To me, one of the best and most underrated guitar players ever. So humble, so down to earth, simple and owns a huge Tone! Unmatchable! I can't get tired listeningto his tone and music!
I've only just discovered him, so whilst I cringe when I see the underrated comment, in this case I'd definitely say not well known enough!@@DizzyKrissi
I never get to the end of anything he does, always end up picking up my guitar😀. Great inspirational guitarist. Just listening to him is like practicing, makes you a better player😄.
His tone, phrasing, everything is so inspiring as a player, the 6L6 Lonestar has been my go to amp ever since I heard Andy for the first time about 10yrs ago.
Thank you Robert Keeley and Andy. I just got my Halo recently. Everything as shown and heard here. How many years have I wished it could be this simple to get that sound. Easy-peasy, small footprint, 3D. It did not make me an Andy-level player, but next best thing - the tones inspire. Well done!
Mr . Timmons ,allways a pleasure to see & hear ! Mr.Carr , allways great interviews , excellent comunication with the guest , " Kudos " ! 👍✌ Pease Sweawater ,dont stop this segment , so informitive and entertaining ! Peace ! ✌
Andy is so humble. Hes actually one of the best guitarists alive today and hes untouched in his feel. Andy is a litteral tone king and he poses the ability to make everyone in the room feel what hes doing.
Sweetwater's KILLING IT with these Awesome Insider vids! Don Car interviews Andy Timmons? Whut?! I'm simply Blown Away! I'm soaking in all the knowledge, wisdom, & mojo that oozes from 2 wise guitar sages! (I'll shut up now & just watch) Thanx!
I’ve only recently discovered Andy Timmons, but man what an amazing musician!!! And seems like someone you would truly want to hang and jam and talk music with. I may have only recently discovered him, but I’m a big fan!!!
Let's be honest - Andy is one of those huys who will always sound like Andy. Even through a Zoom 505 and a Line 6 Spyder v1.0. XD This is such a great idea for a series. What are the pro's choices for very small rigs that will give them the essential tones they need.
My son and I met Andy at Moore Music when he came home for a visit and were treated to an hour long symphony followed by a meet and greet. It was an experience I'll NEVER EVER forget. What an incredible player and an even better human being. Thoughtful kind and patient with the long lines. I'd buy anything that has his name on it. Simply because I want to support artists of his caliber.
Andy is one of the few guys where I think the "you should never meet your heroes" phrase *doesn't* comes into play. I think he might be one of the nicest guys in music I've seen based on the numerous interviews I've seen him in.
Glorious tone as always! Surprising to see Andy dose not have his Carl Martin Compressor on this mini board, that is such a huge part of his clean tone and boost going into his Boogies. Excited for the Halo, I ordered one a few days ago, it will sit next to my Timeline which will now be used for other delays.
I listen to Andy play guitar, such a brilliant player, awesome tone, sounds like a great guy too. Keep innovating inspiring,, Great as always Sweetwater 👍
This featured great playing, conversation, and tones, of course, but I was hoping to learn how Andy was using the expression pedal with the Halo, and you guys didn't ever discuss it! Even the power and junction box get described, but nothing about which functions he uses the expression pedal to vary or examples of him using it. Anyone have any info on that?
Just 4 Sweetwater posting videos like this of our favorite artist next piece of gear I'll buy Sweetwater. My brother GROWN MAN 434(producer) buys from them and I'm IMPRESSED with quality and tech support !!!
I see he’s using two amps, and i can see how his delay is going to the two amps. But I don’t understand how his drive pedals work. Does only one of his amps take the drive pedal and the other stays clean?
Can some shed light on some of the subtle intonation things that make a 'Timmons' sound? I'm pretty sure I'm hearing Andy 'pre-bend' many notes just as he attacks them, for instance. There's also a lot of slide, tons of accurate intonation on bends, vibrato aplenty, there's his signature tone choices - which I'd characterise as 'tasty' and 'warm'.
My pedalboare: Dunlop crybaby Wah, mxr dyna comp, Ibanez tube screamer, jhs andy Timmons +, tone city Golden plexi, tone city angel wings chorus, boss digital reverb, loop pedal
dunlop gypsy fuzz? might as well get the mxr variac fuzz its literally the same circuit with an added tone control and a voltage knob to change the pedal voltage from 5 volts to 15 volts for more headroom and fuzz clarity or make it thick and/ squishy etc
Excellent video Don and really great performance by Andy Timmons and so much awesome inspiring tones!!!🔥🎸 I have two questions: What brand and gauge of electric guitar strings Andy uses and also what kind of guitar picks material and gauge he uses? Thanks!
The Halo and the AT@ pedals are great, to be sure. But I cannot use the Halo for most of what I play which is classic rock and blues. It's just too ethereal for that. I'll stick with my Carbon Copy for my always-on delay. But I'd buy the AT@ pedal if I did not already have two pedals which rival that much grit, boost and sustain. My rock and blues tone these days come from a Blues Driver (Waza Craft version) going into a Wampler Tumnus, into a Boss chorus pedal, and the Carbon Copy last. The last three are always ON, and it really works well with my Princeton amp. The Blues Driver is so good, it's hard not to notice it exists on pedalboards of guys like Andy Timmons and Paul Gabriel, even as they push other overdrives new to the marketplace.
sounds amazing as always. maybe it was answered in vid, but i didn't catch it. what is providing the reverb? that's not the Lone Star spring verb is it?
I bought the Halo on day 1 release in UK - so far it may replace a few well established delays ( timeline and a belle epoch ) .. The pedal that surprised me on the rig was the dunlop band of gypsies fuzz and tbh I was disappointed he didn’t show what he can do with it - because I own one n havent dialed it , so was hoping he would show whats possible. Otherwise Andy is a legend ! Just wish he’d tour uk - if not with the band at least some clinics around country ...

Sounds as terrific on this video as it did in the room! Don, what a treat it was hanging with you and getting to film this.
Robert Keeley, always good to hang and work with you! Congrats on the pedal, it sounds soooo good! You, Andy, and the team crushed it!
Thanks,
DC
What an incredible pedal, sounds beautiful, Andy plays so sweetly keep innovating , inspiring , 👌
Love the “halo” it’s idiot proof: and I am that proof. 🙏❤️👍
To me, one of the best and most underrated guitar players ever.
So humble, so down to earth, simple and owns a huge Tone! Unmatchable!
I can't get tired listeningto his tone and music!
👍👍🤘🤘🤘
underrated? Nearly all guitar-players know and love Andy Timmons
I've only just discovered him, so whilst I cringe when I see the underrated comment, in this case I'd definitely say not well known enough!@@DizzyKrissi
What custard player isn’t “humble” on RUclips? Someone always has to say it.. “underrated and humble” no matter who it is
Such a class act, always a joy to hear him play, great interview!
There is no such thing as "the best tone" but Andy has it.
His tone is otherworldly, amazing player.
Andy is a special dude. And i’m not just talking his talent. So down to earth so kind and cool.
One of the greatest artists, tone-smiths, and all around awesome guys in the business. Andy is such a class act.
A man, playing his signature guitar through not one but TWO of his signature pedals. Legend.
One of the most amazing guitar players in the planet and he’s so down to earth and humble… and has this relatively simple pedalboard 👍🏽
Well done!
Andy is phenomenal and such a great guy to interview. I bet that was a blast Don
His dynamics are just next level. Love his playing.
I’ve just recently been turned on to Andy Timmons, really love his style and touch. Thanks for this video.
Andy Timmons has got to be one of my favorite artists. Thank you for this!
Mr . Timmons ,allways a pleasure to see & hear ! Mr.Carr , allways great interviews , excellent comunication with the guest , " Kudos " ! 👍✌ Pease Sweawater ,dont stop this segment , so informitive and entertaining ! Peace ! ✌
As an ambient guitar player I really love this guy’s tone and want that album based on the Halo pedal asap!
Great rundown! 🤘🏼 Thanks for the shout Andy! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Andy is so humble. Hes actually one of the best guitarists alive today and hes untouched in his feel.
Andy is a litteral tone king and he poses the ability to make everyone in the room feel what hes doing.
Love both of these guys! So sympathetic and down to earth!
Nice to see Hendo and Eville represented so well🤘🏻
Two of the nicest guys in the business. Both great musicians...
I just love Andy’s playing& yay my favorite Sweetwater guy Don Carr!
Andy has the clean tone to die for. And that is because it is overdriven.
I said hello to Andy at CosmoFest near Toronto Ontario, Canada a couple years back. He was so friendly , one of my favorite players for sure !

I've met Andy here in my country, so humble.
I’ve only recently discovered Andy Timmons, but man what an amazing musician!!! And seems like someone you would truly want to hang and jam and talk music with. I may have only recently discovered him, but I’m a big fan!!!
Check out him and Martin Miller
@@purtis99 I don’t know Martin Miller, thanks for the heads up! I’ll check him out too!
@@coryburns13 They have some stuff together
The sound is truly phenomenal 😮 like the player himself ❤❤❤ 🤘🏻
4:13 Did he mention he lives in Mckinney, TX? thats where i live
Andy is the best sounding guitarist in my opinion.
IMO, the best tone of any player out there. If only I had his chops!
Let's be honest - Andy is one of those huys who will always sound like Andy. Even through a Zoom 505 and a Line 6 Spyder v1.0. XD

Yes. The same with Mike Stern
Glorious tone as always! Surprising to see Andy dose not have his Carl Martin Compressor on this mini board, that is such a huge part of his clean tone and boost going into his Boogies. I listen to Andy play guitar, such a brilliant player, awesome tone, sounds like a great guy too. Keep innovating inspiring,, Great as always Sweetwater 👍
Great vidéo, Thank you Seetwater. And thank you Andy Timmons
Wow. That combination of delay and just a little gain sounds amazing.
AT is a phenomenal player, dynamics galore, harmonization master
This featured great playing, conversation, and tones, of course, but I was hoping to learn how Andy was using the expression pedal with the Halo, and you guys didn't ever discuss it! Even the power and junction box get described, but nothing about which functions he uses the expression pedal to vary or examples of him using it. Anyone have any info on that?
I saw him first in late 90`s. He is one the greats!
I need this one today. Just love Andy! Thanks for doing this guys !
Met him at a GC in Plano Texas. Took pics with him and my son my sons band mates
Andy is one of the best Rock guitarists alive today, in my humble opinion and i'm sure he's also a good pal
Southern Indiana/Kentucky???? wow :) Always been a fertile area of creative players. this cat is one of the most expressive guitar players ever....
Wow! Had this on in the background listening to them chat. When he started playing my head turned 360 degrees! Amazing tone 🔥
What a beautiful guitar
We could listen to you both talking for hours, Don! Come on! At least an hour with Andy, please 🙏🙏..
One of the undisputed Kings of Guitar Tone.
A new refret to the old trusty AT !! , sounding great as usual Andy.
Andy is a real class act .. Nicest guy and just a super talented player.
Whoa! 2 of my favorite guitarist on the same thread!!! That’s awesome!
Love my Halo. I use Andy's sound (turned down to sit back in the mix - a little goes a long way) and haven't moved a knob other than the level!
Andy signed my AT10P, top bloke and really appreciate his sound.
Just 4 Sweetwater posting videos like this of our favorite artist next piece of gear I'll buy Sweetwater. My brother GROWN MAN 434(producer) buys from them and I'm IMPRESSED with quality and tech support !!!
Mad respect and love for AT
Sounds amazing as usual with Andy..
I am surprised he didnt have his dual Compressor on there
I see he’s using two amps, and i can see how his delay is going to the two amps.
But I don’t understand how his drive pedals work. Does only one of his amps take the drive pedal and the other stays clean?
Nice to see David St Hubbins doing so well after 'Tap'
Can some shed light on some of the subtle intonation things that make a 'Timmons' sound? I'm pretty sure I'm hearing Andy 'pre-bend' many notes just as he attacks them, for instance. There's also a lot of slide, tons of accurate intonation on bends, vibrato aplenty, there's his signature tone choices - which I'd characterise as 'tasty' and 'warm'.
Please give a close up picture when andy is explaining the pedal, for us who really like those gear!😃
What an amazing sound and talent
I can't focus on anything Andy is saying because I am mesmerized by Don's incredible head of hair.
My pedalboare: Dunlop crybaby Wah, mxr dyna comp, Ibanez tube screamer, jhs andy Timmons +, tone city Golden plexi, tone city angel wings chorus, boss digital reverb, loop pedal
I love Andy's playing! Why didn't they mention wah pedal, or is it expression, or volume?
It's an expression pedal he uses to control the mix/intensity of the delay.
👍🏻🥰👍🏻Fantastic tones and playing! Congrats from Brasil ‼️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
dunlop gypsy fuzz? might as well get the mxr variac fuzz its literally the same circuit with an added tone control and a voltage knob to change the pedal voltage from 5 volts to 15 volts for more headroom and fuzz clarity or make it thick and/ squishy etc
Thanks for the post. Been listening to the new AT album. It’s great.
What a cool guy!!!! Great tone on the Halo. It's like PB&J on brioche bread :)
I've always thought the Boss Bluesdriver was an underrated pedal. One of my favorite pedals
yep! the Waza version is even more special. love the pedal!
Holy shit, did anyone else need a minute after he played at 5:42, so beautiful
Awesome sound master Andy!!👍👍
Awesome love his sound
I Still Think About You solo is as good as it gets. 🤘🏽
Andy Timmons writes some of the most of amazing pieces on the electric guitar
wow nice composition Andy!
Maestro Timmons!!!
GOD Bless You 🎸🎸🎸
Great video Don,,Andy is a awesome dude since the 80's when he was with Danger Danger I thought he was great player alot of inspiration for me ,,
Excellent video Don and really great performance by Andy Timmons and so much awesome inspiring tones!!!🔥🎸
I have two questions: What brand and gauge of electric guitar strings Andy uses and also what kind of guitar picks material and gauge he uses? Thanks!
I miss my blues driver!!!
When will the pedal be available? I need it in my life!
That godly guitar tones ONLY from those pedals?

cool sounds! Where did Andy say he did stream live show ? "stage" ??
beautiful pedal!!!!!!!
Andy is a master player and seems like a great guy
Does the expression pedal just control the delay?
The things I would do for that Halo peddle.
Being an Evansville guy as well as Andy, I have to wonder where Don is from?
Andy is a fucking legend.
He never talks about distorted rhythm tone??? Lead tone it to compressed for rhythm chunk. What does he use if he's playing rhythm under vocals?
Andy is more humble than he has any right to be, absolute legend.
Best tone in this part of the galaxy.
Such a good guitar player....
The MXR Variac Fuzz is a Band of Gypsies fuzz, with an added tone control and added variable voltage (Variac) control. Great pedal!
That’s a wild shirt Don.
