  • Continuing with the 'how to' of starter fitment to a Yamaha 25hp outboard motor.
    Fabricated brackets fitted, fitted the starter solenoid, choke solenoid and battery cables made up. Next step is wiring it all up to a starter keyswitch.

    You're doing a grand job...not easy to fit it all in with very little room. It will make starting the motor so much easier. 👍👍

      Thanks. It is a tight fit in there but it's all in and the final video is now up.
      I could have made it easier by using 6mm battery cable instead of 8mm. It would have been perfectly adequate.

    I loved your way to show us the installation, but two questions. The battery negative cable is on the starter motor negative edge? You didnt do any thing with the regulator just put another place?

      Correct. The starter is a direct bolt on to the engine so carries the ground throughout. The regulator was moved and it's ground tag put under a suitable bolt head.
