Louise, I am so pleased to see you add to your artistry, by the little end touching you did, here and there, to this beautiful tray!! As always your color choices are so right on, vivid where needed and subtle where your eye is drawn to the edges, that just fade into softness. I think you made this more beautiful than it was, and truly made it "yours" and of course one of a kind 😊 Waiting for your next video, just to see what you can come up with...you always surprise 🤗☺❤
@@JudeKluegel 😘thank you Jude, you know color choices are one of my “things” and I definitely give credit to where I used to work as quality manager, dealing with color variation all the time. Thank you so much for being here and your insightful comments. Once again I appreciate your support.😘😘🧡

I just love your art. I am new to your video's. I used to watch Paint Pouring by Kathleen Miller but for some reason she has not been on RUclips for the last 7 months. I am unsure why she is no longer doing her art, at least on YT. I am so glad to find your channel. I find this totally fasinating to watch. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much 😘Cory and I used to watch Karen when I first started, I know she had moved and was travelling… I found fluid art just over 3 yrs ago, I’ve lived it all!! Thanks for being here! Hope you get what you need here!!🧡
Beautiful work my dear friend❤
Thank you so much Dawn🧡
I love this Louise! Beautuful tray and so well executed! You do such great work hun❤ 👏 🙌 🤗
Thank you so much Taz🧡I really appreciate that!
Thanks! That makes sense. Can’t wait to try it. Im really excited to be making larger things to sell. I’ve sold a ton of coasters and hex trivets.
@@maureenlaxpati2809 good for you🧡, there are so many functional art creations you can master for sale!
Just lovely! I would of liked to see more of your pushing pillow to the sides. It's the one thing I don't feel like I have a handle on. I end up getting it uneven and I hugely dislike that. Lol!!!!!😂
Thank you Oh, well I took it out because it’s kind of boring to watch and it took about seven minutes or so to fully get it up to the edges evenly and cleanly. You just have to take your time go very slowly and lead the paint with the edge of that spatula evenly across each edge.
@@LouiseMcKayArt Theres one in every bunch Louise. Lol!! You make it sounds so easy.
@@ohcheap1 you’re too cute. Just go slow and a toothpick can be your friend running along the edges😉😉😉😉
This is beautiful Louise. I have a shallow tray that’s been calling my name…lol. Gaging the amount of pillow is the trick…for ME anyway….lol.
@@ShelliAndersonArt thank you Shelli, honestly that IS the trick and I go by eyeball, so I can’t help in terms of measurements because it depends on the size. It depends on the design you want to make. It depends on your blow dryer and your paints. I know how my paints flow and how everything works together you just have to find what works for you, unfortunately…
@@LouiseMcKayArt As always ...lol. Yes, there is so much to consider.... I think you have it down 😘
😍😍😍
Thank you so much Jerelyn🧡
New to this type of art and had wondered just last week if it was possible to do something that was boxed in. Thanks for the answer and the result was so lovely!
Hi Me, check out my tray playlist if you want to see more: ruclips.net/p/PLD3gEym1bn-PY7irIlY1RxJYhgKO4rN4_&si=AI329PYjqFfBLQTw
I love that you do a combination of techniques. I just bought a couple of trays to try this (its so easy to try anything you do bcz of your excellent tutorials). Im a little worried about the paint ending up too thick and cracking. It looks like you're putting a fairly thin pillow and not stretching much. Looks like the main spreading force is the blow dryer. Do you ever get cracking due to thick paint? thanks
@@maureenlaxpati2809 hi Maureen, I’ve never had a crack, but then again I’ve already taken out any extra if I find I have too much by scooping it out, literally with a pallet knife and trying not to mess up the composition. I would suggest to start with you lay some down and then tilt to stretch it as close as you can to the edges before you blow out then you know you’re pretty close to start with. That’s my tip of the day. Tips are free, free and welcome.
As always you are indeed an inspiration Louise! This is just beeeutiful and tune matching coasters too!
So when you resined this tray, I guess it just poured and leveled itself with bit too much work?
Thank you, Jennifer, most importantly when I’m drying from painting or getting ready to resin is ensuring that it is perfectly level. Honestly, resining a tray is about the easiest thing to do because all you have to do is pour the resin in get it neatly up against the sides and you’re done, actually you have to torch it a little bit, but you’re done.
If you accidentally put too much pillow and the paint cracks when drying will it all peal out so you can retry it? This is beautiful and I love the composition on it!
@@AugustsAcrylicArt 😘thanks and hi August, honestly, I don’t know. It’s never happened to me, if I suspect I have too much paint down I will pull some of it out before I get to the point of disaster.
All it needs now is a coffee cake, cups of coffee , with a server of real cream, and cane sugar.
Boy now you’re talking my language nothing like natural stuff, brown sugar, please. And honestly, I don’t think I could put anything on top of this, that’s why it’s easier for me to sell them!🧡
Thank you, Louise. I’m enjoying your videos as usual. Everything looks gorgeous.
One question please , are you intermittently just changing out between the Valspar and the Glidden for pouring medium ?
Thank you so much.
@@andiortega4164 thank you Andi😘, and currently I am strictly on the Valspar with Minwax. However, the Glidden works perfectly fine.
That is so pretty :) The paint looks quite thick, do you ever get cracking due to the paint thickness and the drying process?
Thank you, Jane, once in a while when I was in California, where it was very, very dry but since I’ve been in North Carolina, I have not had a problem with cracking at all. I also make sure I spread the paint out really well, cover it while it’s drying and keep my temperatures fairly comfortable 70° or so in the room.
Beautiful Louise, really awsome. I love it ❤ . How do you prevent cracking...? You left a lot of paint on the tray and didn't spin it out like a normal bloom.....🤔. I have 3 litlle round trays and will give it a go...but of course I have different products. Can you give me a suggestion against cracking? Maybe adding Golden GAC 800 or something else to the pillow?? For the tray I must leave more paint as I usually left on for my blooms. Have a nice day Louise, and thank you so much for sharing❤
Thank you Hannik, I don’t have a secret, I just add less paint that I think I need for the pillow and add paint if needed, because I cannot spend any off. I have had situations where I’ve had more than I wanted in the end and I would end up scooping some of it out carefully from around the composition. So that’s preventing haven’t had a problem with it. Like I say all my videos start with less than you need to add more if needed.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thank you Louise...so...I will do it that way 😀
Question - why do you use black and while cell activators, and not just one?
PS - really really love your tutorials!!!
Thank you, and good question. I guess I find using both black and white gives you some nice cells variation, the white often adopts the colors you’ve laid down and the black is more pronounce. And dramatic. I have gone with just black and just white so activator before, and I’ve sometimes used other colors as well. It just depends on what I’m going for, and the black off creates some really good lacing. But in something that you wanna have looked very light or Christmasy or springy, often I will just go with White.
I can't find the link to get your color combinations . They are beautiful. That is an area I have trouble eith
Hi Renee, thank you and the colors are listed in the video. I called them out as I lay them down. And that’s one thing I have a pretty good eye for his color. I used to be a quality manager at a Graphic Packaging manufacturing place where we made boxes and I would get color variation complaints as the quality manager, so I learned how to read color from that.
