Metal Detecting And Exploring An Abandoned Historic 1800's Tavern And Hotel

- Today we metal detect and explore a very old home and tavern. The home and tavern was started in the 1700's and in full swing by the early 1800's. It was the site of a Civil War Confederate Hospital that treated 80 soldiers at one time! It is a beautiful place and very historic, however like many old taverns and hotels, right along a very busy highway.

Dude! Chigg! Dude! Aside from animal scat-borne diseases, crawl space soils under old buildings are usually loaded with lead & arsenic precipitating down over the years from deteriorating paint, wood preservatives, & even Victorian wallpaper. PPE's man! I'm a carpenter/hazmat guy. Luv ya!
Ah, it's good for yah! People have forgotten how to be a man.... I mean come on! He looks fine to me and I guarantee you its not his first time doing it... I'm 50 something years old and healthy as an ox , been doing shit like that my hole life! I can't get sick because my immune system is used to shit! You live a life of being a scared bitch and you WILL get sick!
I think of that every time he does this and his wife probably won't watch his videos so she doesn't have to witness what he's doing. I couldn't stand knowing what he does if he was MY husband. But I guess you can't be cautious of everything in life, sometimes you just have to jump in and that's what Beau does. His bandaged fingers are proof of this. Start counting his band aids even though he keeps telling US to wear gloves. I have to laugh and take him with a large grain of salt. (O:
@@mikehunt8375 As far as I know, your immune system isn't shit when you breathe in literal poisons.
Ask Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures what those places can do to healthy lungs.
I think Sir Chigg just feels it’s worth the risk for the adventure.
Maybe he’ll listen to you. I’m sure he just skips over my reminders to wear a mask.
Aquachigger!! I’ve been watching your videos for years. You’ve inspired me to create my own treasure hunting channel to share my experiences and finds with the world! Any support, tips, and criticism from you and your fans would be huge! Much love - Sam
Another great, long Aquachigger Adventure that I was able to watch again, as it takes me a tad longer to absorb all the knowledge at you share. No one does this better than you, Professor. Thanks, Beau.
I was born and raised in a holler outside of Beckley now I live in NC, I enjoy your vids and as a fellow West Virginian I am happy for your success in doing something you love.
Time to start wearing a mask, Chigg.... I have developed a type of asthma from the dust I have inhaled over the 30 years worth of attics and basements I have picked......despite having worn a respirator part of the time....but not all the time like I should have. Fibreglass pink insulation gets me the worst now....end up feeling like I want to cough my lungs right out.
I like the way you aren’t squeamish about wiggling under floors and things to see what is there. Adventurous! “Ahhh!! Spiders!”
Mr Chigg, Please keep a pack of disposable face masks N95 or P2 filters in your truck, you never know when you will need them. Sure beats trying to "HOLD YOUR BREATH". Love the channel and the Vids.
Man Chigg , you are determined to try and find artifacts. No way I would go under that place ✌️
I'm only speaking for myself of course but I enjoy when you investigate a property like the well or under the house or even digging a survey hole. It is just a bonus when you find a squeaker. I know that is what you want but I really enjoy the history of a site and any very old object even if it is iron.
How did I miss this one. Glad I got some extra time I can catch up. You're vids are always fun to watch as I want to start metal detecting myself so I figure I'll learn from watching you. So thank for you're vids.
The chig will crawl where no man has crawled before love it man!
Todd no doubt had the find of the day.. That was a very cool pin... Way to go Todd...
I had sympathy coughs while watching you under the building. Love your enthusiasm and determination!
Never know till you swing. Great looking old place and being on the road, I would agree, been hunted a ton.
Sir I love watching your videos how was injured in 2014 where I lost use of my legs i use to love metal detecting and exploring all kinds of things and places watching your videos helps me so much
Nothing wrong with living somewhat vicariously thru AquaChigger I don't guess.
He sure is a smart and easy going guy.His adventures are easy to watch and almost always enjoyable to see yeah?
I llost my left leg and my right is paralyzed from the knee down.I have a prosthetic but usually use crutches now Mike as 20 plus years of using the prosthetic has bunged up my hips and right knee pretty good.
My best to you brother and keep your chin up yeah?
From this Mike to you I just wanted to say hello.
Peace
Interesting, also something about the east is so beautiful! I like the flint the best, but I like horseshoes too. I'm amazed that the native timber beams under and supporting the structure are in such good condition!
Cool info on the property!
Thank you for an awesome adventure!
The tool you found is a ceramic pottery cleaning tool. Used to clean off seams and make decoration in the clay surface. Quite modern.
Was just about to say that, clay sculpting tool. We had tools in my pottery class like that. They were double ended, other end had a curved blade on it.
Thanx Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE see ya on the next
Thanks Chigg and company! You’re right , that place has surely been hit hard !!!! Don’t forget a magnet 🧲 to drop in that well in case you find something 🙂
Your optimism is wonderful.
Were you being bossy? LOL! No... 😁
Beau - you are brave going under that house and breathing in that dust.
Stay safe! 😷
I'll see ya then chigg. Really enjoy your videos man I hope ya keep at it. And anxious to see what's in that well!
Beau and Todd's excellent adventure
"Wild Stallions" both of them playing air guitar.
Just want to say thanks for all the adventures from the comfort of home!
You're brave going under the house, ooh I couldn't do that. Hope your chest is good now. Love you're vids. Lynn from Worcestershire in England ❤️💋
Hey Chigg, you should always carry masks cause if there’s a hole you know your gonna climb in it 👍🏻
I have become claustrophobic in my older years. Did 36 years in hazmat- tank jobs, confined spaces, etc. BUT!! No more. CHIGG!! You're giving me anxiety crawling into that hole in foundation! STOP IT!! HAHA!!
Crazy that you can one day wake up claustrophobic, even after a career like yours.
Nice adventure today Chigg. Too bad there wasn't much in the way of historical relics, but still it was a nice place. Please protect you lungs with a mask when going under those old dusty houses. It will save you the coffin fit/coughing fit. You couldn't have got me in such a tight place for love nor money, especially if it smells. Too easy a gag reflex for me, and tight places give me the heebie- jeebies. Thanks for sharing and better luck next time, at least you found some silver, even if it was a rosy. Stay warm, stay healthy, and have a great day!
That’s a Roosevelt dime!
I hope that such a cool old property gets restored.
When I was in high school we used that pointy tool thing for ceramics. Cutting and shaping clay. So you were right about it being for artwork
That’s the funniest looking mercury dime I’ve ever seen chig🤣
Resembles a Roosevelt dime a lot😏
Mercury had wings ciipped at the barber shop before posing for that coin... no biggie.
it identifies as a mercury dime. who are you to question that lol.
Time for the chigg again! Love your channel chigg.. you inspired me to record my own detecting and youtube channel.. dont ever stop😁🍻
I live in SLC ut and not much medal detecting here!! I love watching all your adventuress! I am a subscriber! Love the song at the end!
That was an awesome adventure! Thank you
I've stuffed insulation on days at work until my eyelids were fuzzy and my throat was full, I know what your talking about, thanks for another fun adventure !
I thought civil war era scalpel when I saw that knife and heard you mention field hospital, but the straight edge looks more modern.
Hi chigg! Hopecyoure staying safe and still having fun
10:06 Washable Crayola marker. Grandkids probably dropped it through the cracks. Surprisingly, it appears the cap is still attached. Usually the cap is missing and the marker is all dried up.
That electric cable sure wasn’t buried very deep.
I started crawling under houses and porches and…half flooded culverts…when I was just single digits. It’s always an adventure, even if you don’t find anything.
👍😷🍺 Well look like there's a long day guys need cool down stay blessed and I'll see you on the next
I’ll finish watching tomorrow it’s bedtime be safe and GOD BLESS y’all Amen o
Another great episode. Happy Hunting.
That electrical piece at 11:30 looks like the splice of two wires. Looks like 2 wires put together with a wire-nut and then wrapped with electrical tape to seal out moisture. A lot of times they were used for underground wiring, although this may or may not be approvedl for that use...depending on the materials involved.
Will I ever learn to recognize the different beeps or chirps? I just have to depend on you to tell us what they mean. How much do the detector sounds vary between the different coils and/or machines? I always love your enthusiasm and optimism.
Yikes! I can't believe you crawled under there....you are brave. You need one of those "grabbing" things people use to get groceries off of high shelves, it would extend your reach for bottles under there.
Saludos colega desde Buenos Aires Argentina cuidate en tus salidas
awsome video and glad to see chad getting into this amazing hobby
Hey man thank you for the video
Hi Beau i also put that type of insulation up but I was putting it in older house putting it up in winter time was not to bad but doing it here in Australia in the summer time it was just plan hell
You should probably mention to people that if there is a propane tank in the yard there's going to be a copper line running to the house from the tank I almost chopped one of those into 1 time
That well water looks clear as a Bell
Hey, there is a school in New England that is next to a church that was founded by Jesse Remington. His Grave is in a small graveyard next to the redone church. Would you be interested in coming to see if you can find anything near this cite? There is also an old colonial schoolhouse in the yard in front of the cemetery. Thanks!
Love the house
The most scary thing is the old itchy insulation yuk! Should of had your mask on lol! Thanks for sharing
Silver Roosevelt dime is not bad I know I got super excited finding one in a cash register drawer, because I traded it for a much newer dime I had in my pocket, but a Mercury Dime would be pretty amazing.
What ever happened to the cave that you found next to roadway by the evergreen bushes
Sometimes when landscaping companies bring fill in they bring in aluminum cans, etc in with the fill. Not all companies do this but some aren't on the level and bring in "dirty" fill. The previous owner may have had fill brought in and that could be why you're finding so many cans.
I can't imagine anyone being blind enough to hit an aluminum can with a lawn mower.
Nice video! I’m doing metal detecting videos too so I know what an amazing feeling it is to find something interesting so thumbs up!
Omg the tiny spots you crawl into. I'm so claustrophobic. Lol
Always happy to see a new video pop up
If it was a field hospital, the ground needs to have a go-over with Ground Penetrating Radar.
There is an extremely high chance that there is a burial pit on the place where the amputated limbs were dumped.
Why would he want to find that or anyone for that matter.
@@getin3949 I'd want to mark it out of respect and ensure no one digs there.
Go easy on Todd. He's a sensitive soul.
lol
Todd has proven to be an asshole
Chigg's Army!!! 😁
Gee Chigg now I have to wonder what's down the well until tomorrow. : ( I sure hope you go back there and check it out what animal can clay cement like that? That's totally crazy for sure. Okay until next time...I'll be waiting.
Awesome Thx for share
A “most unpleasant experience” under the house. I’ve read about these things called masks and gloves. IDK. You sir are hard core...
I can't believe you left that old iron kettle full of silver coins buried under the house!
Yikes in the UK that would be a typical adder hidey-hole!! We find them all the time on the farm 😵
Greetings from the international space station!
Dynamic duo 🕵️♂️🧲
Good video chigg and todd
I suddenly had the urge to jump into the shower after you started crawling under the tavern.
Great video. Like!
Everytime you enter those crawl spaces or old house and stir up whatever I worry what you're breathing in. Wish you would carry some protection with you.
Wow third, Maybe having this virus is lucky. Watch yourself you do not want to catch it. Thanks for all the great stuff to watch while I am down.
Hi Chigg Hi TOD ps TOD brings Chigg real good luck 😁
Mary Garner thanks!
Chigger I think it is good that I am an electrician haha then I can fix it again if I chop a cable the skill to fix a cable is easy and useful :)
My grandfather had emphysema and he sounded just like you chigg.
That native American artifact look.s like a scraper point prob. Broke and reused it into a scraper..nice find
Whoever dislikes this Man’s videos is not Huuumannn😉.
Got to be a bot or an NPC !
You should pack your single sided magnet with you to find the treasure in the wells! :-)
I was very concerned for you crawling around that drooping house insulation 😮😯😟
Well Beau stinky and wet....well I would have asked you to delete that out...haha. Hey you did better than I thought. We knew this was pounded and would be tough but we came anyway, and had a fun day out...the story is bigger....
Nice hunt, hate places like that though, but u found silver
That’s a massive house! A blacksmith could explain all the horseshoes. And you need a mask if you’re gonna be crawling up under old houses. I first said I’d have spent all my time out in the field but yeah, people must’ve already hit it all.
When will we get a gold mine update? I'm itchin for an update about more with it
Hey Chigg, I have a question. Are you going to do river detecting this year underwater.
Good evening to you sir
Hey, Chigg. Is that "US" belt buckle one of the originals you found? At 20:00
my neighbor found their old sidewalk about 4 inches deep, a 1945 sidewalk so about 3/4inch of turf build up for every ten years the good stuff 1800s will be a foot deep and with those tiny coils you'll never find old stuff
"Find of the day" my find of the day would have been that boat.
They should just give it to me because it's cluttering up their yard.
Did you ever go back and check out the well ???
Beau,
Were you a plumber at some point in life? lol I couldnt climb in there bc the insulation would make me hack. Great video as always.
Bryan, Vero Beach, FL
WHO LOVES THE CHIGG? ❤
Could be Canaster Shot. Big and small hitting in one spot and small one alone
Damn...that even made me cough
Nice 1
