What a pleasure to watch a person buried in their craft. Very well done with this format and Sofia is a wonderful addition to your team. Major props to your video production team, world class production there Ben 👍✌😎
I used the MTASG trick for the first time this weekend building a 6 string cigar box guitar!!! Was using a piece of scrap white oak for the neck which had a taper in it already. The trick was the only way I was able to cut a super tight scarf joint properly in plane. Thanks for all you do, Crimson team! You're an inspiration to all of us the world over!
Very nicely produced… it’s different just watching someone lost in their craft, without trying to explain every step along the way. Although I have yet to attempt to build a guitar myself, I have watched these videos for the past few years and just through repeated viewings I am aware enough of what each step involves, so just being able to watch with music in the background was quite relaxing as well. Thanks for posting and keep ‘em coming!
Stoked to see more content featuring Sofia!! She's got a calm demeanor, and a relaxed precision in the way she works. Her repairs and builds are always a pleasure to watch.
one thing i can advise (you are a much better luthier than me! I've doing repairs and such for 25 years) 10:45 fold the end of the tape at the corner for faster removal. Saves me tons of time!
Wait - WHAT?😳 How on Earth can Sofia not have known the MTASG? Sofia has been part of the Crimson family for months and months now. Was invited to join because of some already impressive skills and has demonstrated them over and over here. Mind is utterly blown.🤯 I would have thought that part of being allowed through the doors at Crimson would be a demonstration of MTASG. 🤣 Otherwise, the thinline looks amazing already and I love the attention that Sofia brings to every aspect of the guitars that are being worked on.
A very relaxing and therapeutic video. A pleasure to watch. And a GREAT example, to the uninitiated, of the quality of the work at Crimson Guitars. I'm looking forward to part two.
Love my swanp Ash custom built left handed tele that was built for me in 2001 it is a 60s design tele and I absolutely love it! Slab Ash body and slab maple neck ( desperate for a re fret and it will have stainless steel frets very soon ) its beautifully balanced sounding telecaster but it dosnt have the same punch as a alder telecaster tho it's just very well rounded and I love it! As heavy as my 90s les paul tho at over 5kg!
This was great, thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next instalment. Only 13 mins though???Would liked to have seen much more. This was like highlights.
Looking good! Semi-hollowbody Tele style is on my project list so loving seeing one here. Ash top, but curious what the main body is. Thanks for sharing!
This is strangely very similar to a design I was thinking about using for GGBO but just different woods and a little carving on top. This is giving me some ideas about how to address some assembly details.
I don’t want to be a kill joy, but I feel compelled to say lose clothing, jewelry, and especially dangling cords around the neck are extremely dangerous when using power tools and equipment.
So nice watching Sophie work. She is always so intentional and precise. Most people go through the motions and get decent results specially if they have been doing something for a long time and get decent results but that reach for perfection in every task is not there any more. Not for Sophie. Reasons like that are why I enjoy watching Gio @Tornelli Guitars and Todd @Sweet T Guitars. All three send me back in time watching my Grand Father working in his shop when I was learning from him. The only difference is they do not shake the building when they whack their head on floor joists or heat vent in the basement being to engrossed in their craft. I do have a question though. Seems to me it would have been more beneficial to drill the cavity wire holes before the top went on. That way specifically in the control cavity you are not drilling over a top risking damage. Thought process?
What is the advantage of using masking tape and super glue over say using a good quality double sided tape? Is it that the masking tape comes of the work more cleanly?
@@BAGHEAD1995 Makes sense. It makes more sense to sit back, watch the art happen, and take notes for your own builds. I've learned a lot from this group.
I think thats the whole point of Sofia's building on the channel. Its a counter to Ben. Creative, wild, Ben explains everything and cant stop talking. Sofia, quiet, methodical, detailed.
RUclips ''handles'' ? A request to artists, content-creators & 'users'. Although you probably don't care about my comments, I encourage ALL to CEASE uploading & commenting (except re-posting this) UNTIL RUclips restores "channel name" to comments on videos. The level of confusion with arbitrarily assigned "handles" that are not 'coherent/compatible' across platforms is a new level of authoritative-dominion causing confusion among content-creators & 'users' of various platforms. Big-Tech never considers the consequences of their arbitrary actions. Demand to be heard! I will gladly endure a period of NO NEW CONTENT & NO COMMENTS to make the point. Restore "channel name" to all comments. Channel 'owners' retain ability to choose to change their "channel name" to include "@" and other alterations voluntarily. I would not put this on a channel if I didn't value the channel's content & my ability to comment. The alternative to taking-a-stand is to passively submit to Big-Tech's arbitrary dominion over even YOUR OWN WAY of identifying yourself on internet. Don't reply. Re-post this !
I know this is going to annoy you but stay with me, I'm trying to help. RUclips does not give a stuff about you or me. They do not give a stuff about comments either. They can tell, we are still watching the video;s and the ads, so, they dont care about your protest ..... at all. RUclips care about 1 thing. ADVERTISING REVENUE. If you want to protest then the protest must decrease RUclipss advertising revenue. If it does not then they dont care. How to do that, I dont know. Appealing to advertisers to cease advertising probably wont work. Adblocking software is the only angle I can think of. A protest movement that provides updated free ad blocking software and agrees to stop updating the software when demands are met. Good luck

Great to see Sofia let loose on a full build.

I agree with everyone. What a pleasure to watch. Sofia...you and you passion for what you do are just adorable. Kep it up. Ben...giver her more money.
It's great to see someone immersed in the craft.
Every detail paid attention to.
People should take very seriously what it is they want to do.
Very nicely produced… it’s different just watching someone lost in their craft, without trying to explain every step along the way. Sofia is obviously very diligent and talented. Keep her on at all costs. Great video thanks.
Sofia is great
Dear Ben. Don’t let Sofia leave Ever. You this Lady Touch at Crimson Guitar. Love your Touch Sofia 🎸👍🏻
Sophia is very talented and a joy to watch her craftsmanship in action. I can't wait for part 2 of this build!
I love watching Sofia work. Her work is inspiring.
I love your methodical process, such a refreshing change from Ben's haphazard 'Do stuff then think about it later' approach! 😂👌
I’m a guitar tech. I use the masking tape and super trick that I learned from you almost daily.
Stoked to see more content featuring Sofia!! She's got a calm demeanor, and a relaxed precision in the way she works. Her repairs and builds are always a pleasure to watch.
I love you're helper. Left handed people people rule.😊
Looking forward to part two. Nice calm drama free vid.

If I had a guitar that needed repairing/restoring, I would definitely ask for Sophia 👍
Fantastic work. Totally appreciate Sophia’s attention to detail. Looking forward to part 2!.

Well that was amazing! Ever thought of a GGBO staff version? What a competition THAT would be!
what a great builder. She is fantastic work
Really looking forward to part 2. Love that binding.
Beautiful Job
Again fantastic video editing. oh and Sofia rocks!
Great work, looking forward to Ep2.
Keith.

When I do my bindings I like to tape from top to bottom, I find it holds the binding tighter in the channel
Tele. Done right the first time! Thank you Leo. (please disregard the Esquire and no truss rod)
Really enjoyed this video, well done - Sophia is doing an excellent job on a classic guitar! - Cheers from Canada

Hell yeah! That is going to be a beauty when finished! Proper job is that :) nicely done me duck
So satisfying to watch! Some beautiful wood too! Makes the heart sing! 🥰🥰🍷🍷🎸🎸

Sofia 💐🥇🏆
LOVE IT! Looking forward to Episode 2!
Sofia,, you're pretty amazing! Love seeing your work on here!
I don’t want to be a kill joy, but I feel compelled to say lose clothing, jewelry, and especially dangling cords around the neck are extremely dangerous when using power tools and equipment.
I was literally thinking the same thing lol
Those strings had me stressed out during the entire video
The Master and the apprentice, love it! Just don't get the head tatts Sofia hahaha 🙃
Absolutely brilliant!
Was actually just wondering if Sophia still worked at crimson,Haven’t saw her in any content in a while👍👍

Sofia is ace.
Curious about why wiring channels were not cut before applying the top...saves a step later and the risk of drilling with a long bit. Nice build!
That should read putting a drop top and T style kit!
Great video chaps.....
Well done
Normally, I"m not a fan of the tele visually (Love the sound though), but i gotta say a dark bound tele does look nice.
Ben finally gets to show someone the supa-glue and masking tape trick lmao
Fantastic!
Is that CA glue used on the binding? Presumably that's a viable option?
What is the advantage of using masking tape and super glue over say using a good quality double sided tape? Is it that the masking tape comes of the work more cleanly?
I can't believe she hadn't seen the masking tape and super glue trick before. Has she never watched a video of yours?
I was kinda surprised as well, given how long Sophia has been at Crimson.
I think Ben had just learnt a new trick to demonstrate the RAW POWER of masking tape and glue, so wanted to put it in a video somewhere :)
How can anyone dislike this kind of content? There's literally nothing offensive, or degrading involved in any of CCG's videos.
I don't understand...
Jealousy!. The only reason.
@@BAGHEAD1995 Makes sense. It makes more sense to sit back, watch the art happen, and take notes for your own builds.
I've learned a lot from this group.
I am a firm believer, that the area behind the bridge should be kept solid and never get routed out. Anything else, kudos!
Bravo!!!
what is that router-bit that was used for the binding-channel?
*Throws masking tape, superglue and accelerator on the bench.*
"Congrats kid, you're a luthier now." ;)
I thought it was a job requirement at crimson to know about masking tape and super glue?
It looks unusually thick.
How much is a custom built tele like this? Thanks
Hi, thank you for your interest in our custom shop. Please email customshop@crimsonguitars.com and we will get back to you with a quote.
Is Sofia a lefty?
i was sticking my tongue out with you there great job ....
💗💘
Why did it take so long to show Sofia the masking tape trick? lol
I didn’t like that scalpel job on the f hole! I wouldn’t have the control to do that
I assume that's on the underside of the f hole to make it appear thinner.
Sofia is great but she needs to tell us what she is doing!
I think thats the whole point of Sofia's building on the channel. Its a counter to Ben. Creative, wild, Ben explains everything and cant stop talking. Sofia, quiet, methodical, detailed.
