    I changed my plugs and wires without this video. This video leaves out allot of information! At least you didn't have music playing instead of talking, those DIY videos with music suck! LOL.

      I got to do this job on a 3900 Uplander - I moved engine forward, but access is still bad.
      I was thinking of removing upper intake manifold to improve access, but I can't get access to the intake's rear bolt (near alternator)...
      Please provide any guidance, as I'm hitting a bit of a roadblock!

    I have a 2003 Chevy Venture, changed the plugs at 90,000 miles. Took about less than hour for the front 3, around 3-5 hours for the back 3. And about a month ago with 158,000 miles I changed them again, spark plug wires metal connector broke off on all 3 back plugs. i think this will be the last time. LOL

    I have an EGR P0401 and need to take it off/ clean it out. But it's buried in there. Anybody used the same tilting strategy to better get to the EGR? Also, do the EGRs use the high-tension (or is it tensile?) bolts that tend to break off when you try to reinstall them and, if so, any advice on where to pick up replacements before I try to take off the EGR?

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  8 лет назад +1

      +Joe the EGR is a little tight but you should be able to get it with a combination wrench. I don't remember breaking a mounting bolt off on one either. Good luck!

    • @jusard1
      @jusard1 6 лет назад

      would you happen to have any videos for changing the EGR valve. I have the same code and retrieved the part but waiting to see if it is safe to remove the hoses that are in the way. I have been looking for a video.

    i didnt understand the part about the hoist and accessing from underneath. what are you hoisting. I have a 2007 Malibu v6. Is it simialr to this video? thx

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  8 лет назад +1

      I was referring to a vehicle hoist and lifting the car in the air to access the rear plugs from the bottom. It's easier from top

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  8 лет назад

      No, I think the plugs are pretty easy to access on your vehicle.

    Why AC Delco? As long as you have the iridum or whatever plugs, why does it matter brand, other than paying more money?

    • @donaldjarvis4237

      i use AC Delco, Cost me about $5.50 a piece at Rock----. com. Got A $3.00 rebate on 6 of them.

      @@pingpong9656 It's still running on the factory plugs if you can believe it. I have a nice clean replacement engine with 90,000 km sitting on a pallet in my yard. I'm waiting for the original engine to pack it in. Hope I'm waiting awhile. Changing the plugs is a bitch for sure.:)

    👍 Tim I wonder how many retakes you do for a vid ? Looks like your having a ball making vids and ready to break out laughing at any moment . Did you decide on a new snap on scanner , if so which model ?

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  9 лет назад

      Steve Rob No, still limping along with the old Verus. I just had to replace the K20 key because it wore out I guess. Don't know if ill update it any more. I do some retakes and sometimes forget to edit out several takes of the same sentence. I should watch my own videos more often before I post them.

    HI DOC IF I CAN ADD MY 2 CENTS WORTH, I,M A LITTLE HEAVIER THAN YOU AND I HAVE AN 05 UPLANDER, I RAISED IT ON MY HOIST AND JUST REMOVED THE THREE NUTS SECURING THE EXHAUST AND JUST PUSHED THE EXHAUST OVER SLIGHTLY ENOUGH TO GET MY HANDS BACK THERE. I LOST ONLY A PINT OF BLOOD AND THOSE EXHAUST STUDS ARE A LOT STURDIER THAN THOSE TINY TWIGS THEY USED BACK IN THE DAY

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  7 лет назад

      Wow, only lost a unit of blood. Awesome job! I appreciate your feedback. I'll give that a try if I get one of these back in for tune up work. You take care!

      IF YOU TAKE THE FRONT MOUNTS LOOSE AND JACK THE TOP OF THE ENGINE BACK TOWARDS THE VAN YOU CAN GET TO THE PLUGS BETTER. IVE TRYED PULLING THE ENGINE FOWARD BUT JACKING IT BACK TOWARDS THE VAN GIVES YOU BETTER ACCESS TO THE REAR PLUGS.
