Excellent video. Quality info and conveyed in a clear and concise way. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback man. I'm glad you liked the video.
Amazingly detailed video! I was so into shooting my slingshot over a year ago but band tying definitely got me all frustrated but after watching this, I need a couple of extra tools and my technique was all wrong. Thank you for sharing your experience back to the community. I think I'm going to buy some of those acrylic taper templates.
The templates are the way to go. They keep you dialed in while making the process as easy and fast as possible.
Thank you for passing along your knowledge, great video! 👊🏽
Very good 👍

This is definitely a top-tier video for band set-up and tuning, 💯. Excellent! 👊

So well explained….Awesome!!!!!!!
Thanks
Great video 👍
Perfect and complete explanation! 👍👍👍😃
Thanks man.
Great video buddy! Wish you made this before I started cutting my own bands would have saved me many headaches 😂
Lol I had a video a long time ago and many videos for each section but this is the first time I put it all together. I think a lot of people think that maxed out bands means they stretched them as far as their hands go not that the bands can't go any further. Lol
Very true! If I’m honest this is the first time I’ve seen someone explain the elongation to active length ratio, I’ve always chopped things up until I find that sweet spot, there’s also people who prefer more or less additional length for clips or tuck and tie etc I’ve even noticed some frames where the bands enter the clips a good 5mm more than another frames clips! There’s so much too it! Great job on this though man 100% the most comprehensive instructional video I’ve seen 👍🏻
Very clearly explained. Thank you.
Thanks for watching man.
New to your channel great video very informative thank you! 🤛🇬🇧

Best video about bands. Well done Mark
Thanks man. I was a little worried it would be boring
Excellent, Congratulation!😮
@@ATOMark Not boring at all. Just enough information 🙂
Thanks man
great great great...
Thanks Alan
Professional😁😁😁
Thanks David
Very helpful information to help people understand the concept.
Separately do you notice shifts in your aim and impacts (POA POI) between different bandsets?
Your a short draw guy, similar thinckness bands at the same taper can give me quite different aim points not sure if it's something exaggerated by using long bands, but atleast some of my tuning now is to find the rough aim point/trajectory I want.
Keep doing what you do, your one of the guys helping get newcomers into the sport.
The one thing I didn't show is speed. I try to get my bands going at 280 fps not less and will tune my bands accordingly. This solves this issue.
@@ATOMark Right on, that's another video you could do. Maybe I should get an indoor chrony to speed up the process.
I have sweet spot speeds something like 275 with 9.5mm and 250 11mm work great.
thanks
Brother Ragheed, thanks for the comment!
Sweet video, well presented information. My only question is, what madman invented a razor wheel ? 😂
I know. I have seen some terrible cuts online with one of those.
Wow you're so precise 😅 Thank you! Where do you get your bands and pouches ?
I get them at omegaslingsusa.com
Great Video! I learned a lot about band tuning from this one. I have a question about the material that you are using to tie the bands to the pouch, is that just plain cotton butcher thread, or is it waxed leather thread like in your constrictor knot video?
This is just plain cotton 1mm butchers cord. It has been great for me.
Hello Mark, It was a fantastic video, I have my template and tools ready, but I haven't cut any bands yet. The blackboard on the bottom is what I'm wondering about. Do I need one, and what do you recommend. I'm new to this been a subscriber from day one. THANKS
Hey bro. These mats are great to have. They are designed to cut materials on. I believe they call them self healing mats. They are quite cheap. I think I got this one for $15. That's like .30cents in the US. Lol
Like Mark said they are called self healing cutting mats and it's good to use with cutting tool as it stops the blade on the cutter going blunt
@@briggsy3155 Thank you
Love your vids, Mark. I've got a question for you since i know you're very experienced. Is your eye really at risk from a band breaking? Let's exclude return to senders because if you're shooting properly that wont happen. I'm talking about the band breaking and hitting your eye. You and many others don't wear safety glasses, neither do i. Basically i'm asking, are our eyes at danger when using a slingshot?
If it snaps at the forks I'd guess so
Well I'll say this on the subject. Little kids I would have wear glasses. There is a risk. If you check your bands regularly the risk is small. That said the risk is the shooters and they should take necessary precautions when shooting.
Do you recall the stretch ratio on the bsb .6?
Na I can't remember.
if you cut the sample band wider, would you still get 7 to 1 elongation?
Yup. It would be a little harder to pull but it will still have the same ratio.
I used to do it with a half inch strip but it was harder to pull and the line stretched out so wide and wierd it was hard to estimate where center was. The thin strip is far more effective and accurate.
Man were can I buy these bands in the uk
I don't think they are available In the UK yet. You can order them directly from Omega Slings
