The calliper does reset itself once the pedal is pushed. So once you finish the job and prepare to test drive, start the vehicle and press the brake pedal down a few times before you put it in gear. This pumping action will set the caliper.
Pair of slip joints for rear calipers works well and puts the 50 bucks buck in your pocket.
