    Love the recipe and am trying this. Sick of overspending at Starbucks. An important component is that ice though. What the restaurants have over us is that clear ice with their machines and it does affect the taste. Need to either make clear ice or get a machine at home.

      I got you! my bf wanted that clear ice so I got one of those pitchers with the brita filter in the lid. I put that in ice trays.. I used to have a little mini machine from amazon for about 130 but they break down a lot and I could only repair it myself the first few times. You could put filtered water in those as well.. Also you can technically unhook the water in your fridge and fill the reservoir but I'm not confident.

      Brew a normal pot of coffee and freeze it. Brew coffee the normal way over the resulting coffee ice. Much more consistent end product.

      I use this same method for iced coffee but using the ratios in this video. (Subbing half the water for ice, of course.)

    How does the coffee decanter not shatter from the ice inside and the hot burner underneath?

    • @therobmcgee
      @therobmcgee  Год назад +5

      The decanter really isn’t on the burner long enough to be heated up to a point that it matters.

    Ninja is way better they adjust the amount you put in the water comes out hot but not hot enough to melt all you're ice you have a specality button which you ise espresso ground coffee or dark roast and it brews 4oz water for latest cap machiatos including iced 2c ice 4tbl coffee 4oz coffee

      If you do 230 grams of ice, 28 grams of ground coffee, and 230 grams of water, then it comes out perfect. and you can double or triple that ratio depending on the size of your coffee maker and how much you want to make

    • @AceP219

    Doesn’t that water down the coffee??

    • @accountforwastingtime
      @accountforwastingtime 7 месяцев назад +2

      That's why you want to use less water than you normally would. You use less actual water and then add some ice. Personally I didn't add as much ice. The smaller ice cubes work better for iced coffee imo if you have that kind from your freezer.

    • @AdamFloro
      @AdamFloro 3 месяца назад

      @@tw629108 this was one year ago, I don’t remember precisely what I was doing. However, the roast level will affect volumetric measurements, whereas if you measure in grams, you’re consistently across multiple roasts. It’s also possible my grind was off, if I used whole beans for this particular brew, which I don’t remember. Also, possibly, I may have brewed at the wrong temperature.
