Metal Detecting And Exploring A Freaking Weird Stone House

- Time to metal detect and explore a very strange old stone house. As I was driving down the road I saw that a local stone home was being renovated and the yard was torn up. Knowing that it is a very old stone home and on a well-worn road that many a Civil War regiment marched up and down, I knew I just had to stop and ask permission to detect the yard. Permission granted!!

The big metal lump is an old windshield wiper motor. Driven not by electricity but by engine vacuum. You have seen these under the hood of old cars, possibly the one you learned to drive on.
outhouses/dug wells are wonderful digs. the number one item found in town outhouses is handguns. a lot of coins, belts, jewelry and even shoes. the contents of an old outhouse is a great preservative for anything leather. cant imagine THAT. but, its true.
I used a buddies metal detector, that my brother had actually borrowed, and messed around with it for a couple minutes and then later on I watched some videos on metal detecting and I grabbed it and went out by an big old Cherry tree on our property (we bought an old house semi out in the country) and within 5 minutes I found a big 1853 1 cent piece that was about the size of a 50 cent piece. I bought my own metal detector and I have not found one older coin (I would say nothing pre '1960s) since.
Any Aquachigger video is a good video regardless of the treasure. Yesterday’s video he’s somewhere in his jet boat diving where the bottom is paved with bullets. Today poking around an old stone home. Learn something new every time. Although I wanted to see the little present the red fox left...
Nothing note worthy, except for the mercury dime, but kept at it. The way of the Chigster!
While helping my father put on a dormer on the attic of his house, pulled up some floor boards. Found a box of.45 ACP ammo, clay marbles, Jet jewelry, Indian Head pennies, newspaper bits from 1890, cast iron toy horse and two California gold coins, about a 1/4" hexagon shape, the dates on both were1871, 50 cent pieces. Don't know what became of the coins, worth some money.
"Dirty hands are happy hands" 👍✌️
it's a Smokehouse but not the one where you get high 😂😂😌so funny👍go BACK screen those piles
That thing at 30:25 is a vacuum windshield wipe motor from before 1954.
I always have a good time no matter what you do. Your one of a kind, and loved by all. I'm glad to see someone doing something with this old home, it's a piece of history saved. Go back to it if you feel like it, we'll all be there.
I hope you enjoy this video.

Always enjoy your videos Chigg
I say go back!
Amazing job. Goes to show how you can find silver in junk piles..you inspire me .I get picked on fir some spots I dig but I have fun..and you never know ....do ya.
I used a outhouse when I was a kid at our house and my granny’s house. Bad in the winter time we’d froze to death nearly. You went to the bathroom in the dead of winter you hurried you did not take long
Yelp. When cold I always waited to be second, you may have to old your nose but the seat was warm. Lol
Yup them were the good old days we were tough. Especially in winter time.
I used a outhouse when I was little. It had yellow jackets in it in summer and in winter it was so cold you couldn't do your business untill you got back to the kitchen where it was warm.
My aunt had a two-seater. That freaked me out. I can't even imagine an eight seater. I didn't like the wasps, but was afraid something would reach up out of the pile and pull me in.😢
@@connienoel2583 8 seater as in 8 people pooping at once? 😂
Awesome day chigger love that video 👍
I'd say "non-negotiable" found on play money!
BUMBLE BEE?
Yup!
Yep! www.etsy.com/listing/224866691/vintage-play-money-five-hundred-500-100
@@handyman75657 that was my thought, like old bumble bee playing cards.
Seems so.
A lady that lived near us when I was young would keep me and my little sister......they had no indoor plumbing so we had to use the outhouse. Hers had a plank across the back with two holes and that was it....no seats. We also had to pull water from the well to drink and clean. I think all kids should have to experience both then maybe they'd appreciate things a little more 🤷
I would watch you detect that spot again. Possibly more silver coins but I'm sure it's frustrating with all the debris and garbage. Thanks for sharing!
The smokehouse right beside the dunny could make an interesting flavor combination.
Yeah! I would go back and focus on those wall/window piles. Looks to me the exterior rocks are new almost like the rock house structure was added to an existing building. Looking in those basement corners looked alil more hand laid and the type of rocks you would find naturally.
Just want to say that you are an awesome dude, Chigg! Keep being you. Please! We love you!
@30:28 a wind shield wiper motor off of a late 20s early 30s car/truck. My 31 chevy has the exact same motor, vacuum operated via a tube from engine....believe Trico is manufacturer
You have a heart of gold Chigg. Keep being you. Great channel followed you from the start. :-) love from Aberdeenshire Scotland.
Hi Chigg, the grey item with the hose attachment on top is a vintage vacuum driven windshield wiper " motor" . Vacuum was provided buy a double fuel pump, bottom half for the wiper motor. Worked ok until you stepped on the gas then it quit for a moment, always a scare or two . Electric wiper motors came out in 1955 with the new 12 volt battery system, much more reliable wipers with window squirters too.
Hope you return Beau, Got to be something to tell a little of the history of house or least land 🤔, many thanks 👍🙂
My dad used to tear old houses down for the wood and we always looked in the ground inside under all the windows and outside.9 We would find mail, old grocery lists, money, hair pins, jewelry...any thing that would fall through the cracks. They didn't seal the cracks and people would sit in or by the window to see, to read, to write so looking through the brick pile looks like a pretty good idea to me. Also around and I see the porch. After it was torn down. Also under the wood in outhouse where people would put their feet while they were doing their business . you probably already know all this but I just thought that I'd share. Happy Holidays and be safe!!!!
Yes Chigg! I would recommend you return also! And get permission to detect the ground layer of the house and the smoke house!
@ 30:25 it's a windshield wiper motor. old school style
I love that it seems like they had a pink room, a yellow room and a blue room
MOAR! Please go back sometime!
Brass do-dad at 21:38 is used to attach lightning rod cables to the grounding rod.
This video reminded me of that program "This Old House'. I would love to see the finished house, even just the outside. Very interesting!
Scrabble? Ive found plenty of old pottery and coins in walls. God bless the ones that came before us. Never forget. Take nothing for granted..
Great video. I'd love to go there for a nosey.
Bit far really. Manchester UK. STAY SAFE bud.
Love the dime find was so suprising😉👍
I personally loved the video and the history of the place you detected, I enjoy the stories and your sense of humor 👍👍
I can see how you are reminded of mortality when you see old photos.
It is even sadder when you see them in online auctions. 🙁. That family history would be lost.
It is hard to film when renos are going on eh? Or any noise for that matter.
It was interesting to see that house gutted like that. It looks like they are going to save the shell, so that’s super cool!
Interesting “E” for earring. 😄
Nice Merc!
I notice that you keep checking the sun for how much daylight left. MeMiner’s guest talked about that on an ice fishing I did with them last season.
Maybe that paper was a label from a MARBLE container?
This video reminded me of when I was in my last life....we tore down a big cottage. We found over $30 of loose change from the 1940’s to the 1990’s in floor boards, baseboards, moulding and various other nooks and crannies.
Yes! Go back and check the tailings and area.
Would totally recommend coming back and asking about the dirt piles and where they were excavated from; with a big focus on the cellar piles.
It's worth poking around for a while then go back once it's been graded. Who knows what's still waiting to be found👍
Merry Christmas chigg! It's always a great day when I come home to a new video from chigg!!!
Thanks Chigg. I'd say you hit the pinnacle of that place when you found the silver. Most people wouldn't have lasted long enough find that. Mary Christmas to you and yours.
Yahoo I ID'ed that find you tossed into the junk pit ... It was an old vacume wipper actuator. I think maybe the will pile where you found the silver dime maybe worth a look see. Oh thanks for the soft heart 💖 on the photo history. Hope you lookup the gal and pass that photo on. You love "ALL THINGS HISTORY".
Thank you Chigg for another great adventure, I'd love to see the finished product of that house:)
Magnificent old tree there!
I was literally thinking "man chiggs getting desperate searching that brick pile" and not a second later, my goodness
Thanx Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE see ya on the next
I love that old home. I’m glad they are restoring it and hope they didn’t give the floors away like that other house you showed a while back
Beau !! Neat old house that ought to be spectacular when finished.
Ya' cain't find gold, jools and cool relics every time.
Don't back out from that piece of history just because it's a bit challenging and requires a bit more patience than you normally have - you can make it ;-)
Remember, you wanted to find some lost scattered bones in a vast desert, compared to this one is a piece of cake.
Treasures from the past so cool.
If you can search the basement dirt I’d say go for it! Otherwise, I’m fine with whatever you decide. I used to love going into my grandparents smokehouse, I love the smell! Wish it was still there.
That will be a beautiful house when it's finished. Those bricks would make a nice walkway.
22:22 with the E on it looks like a silver swivelling watch chain fob. 26:31 Non NegotiaBLE Bond. Good place to detect again when the level the site and before the new topsoil.
Hey Chig, happy new year, hope you hit 2M subscribers this year, I really enjoy your videos.
Love the Chigg! Just received my two hats. Awesome
I admire your empathy for the pictures
You have to come back here on the weekend when it is quiet.
Good finds chigg merry Christmas to you and your big family
Great video, sir!! Thank you!!!
the date on the dime was 1935-never know what you will find in a pile of dirt.Great vidio !!!!!!
LOL the workers just stand around watching you lol
You scored with that mercury!
I think Beau would be good at I-Spy
Great video Chigg we all like watching your videos buddy but yeah go back there be safe and GOD BLESS y’all Amen 🙏
Keep up the great work chigg!
Looked like a windshield wiper vacuum canister. Cheers Vic
LOL "Let me show you what I am listening to." LOL
Fun video. Always finding “money is good thank you.
You rock Chigg!
Wow a lot of work and money but it’s a really beautiful stone exterior. Enjoyed Chigg 👍
That's my mercury dime you found.. I dropped it there.. Thanks for finding it for me... Lol
Oh man. Looks like a great place to hunt . but at the same time looks so overwhelming with litter..id look around the porch or side walk. Thanks for all you do
Happy holidays everyone!!!
To you as well.
30:35 Is a wiper motor vacuum operated maybe.
Like you I hit a construction site in town. Found some odds no end pottery. But one Indian hammer-pecking stone. Cool Find.
Gorgeous old home.
That big washer was from a body mount on a truck, that round small piece was a booster nozzle from carburater throat. Not surprising being a Farm where they repaired or wrecked vehicles to fix others.
30:28 vacuum wiper motor, Beau.
Without knowing whether the history to the property it's a toss up as to whether it's worth returning. You really need to balance whether sifting through all the junk will turn up genuine treasure or relics. I'm sure there are hundreds of other coins on the property but that's true of any place that's been inhabited for more than a century.
In this video I saw a new side of you though, Beau. You typically seem like you're living the fun life without any thoughts about slowing down or your own mortality. Yet in this video you not only talked about divesting your collection someday but also showed a rare glimpse of emotion concerning those forgotten photos. Has something happened recently?
Looks like a old wpa outhouse most of them had cement floor and seat base made during the ccp
I have a wpa outhouse in my yard. Still in beautiful condition.
30:32 Windshield wiper motor
I would like to see what else you could find there if you wouldn't mind going back. I really enjoy your videos and am interested in Civil War and Colonial things.
i think the E tag is from a little "necklace" that hung around a bottles neck. for some reason that pops up in my memory.
I LOVE that house. Do you think it had a dirt floor? Yes please go back. You might think it's junk but think about what you might find. ♥♥♥
Better “Take it easy “ ..
🤠🎸🎶🙏✌️
Yes go back and try to get them to let you detect that basement floor inside that house before the cover it with cement of something.
That piece you said you have no idea about by the driveway looked like a large secondary venturi out of a carburetor.
Murcury dime.. that's crazy.. that goes to show you gotta keep your hopes up. I have been laughed at for hunting weird spots but I find my best stuff in weird spots that knobody likes
Love your channel! 💚💚 Hope I can one day get my own metal detector. I live in a small town Rayton SA with lots of history.
I knew it would a yapper lol..nice Merc!
"Non-TransferaBLE" = stock certificate or something like that.
"non negotiaBLE" play money.
That brass do dad looks to me as a ground rod clamp at 21.41
Bonjour Beau j’ai beaucoup aimé cette vidéo merci ! 🇫🇷 joyeux Noël 🎄🎅🏻
At 11:54 that washer is a cab mount washer from a chevrolet or GMC truck. I have a few here.
Maybe I was wrong, possibly monopoly money then. Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Kentucky.
Pretty sure that first round thing, that was 100 years old, is a bushing retainer for a GM car. They held the sub frame and engine to the rest of the car. There was a recall on cars like the Beretta in the late 90s...
I want to metal detect my yard and crawl space because when the guy that used to live in my house passed away they found over $100,000 in gold coins in a box in the garage
So... where ya live? Lol
The E is an earring. I’m curious if there’s more silver coins in that pile LOL
Great finds
Your "BLE" could be a piece of a Bible page of a Sunday school hand out? Thanks for the adventure brother!!
We had a outhouse till 1959! Humble, Texas
Everyone else when they
find modern usable money:
"AAAW YEEEEEAAAH!! 😎🤩
Time to buy some victory icecream!!"
Aquacjigger when HE
finds modern usable money:
AAAAAAW NOOO!! 😬😖
What a shame!!.... That's really sad" 🤷🏻♂️😐....
You should have detected the cellar floor. There was probably a chest of gold coins buried there. ble = table?
That doodadd at the 21 min 40 sec mark is a booster out of a carburetor.
