    Great job! You make all Filipinos proud of their Chicken Adobo. I know you like the "SABAW" but I have tip for you....if you grab 5-7 tablespoons of the SABAW and add a tablespoon of cornstarch and boil it down some more...you will have this nice thick gravy sauce and a little bit or caramelization of the sugar that will be so good with rice ( I prefer Basmati). Try it and let me know!

      Never tried Basmati rice with chicken Adobo. Defintely going to try that. Thank you the suggestion.

    Did this tonight. Had to use chicken breasts. Next time I need to use chicken thighs. Also, I doubled the recipe because there is 8 of us and made 8 lbs. it turned out to be more like soup. I think I would do 1.5 times the sauce instead of double or maybe not double the sauce at all. Gotta tweak it for next time. Even though the sauce was runnier it was amazing.

    Great job! Have you tried this with pork, or just pork? It's heavenly. I love how you seem to really enjoy the dish enough to make a video. Adobo is pretty much the national dish. I've done trial and error of the best adobo recipe for me, and I say for me because everyone has their own version that they love. I use one portion of vinegar, one portion of water and half a portion of soy sauce for the liquids. LOTS of garlic! Bay leaves and whole peppercorns with some ground too. I add some sugar depending on what I feel like that day and thicken the sauce with cornstarch. I will try it next time with coconut aminos because I've had trouble with soy sauce lately due to gluten issues.

      FYI Tamari Soya Sauce is gluten free and so am I. Use it all the time. I also use coco aminos which is a bit sweeter tasting then Tamari. Tamari tastes just like the wheat version of regular soya sauce ☺️

      Funny you mention that, when picking up my chicken I was talking to another lady on the Adobo recipe. She mentioned potatoes. I never had it with other than rice, so I thought she was pulling my leg. But I have boiled eggs added to it. So I stand corrected.

    you know what, you may have done the right thing not putting the garlic in the marinade. i marinate my adobo overnight minus the garlic. i notice that garlic loses much of its flavor over time. putting the garlic during cooking time makes the garlic flavor more potent and delicious.

  • @Shoop...
    @Shoop... 5 лет назад +2

    Yeah, This looks great. One part vinegar and one part soy is definitely too salty for my personal taste but my pinay partner told me the same thing, add sugar to reduce the saltiness. She went further, (after I messed up a couple batches of adobo), by suggesting that I use only half the soy sauce that I think I need then taste test it when it's cooked and slowly add more. She might be wiser than I am.
    I like to add a little ground Annatto seed to the sauce to give it that drool inducing sunset orange hue like Chicken Inasal. Presentation can really fire off those taste buds before you even taste it.
    And, I really want to yell at you...what's your problem with that?

    • @pinoywhiteboy8021
      @pinoywhiteboy8021  5 лет назад

      Pinoy White Boy Hey bro, tried it today. Went to a local Pinoy store where I live and got the vinegar and soy sauce. I don’t know why but it came out way too vinegary on that 1/1 ratio. I tried adding some water to balance it out but I think because of the marinade, it was already in the chicken. Still ate it though. 😂😂😂. Will try your pork adobo on Thursday and reduce the vinegar and see how I get on. Live and learn I guess! Thanks again bro, hope all is well! 🤙🏻

    You're awesome! The Adobe recipe is spot on! Only a couple things... I was taught to use less soy sauce to the final cooking vessel, and add water to redce the saltiness. There is a difference between white and brown sugar when adding, so you can mention that. Also the marinate is typically longer, an hour or 4.
    Also do you know how to measure and cook rice Filipino style? You shold show that.. of just make a video on that. I got that down, and actually cannot measure rice manually.

    1 c soy sauce is way too much. I usually use 1/3 c soy sauce to your vinegar ratio.

      Ahh, it's always fun to see how everyone's recipes differ. I usually use more, because we like alot of sauce for our rice. Thanks for watching!

    You should speak a little louder on your microphone... Your voice is too either too low or too soft for a big guy like you...
