How To Sand Primer (Guide) Green Candy Over Blue Metallic
Looks beautiful,BUT does the chrome look any different to a Silver base. Comments plse
@@llewvirtue861 yes it’s like a candy over a mirror . Silver base it will sparkle a little . Over chrome it’s more vibrant and reflective
Long video s are get it help us alot teacher
Good it helps
Epoxy has no etching properties, mechanical surface profile is epoxies requirement. Data sheets tell you this no question about it.
@@bena6852it really depends on the epoxy if I was honest . Some tds for epoxy says to etch then epoxy . Some don’t
Yep guy been doing it for over 12 years
I’ve got the same car but my one is a original GT great job bro
@@georgemax1661 wow that’s awesome . Thanks for your feedback
Por que los mexicanos revelan sus secretos de todo ?
Maybe ask a Mexican
Why always a fender?
@@troybrake5686 why cause sanding down a whole car every time I want to show a color is pointless
Wow looks sick
Cheers mate
What clear did you use?
dna diamond clear on first run , then custom clear for flow coat
0 Paint Aussie color please? ❤
Cool video! Thanks from Greece!
Thanks for watching!
Dude, that music is f××king stupid.
Puoi girare il link di acquisto del Mutant crystalz ….
Yes dna-paints.com
Bello… i colori che hai usato x dare l’effetto rosso/ blu sono diluiti col trasparente?
Although you can mix candy with clear coat . On this project they were mixed with a intercoat “ transparent basecoat “ . It would have been impossible to paint this project with 2 colors using candy in clear coat
Bello
Dosent the topcoat keep the moister out ?
Hi mate . Top coat does . Rust starts within 4 hours . So epoxy needs to be applied within that time to prevent it .
Whats the blue called
I said the name @0:55 cobalt blue candy basecoat
Thanks, very informative.
I did a search for 2 inch circle stickers and thermal printing stickers came up. Is that what those are?
Not sure about thermal stickers but these were just what dna paints uses on top of the clear kit containers
Any thoughts on the best primer for chrome?
That double pin stripe tape came out awesome. Great job
Cheers mate!
Wow! 🔥💪🏾 this came out really nice!
What type of paint is that? The one that cracked?🤔
It’s called mutant crystalz . Its technically not paint but a solution which crystallises when it dries
@BogDustForBreakfast oh wow! Thanks for the reply. I subscribed, and I'll be watching more of your videos to learn more about this technique. I'd like to try this out in the near future.
@@IEatMedia I’ll have to make another video using it soon
@BogDustForBreakfast ok, I'll be on the look out for it.
I keep trying with this urea I have but can't get crystal web that big I know temp changes it but I tried quite a few times even tried that poke method to start them
Can’t say I’ve ever used the poke method . With a correctly formulated product like @dnapaints Mutant CrystalZ it takes the guess work out of the equation
OH NO A DENT!😂
Awesome job what was the pearl?
Acid rain
Nice job. If you wanted to do it yourself you can just buy the correct rear garnish colour in a can...The GTS badges are originally solid pillar box red colour.
Thanks for watching . It was done in a candy because the garnish needed to match the red brake light lenses . You wouldn’t achieve that with a solid red color
@@BogDustForBreakfast yes the rear light lens are correct to match the boot strip but the badges were solid red. Great job on the garnish strip and lens surrounds.
@@user-rn4uw6zw4f I just done what the customer wanted mate
I want to do this on a few guitars 3:)
Was looking for a different look for my roof n trunk ..think this with a splash of color will do it!
🎉🎉🎉
Mate you can get a vice brake from machinery warehouse that does an amazing job of bending angles of all sorts. Also on the welder you should be using .6 wire and .6 tips. Much more suited to the job / thin sheet metal. Also shine a led light behind the butt weld to find pin holes post weld and or grinding. Final comment is you should aim to use 1.2mm / 18 gauge sheet metal. It helps with welding and also when you linish it down you end up 1mm vs using 1mm sheet and 0.8mm after grinding which is thinner than what you started with originally. Keep up the good work.
Cheers for the info mate . If I was to do fab stuff more often I probably would get a vice brake .i prefer to just do body and paint jobs . Haven’t done rust repairs on a car in almost 4 years lol
Looks dope do some Smoke shading next time between at the tape lines would love to see how that looks
Looking forward to more updates. Cheers mate.
Very awesome sir bog dust
U can use the vice that has shape on it
Many many thanks
That is cool
Another great episode mate, really enjoying the new series. Regards John
Cheers for watching mate
Ive got pontiac panels, small tiny pitted rust here and there after bead blast, ive 80 grit the whole panel but its impossible to get it 1000% off... Could i reatofinish just epoxy to seal it?? Also, when i done this rusgo step, all the 80 grit scratches dissapeared... Like it had a silky film... I dont trust this for adhession. Am i just stressing? Any info will be much appreviated Thanks
Hi mate sorry for late reply . What were you using to remove the rust, just 80grit ? You can also use red scotchbrite and get it deep in pits etc . As for the Rusgo leaving a film , did you let it dry? It needs to stay wet then you wipe off with water and dry cloths . No films should be left on the surface if done correctly. Wiping the panel afterwards with the steel cleaner would have removed said film . Hope that helped mate . Let me know how you go?
WOAH WTF...BADASS
Thankyou
I love how the cars are bought back to original. I would allow modern radio and extra speakers but thats it. XB nice.
pretty sure the owner had his old radio modified and can connect his phone via bluetooth
🔥🔥🔥🔥. When you do the scotch brite, is black paint completely dried? Thanks.
Yes definitely needs to be dry
@@BogDustForBreakfast thanks. This is such a cool technique. I have heard you can get the effect with DEF fluid

Great to hear you again. And I would agree re keeping work separate. Just do your day job do vids on your home stuff. Cheers Stan.
Cheers Stan 👍
I wondered where you'd been. Question, how does deleting the heater affect the rego if the car was required to have one back in the day, which the HQ was?
That’s a good question. This car is still currently on club rego so unless it’s pulled over I’d say it’s fine . I don’t actually know the laws and regulations on the topic
@@BogDustForBreakfast What I do know is that all vehicles sold new from 1971 had to have seatbelts for every passenger and heater/demisters were to be fitted to all vehicles as per the ADR at the time. I guess it's up to the examiner these days. I've driven cars without demisters before, it ain't fun, but part of the journey back in the day, the good old days.
@@johnhutchinson9714 I think your onto something there
Done a few HQ Utes and sedans quarter are easy but rare spares never fit sometimes it’s quicker to make your own panels as they fit as for the plenum chamber I’ve replaced top and bottom panels always and trial fit front end back on for gaps before fully welding the new panels on as they not perfect or the same as factory spec gaps are everything and definitely worth trial fitting the front end panels back on before welding
Cheers man plan is to test fit before welding . That’s normally what I do . Can’t be that hard 😂

Good to see you back on RUclips legend. Great video and work as usual!
Much appreciated! Cheers for watching
Good to see you back. Just to pick your brain for a moment. What colour primer should I use for Red Pepper. At the moment it is a mid gray but I thought it may make the red too dark. Would white be better. Or will it make much difference at allI loved your work on the coupe so this will be just as interesting. Cheers
Cheers mate . Best thing to do is do some spray outs of different ground coats . Then spray your color out .
Nice I'm 22sec into the video onya bog dust I've been looking forward to your art of metal work thanks for the video mate
Hope you enjoyed it!
