- Thousands of people enter Canada each month and make a refugee claim. Many claimants do not know the complexities and the preparations involved in a refugee hearing which will often take place months or years after the initial claim. Canadian refugee law is a very specific area of immigration law and unless your claim meets the requirements of the law, the claim will be refused.

@@keyorkimmigrationlaw i have a question. with regards to the refugee hearing , is the minister allowed to request information on the refugee claimant from the country he/she is seeking protection from? i know someone who's case was supposed to be this Friday but has been postponed because the minister is apparently asking the country for information on the claimant just to verify.
@@wewantpascal Yes the Minister has full discretion to has for any information which may assist the department to argue against the claim

The current system is unsustainable and requires a complete overhaul. Canadian taxpayers should not be funding the livelihoods of non-citizens. We must prioritize the needs of our own citizens and cease providing subsidies to those who are not legally entitled to them. The excessive costs associated with legal and consultancy services are a major contributing factor to this problem.

what happens in cases where the country itself has nationwide discriminatory laws, such as imprisonment for any LGBTQ person, but the refugee claimant themselves have never personally felt a threat due to being extremely discreet about their sexuality and orientation?

Hello Masum Gazi. Yes. There are some mandatory documents and forms that you will be required to submit with your claim, which will be reviewed in totality. We also recommend being forth coming with the information as a gesture of good will.

Foreign nationals can make refugee claims at any port of entry upon being allowed in by CBSA, or they can choose to do it at an IRCC office in Canada.
If you are gay and your country doesn't have any rules and regulations to support this and provide protection but instead if you tell the authorities then you will be hanged, can one get the Asylum in Canada, how long the process is generally and where will one stay if they only have enough money to get to Canada and nothing for Stay or food?

You can claim refuge if there is danger to your life which may include, torture, risk to life, or risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment. Claimants must make a claim in Canada. The process can take up to a year or more, and there are some government programs like the Resettlement Assistance Program to help, and often provide services during the first four to six weeks after arriving in Canada.

Its difficult to qualify for a refugee claim if you are from the United States as there are enough ressources and governement protection but you would explore economic immigration pathways depending on your skills, work experience, education and language skills.
