you're using. One question though: after you washed off the Rust Go, what was the cleaner or solvent you used before the epoxy?
I used the polyprimer solvent after Rusgo then the metal cleaner after that and right before I sprayed epoxy . It’s a very similar process to the CAM de ox it which I’ve made other videos on . I’ll link that video for you

Thanks heaps!!!
My wife caught me baking brake callipers in the oven once 😇
haha cant say ever done that before
Ive got pontiac panels, small tiny pitted rust here and there after bead blast, ive 80 grit the whole panel but its impossible to get it 1000% off... Could i reatofinish just epoxy to seal it?? Also, when i done this rusgo step, all the 80 grit scratches dissapeared... Like it had a silky film... I dont trust this for adhession.
Am i just stressing? Any info will be much appreviated
Thanks
Hi mate sorry for late reply . What were you using to remove the rust, just 80grit ? You can also use red scotchbrite and get it deep in pits etc . As for the Rusgo leaving a film , did you let it dry? It needs to stay wet then you wipe off with water and dry cloths . No films should be left on the surface if done correctly. Wiping the panel afterwards with the steel cleaner would have removed said film . Hope that helped mate . Let me know how you go?
Thanks for the tutorial. Where did you get that light panel on the stand and what brand etc is it please? Looks very handy.
Hi mate thanks for watching . Here’s a link to the lights amzn.to/3EgD5tN it’s actually a 2 pack and they can run on batteries “not that I do” . I love them
@@BogDustForBreakfast tasks for taking time to answer
@@poydapoyderson646 any time mate . The lights I bought must be an older model to the one I linked but basically the same
Best not to use any cotton / tea towel type cloths before painting.
Kimberley Clarke - Wypall L40 cloths are way better and designed for this use. Also can be used instead of tack cloths prior to finish painting. ( tack cloths contain wax which contaminate the surface.)
apart from the dye releasing from cotton rags what are you refering to ? i normally test the rags before soaking in a solvent to illiminate dye contaminating the job . or better yet choose white rags . have been using rags for home use for 20+ years and not one issue . at work i use KCA "kimberly clarke" cloths . a little pricey for home use
Yeah!Good but enoigh talking!Loooooool!!!!!!!!!!!
Literally says guide .
