Actually, the calabash pipe was originally introduced when the actor William Gillette was playing the character on stage. It seems it was the only one he could keep in his mouth while speaking his lines( or so I’ve heard!)
I had to pause at 1:09 because the perfection of it all was overwhelming. This is visual cognac to be sipped and savored as it washes over your senses.
I'm making a cape for alaskan winter. I'll probably use waxed duck cloth outside, several layers of wool inside and line it with some silk and smooth wool that I pulled off of high quality thrift store suits. It will have a variety of buttons to configure it according to weather. Perhaps I'll do a double breasted with lapels. Perhaps in white or kahki. Also Perhaps a pistol pocket and contraband pocket. Also maybe I can put small chords that will help it set up in an emergency shelter scenario then tuck away again. Alaska sure demands alot. Lol
I love this community! This excellent, and it’s nice to know CosTubers inspire each other as much as you all inspire us. Thank you for sharing! Ps, Much respect for the dedication to shoot this video in several layers on a hot day 👍
that dolly zoom at 3:00 (i think that's what its called) well that was mind bending. also props to u for doing all the filming by urself! love that edwardian era sherlock is an aesthetic
Yes, do please tell us locations where you shoot when possible! I try to track them down on Google maps and see other peoples photography of the same location. I know I’m never gonna be able to travel there in person but it makes this old man very happy to travel there just in my mind. (Great outfit!)
This was a great video which showcased the Sherlock pieces nicely. While the deerstalker cap is what usually commands my attention, I was drawn to the Inverness cape this time, how it draped and moved.
I adore the "going up at the parapet" theme. Bernadette decided that it was necessary for hers and it was necessary here aparently. Very serious and cool if you don't think about it. I did think about it and now I consider it hilarious.
First of all this is magnificent, and the videography is absolutely masterful, secondly, I was wondering wether you would do a Hercules Poireau version of this? I have to admit that I am always rather torn between my two favorite detectives...
👏 Great work! Both the video and the outfit. The only thing that is disturbing me is the color of the tie. In my humble opinion it doesn't go well together with the vest and the lining of the Cape. But it maybe just on camera.. 🤷🏻♀️
You were mentioning about the wax "If you want to see something like that" and I was thinking yes, yes, I'd like to see and Viola! a tiny wax pan appeared. Loved the whole V-log.
Your sewing skills are incredible and closure of the project very well executed. I can’t help thinking that there is a give away in the opening few moments Mr Sherlock? An Englishman would never use a beaker to take tea, and neither would he pour water without tea from a teapot. Nevertheless, excellent work!
#sherlocked Cool clip. Perfect location for the presentation of the outit. The littering: I just don't get it - it's the same everywhere. They want to enjoy the places but they litter them. "Someone else will take care of it..." What the heck?!?!? Wake up, buttheads, it doesn't work out that way in a society!!!
Brown well tailored leather gloves would have made this perfect for me……a coat without gloves just for me doesn’t sit right…..I do wear similar and love your style
You know ... the Friedenspark works far better than the Benrather Schloss. Although the Nordpark in D'Dorf with its red brick palisades also would have worked. Great video and great sewing!!! Oh and just a word of warning - apparently you need a permission to fly a drone in German towns and cities. Some 'fans' actually sent the police after a youtuber (an American living in Germany) and he had to pay a fine. :(
well, that´s cool, but I would prefer to see you dressed like Professor Moriarty, with a cap and top hat...you look more like him. :P (I do wishe that,I hope you will do it and wear that victorian mono glass :D)
This Park is build in 1920 so called : "Hindenburg-Park" later in the 1980 `s its called Friedens-Park? its a nice Place, but the People in Cologne dont like it now
Bernadette's quote at the beginning cracked me up. The outfit it's just gorgeous.
I knew this was going to be fabulous before it started, but the opening quote just killed me. Beautiful camerawork and what a lovely setting.
That imperial collar, sir, along with your masterful sewing project, restores the iconic Sherlock style to its former glory. Well done.
Actually, the calabash pipe was originally introduced when the actor William Gillette was playing the character on stage. It seems it was the only one he could keep in his mouth while speaking his lines( or so I’ve heard!)
Well, that's an interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
this is excellent, everything is perfectly Balanced, plus every Chap worth his salt should own an Inverness cape.
I had to pause at 1:09 because the perfection of it all was overwhelming. This is visual cognac to be sipped and savored as it washes over your senses.
So poetic. Thank you!

This was wonderful! Beautifully done, both the outfit and the video. And that location was gorgeous!!

Great video, fantastic outcome for this project. Well done, and thank you.
Awesome Sherlock outfit, I want to make one myself.
I absolutely loved this, the styling, the music everything about it was spot on, thank you.
Everything was perfect. Well done! So inspiring.
Again a very well done video... not to mention the outfit.
I love that you started with a Bernadette Banner quote 👌👌👌👌
Brilliant
It turned out incredibly well! The outfit is marvelous :)
You look amazing - great job on the outfit, but also on the one-man shoot!
I love how this kit came together, and the use of green really brings such a lovely depth to all the layers!💜
I adore the "going up at the parapet" theme. Bernadette decided that it was necessary for hers and it was necessary here aparently. Very serious and cool if you don't think about it. I did think about it and now I consider it hilarious.
If you made a film, I would watch it. Great job, Niklas
Absolutely beautiful! The filming is so lovely I’m going too have too watch some adventures of Sherlock Holmes now
Holy heck, why am I just hearing abt you now!? This whole process was amazing to watch- I aspire to gain your level of skill with the needle :D
Beautiful showcase, very consistently and consequently told. The Bernadette nudges are there, definitely ;)

That cape looks great.
Get some water-proofing on there and it would be great for winter

Sublime, as we portuguese say.
Now that Bernadette Banner is in the UK, you two need to organise a collaboration.
Can you make a video about your accessories and tools ? It would be great because I am charmed with the pocket watch and the wax seal .
Duly noted.
Such a great video! Still waiting for how to make detachable collar video!!
A visually rich video. Thank you.
This is incredible!!! I didn’t know I needed a Sherlock outfit, but...
It came together great!
Great fun! Thanks!
So I've seen variations of this garment. A cape, cloak and coat. Which one is considered traditional?
Is there a pattern available for the inverness cape? Thank you.
Ooh, this was a joy to see :)
Already followed your Instagram and now I found your YT channel (from a verbindungs video). Looking forward to watch all your vids - cheers!

Did you sew the hat and the cape? I have noticed you as well have a suit with the same pattern.
Yes, just have a look at the mentioned playlist at the end.
Ok but now I crave a collab. We need extended Holmes family!
Magnifique!
And Watson?
Выглядит потрясно, продолжай в том же духе!
But what about Miss Marple?
Ilike cape jacket sherlock holmes
Is Reichenbach Falls an actual place or a fiction created by Conan Doyle?
It's an actual place in Switzerland.
Me, seeing you jump on a random step, stare around then run off: "I've been here before."
😅
@@Vintagebursche HE CONFESSES!
Youre such a Bernie Banner fanboy. Dont worry....So am I. ;)
You're like the male version of Bernadette banner!
That wax seal porn ❤️
