  • This is one off my pedal boards , I’ve put it together originally to try and get an Eric Johnson type tone . It’s ended up been more a John Mayer type tone ( I think )
I’m using my my 1984 squire japan strat ( as made by fender E TYPE ) I’ve just had jumbo frets put on it by Rob Winder from hull , his work is brilliant , I couldn’t recommend a better guy to work on your guitars ! Really friendly and very considerate .
I like to mid stack with my pedals as I’ve done here on my pedal board and I’m using my valvetron compressor as limiter so that i can have my Fuzz Face mini level on full without blowing the windows out
The amp I’m using is my Mesa Boogie Lonestar on channel 2 with the mid push up by 1 , all controls approximately 12 o’clock , the mid off and the bass at 9 o clock , i was trying to get a fender super 65 sound as a bass tone
I don’t normally ramble on this much so sorry for all the detail but hopefully some off you may find this interesting
Hope you like the content and videos , stay safe , best Bruce

Sounds dope. Just bought this exact amp. You running the delays and verb in the loop? Or hitting the front

Thanks for the kind words dude. To maybe help , from memory, the effects are in front, channel 1, little or no gain (clean only) and i have changed the speakers to cream backers (celestion) type (much warmer and more mid focused) I am playing through my 1986 Squire strat. The magic sauce is the GIGITY pedal that changes the tone shape, hope this helps buddy

Hey man - this is cool; do you run the drive pedals levels hot the way Andy Timmons does?

Thanks for the feedback buddy, yeah in this video i run everything infront. The amp is used clean as a pedal platform. I might add i changed the speakers out for celestion cream backers

@@brucesguitardemos8197 it sounds really excellent……. I have been fascinated recently with how hot Andy Timmons and Scott Henderson run their drive pedals into their amps…… I have tried it, but obviously it can create noise issues when combining with other drives.

The trick is to keep the amp as clean possible and gain stack the pedals, build it with a little bit from each drive pedal , id recommend a good compressor also , really glad you like the demo 👍

Thanks buddy , the amp has celestion cream backers in it so the sound is slightly warmer 👍

Hey, for more super reverb base tone you should try the 35 watt optional 16 ohm output! Check my video. Great playing!
