@@stfu2334 Tips depends at which stage you’re at in the process! Generally knowing your case, the what, how, where, who, what happened next, what did you say etc. small questions but very crucial. Dates are important.

In Belarus for example people don't have American embassy, so if he goes to Kazakhstan for example to ask for a visa, and did the same you said, lied about arrests or anything else to get his visa, will his asylum application be rejected because he was in 3rd country and had to ask for help there( In Kazakhstan)? Even if all of these countries cooperate and most likely would send him back to Belarus if authorities will ask send him back?

I submitted my written appeal which stated as a member of a political organization and no physical harm but only a warning from authorities issued to me that was what I also told them during my interview. In fact, I was physically harmed several times, it was just I was afraid to tell the truth because authorities threatened me before they let me go right after receiving bribe from my family. And now I got hearing what must I do?

Are asylum interviews in different countries similar to how it's done in the US? I'm an American citizen wanting to apply somewhere overseas, getting a heads up on the process and prevent myself from making crucial mistakes would be a big plus.

your chances of your asylum case being accepted is 0. You can be Malcolm X himself, freshly assasinated with bullet holes and everything to prove it, and your chances would still be ZERO as an American. Don't believe me? Try it! Just don't get mad when they laugh at you. People who claim asylum have suffered some real shit! Not just a rude remark here and there

Yes, if a lawyer helped you prepare your application, you should say so. The asylum officer is asking that question to make sure that you know what the contents of your application are.
Do we have to produce any proof of the incident took place
Evidence is very helpful to have in everything related to asylum. Applicants can also submit testimonies about certain events that can help fill in gaps in information.

All decisions are being sent by mail right now due to COVID-19. USCIS has not announced if they plan to return to in-person decisions in the future.
